Adventure 9: Winds Of Change

Soaring into the sky higher and higher, Iramo watched the creatures dragging their brothers corpse away as they turned their back on him as he shouts their way.

“HEY! COME BACK HERE, I’M NOT DONE! YOU DON’T GET TO RUN AWAY.”

Struggling to control his path as he drifts aimlessly in the wind, further into the sky no longer seeing the ground. Iramo stops to think and regain control.

I need to keep calm and focus on the bigger picture for now. I’ll come for them later but first I need to focus on getting back to the ground alive.

Closing his eyes and embracing the winds flowing all around him Iramo imagines himself as a cloud soaring through the sky.

Good but I need to see it in my mind. If I can’t even imagine gaining control, I’ll never get back to the ground and make this gift my own.

Now focus … pure silence listen to nothing but the winds and the way they change. Focusing on controlling himself, he imagines himself slowing down and standing in place.

“Perfect! Now I just need to take that first step forward and the sky's all mines.”

Wobbling as he takes that first step, Iramo makes sure to never lose his nerve as he keep walking, stabilizing with each step forward he takes, slowly gaining control as he walks across the sky.

In shock, Iramo shouts ”It actually worked! Now if I'm lucky I can figure out how to get down without free roaming again.”

Looking back at the black desert overflowing with stone, he turns his head forward seeing the forest ahead.

“I really owe that big bastard a round two and now I got to deal with those hot heads too. Going in for that sneak shot nearly took me out! But I’m still alive!”

No, focus. For now I need to focus. I need to stay on track with what I'm really here to do. Starting with gaining better control over the wind. Let's see, if walking works, maybe I can imagine something else to go down. Time for me to get creative.

Closing his eyes Iramo envisions a giant fist flying through the air as he sits on top of it, imagining he is as light as a cloud.

“There we go this is riding in style. Just missing one thing.” Iramo imagines cloth wrappings covering the fist. With two loose strands wrapping around his arms, allowing him to control its path. Smiling as it manifest wrapping around it and resting near his hands he pumps his fist in the air.

“Perfect, now all that's left to see is if it works.”

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Once my hands grabbed hold of the two strands, I wrapped them around in my palms, rolling my hands around until the winds couldn’t slip away. It felt like they we’re firm but never in place. It was a perfect fit around my hands yet felt like at any moment it could slip right through them.

It was different then I imagined but it isn’t so bad I can’t follow through. I’ll just slowly drop down and take a seat, I hope I don’t fall right through. But if it works on my hands surly it works for me too. No, it will work. I have to believe it to achieve it so I can sit down.

Three, two, oneeee GO! Wow, I didn’t fall through and it’s thicker than I though. It’s like sitting on a cloud and the grass at the same time. It’s surprisingly super soft and so comfy but solid too. I guess I can kick back and relax for now, I might even take a nap in the sky.

Wait would the cloud even stick if I we’re to go to sleep right now? Know what I’m not gonna risk it, I just learned how. At least I can take a good look at the stars scattered across the sky.

I wonder which one has the world I came from. Maybe I can see it from here.

But thinking back to what The Voice said I doubt it would be that easy but what if I tried? If I can already fly, why just stop at the sky? I don’t know everything but I wanna know how far I can go, I wanna know how high.

Reaching out his hand to the sky, he finds himself longing to the moon. Reaching out towards the north node while he’s looking at the south one, clearing the sky. He leave a single cloud above his head, to dream under the stars.

I want to know what I’m really capable of I bet the other version me would know.

Sitting up and looking down to the ground seeing the black and blue forest beneath him as he floats across the sky, Iramo puts his hand over his heart.

I wonder who I really am and just what kind of life I had. Did I throw it all away? How did I fail to protect them even with a power like this? I still can’t remember, I’ve only got his words and the few memories that returned to me to trust for now. I wonder where my mom and dad are? Did they get sent away too? I wonder how their doing this must be hard on them too. But I know their strong, they will be okay, I just need to get back to them soon.

I still feel like shit though, forgetting my own mother but I can tell she’s an amazing woman and I know dad has her back. If it’s one thing I know now is she will be safe — he’ll make sure of that. I can’t wait to learn more about her when I make my way back.

Wiping the tears away as they flow down his eyes, Iramo look forward focusing on the world below the skies.

That's enough feelings for now, I need to figure out where to go next. I can probably find the source of those shock waves from earlier when I arrived. Hopefully it’s not another beast breathing down my neck but I have to be ready for a fight either way.

Matter a fact, where did that voice go off to? It hasn’t showed me the way at all! It just pops in every now and then to dodge my questions and send me on my way.

If that’s how it’s going to be though I’ll just do my own thing until I get some answers from you.

“any objections?” Waiting with an annoyed expression on his face, he hears no reply.

“Nothing to say huh? Sounds like I'm good to go then. Only thing to figure out now is where to go.”

Slowly floating across the sky, he feel a vibration flow through the air. Iramo feels the change and hears the sound of the shock wave carried through the wind. Turning towards to the direction of the sound immediately, he grabs hold of the wrappings, taking a stand with a mischievous grin.

“Great timing, I was just looking for you and now I know just where to go!”

Full speed ahead! hand- wow actually I don’t think I gave you a name.

Stroking his chin as he thinks an idea pops into his head.

“I got it! I’ll call you The Flying Fist, now full steam ahead!”
