  I started posting on Royal Road around June 2025, and Book I concluded in November 2025. After that I began drafting Book II, but partway through it became clear the structure wasn’t working: Book II needs to be split/rebuilt, and Book I also had foundational issues that required a heavier rewrite than I expected. In January 2026 I posted the first ten chapters of the revised Book I, and I’ve continued revising internally since.

  For now, I’m pausing updates on Royal Road until I can confirm that the new Book I and the rebuilt Book II are in a stable state — meaning I can continue serializing without more major, sweeping revisions.

  I know that’s not ideal for a read-as-you-go platform, but I’d rather do this once, properly, than keep moving the goalposts.
