ANNOUNCEMENT: Major Story Remaster & "Patch Notes" (Read Before Ch.13)

  Hello everyone,

Before you proceed to the next chapter, I have an important update regarding the future of [Arcane Syntax].

As I read through your detailed reviews, I realized that "good" isn't enough. I want this story to be great. I want to deliver a professional, published-quality experience right here on Royal Road.

To achieve this, I have performed a Major Remaster (Rewrite) of Chapters 7 through 12. (I have also polished the prose in Chapters 1-6 to ensure a smoother start).

What has changed? This is not just a grammar fix. Based on YOUR feedback, I have:

  •   Fixed POV Issues: No more "head-hopping." The story is now strictly locked to Carlisle’s immersive perspective.

  •

  •   Deepened Emotional Stakes: Carlisle is no longer just arrogant; he now carries the weight of grief and physical cost.

  •

  •   Logic & Lore: The magic system is now tighter, and the "Glitch Horror" atmosphere is more intense.

  •

  ?? What should you do?

  •   Option A (Highly Recommended): Go back and re-read from Chapter 7. The pacing is faster, the stakes are higher, and the chemistry between the trio is much stronger.

  •

  •   Option B (The "TL;DR" Summary): If you don't have time to re-read, please read the "Patch Notes" below so you aren't confused by Chapter 13.

  •

??? v1.5 REMASTER PATCH NOTES (Spoilers for Ch 7-12):

  1.   New Item Acquired: In Chapter 9, the party fought a "Gravity Hound." Carlisle hacked its core and obtained a [Damaged Gravity Core]. IMPORTANT: This item was used as a physical key to open the Megastructure ruins in Chapter 11.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

  2.

  3.   The "Silent Purge": In Chapter 10, we learned that the Order doesn't just destroy; they "format" reality like deleting data. We also witnessed Lyria’s tragic memory of her people being "deleted," explaining her deep hatred.

  4.

  5.   New Enemy Type: The underground monsters in Chapter 12 are now a "Maintenance Swarm" (Mechanical Spiders). They are non-hostile to the city but treat the players as "Trash" to be recycled.

  6.

  7.   Gravity Mechanics: The dungeon now features Chaotic Gravity Zones. The team must jump between walls and ceilings to navigate.

  8.

?? HALL OF FAME: The Architects

This remaster is dedicated to the readers who took the time to write detailed reviews. Your feedback literally shaped this new version:

  •   @kurowinter88: A massive thank you. You suggested giving Carlisle a memento of his master and grounding his grief—the "Peppermint Wrapper" detail in the new chapters exists because of you. You also pointed out the thin trust between Savage and Lyria, which I have completely reworked. The trio now clashes and bleeds together before trusting each other.

  •

  •   @StenDuring: Thank you for your honest critique regarding "Head-hopping." I took this to heart. The new chapters now strictly adhere to Deep POV to ensure a seamless, immersive experience without jarring perspective shifts.

  •

  •   @LastDays: For pointing out Lyria's inconsistent behavior. The new version digs deep into her trauma (The Silent Purge) to fully justify her reactions.

  •

  •   @JessAlter: For noting Carlisle's arrogance. I've added moments of vulnerability and physical consequences to his power usage to ground him.

  •

  •   @Independent at Two: For loving the "Glitch Horror" vibe. Chapter 12 pushes this aesthetic to the max with the Maintenance Swarm.

  •

  •   @nose diver & @Runinsilence: For your early support and love for the "Magic as Code" system!

  •

To everyone else: Your feedback matters. Keep the comments coming, and help me build a better world!

Chapter 13 is released IMMEDIATELY after this note. It features the climax of this arc and relies heavily on these new elements.

  Enjoy the new version!
