Chapter 22: Other Worlds

[As you all know, there are countless other worlds besides the solar system and this living world.]

Albus began to explain, the vision of Earth under the feet of the people present changed. Now, the people watching in that great hall saw not one but many solar systems! Those planetary systems surrounded everyone's vision, causing the dark room of the starry night sky to now shine brightly.

[The worlds all have inhabitants, as well as invading forces.]

After the Demi-God said that, countless creatures flocked to those worlds. From strange objects like Eldritch tentacled spaceships, or creatures with bat wings like Demons, or Monsters with the appearance of lions with bat wings and snake tails. They covered the planets of those worlds, and then dyed the blue planets a blood red, a deathly pale green, or a bare brown of sand.

[Those worlds lacked the protection of the gods, leading to their inhabitants being easily conquered. And when they were destroyed or ruled by invaders, that world would be ruled by a dangerous god. And then they would continue to expand their territory by invading other worlds.]

Albus' eyes lit up at this moment. Her gaze seemed to see beyond the human eye, beyond the stars. The radiance from the Demi-God's eyes knew the end of the road, where the thread of fate was winding. It was something that even the most dedicated Clerics and wise Wizards would have difficulty knowing.

[You, the chosen ones, based on your fighting ability, use of power, or strong desire. I will grant you the power to ally with those neighboring worlds and establish my divine protection. By doing so, you will also help protect your homeland from future invasions.]

A gentle smile appeared on Albus's face, mixed with a hint of childishness. Countless white lights emitted from her body, they fluttered like fireflies and landed on all those present. Those who received that mysterious light, the dark clouds in their minds were cleared, a new dawn appeared in their hearts. Phenomena appeared around the people there. Some people suddenly emitted elemental energy, maybe fire, thunder, ice. Some summoned another entity to their side. Some also transformed their bodies into other creatures or wore armor. No one showed any confusion, as if they were born with those supernatural phenomena! Even so, only Allan did not see any change.

“Ugh…” Cide frowned, his mouth making an unpleasant sound. He quickly sat up and pulled out the gun from his waist. “… Where is this? And where is Monster?”

“Ah, I don’t know either.” Allan was startled, but immediately updated the situation. “It seems we were teleported here by a god. She gave everyone power, and warned them about the problems from another world that would come in the future. Those present here were given the ability to prevent it.”

  “Ugh… I don’t plan on working overtime…”

Cide sighed, but suddenly his eyes widened. He suddenly took a deep breath, then suddenly exhaled as if he had run out of breath. His eyebrows furrowed, looking thoughtful.

“Is something wrong?” Seeing that strange reaction, Allan couldn’t help but worry. “Did you receive any other power like the others?”

“Probably not…” Cide shook his head and looked at Yona. “By the way, for everyone to be healed like this, will that goddess charge a fee?”

“If so, I’ll just have to pay, with labor or some resources.” The gamer placed his hands on his hips, smiling behind his helmet. “I suddenly understood what my power is…”

“Good, and I hope the gods don’t play loan shark.” Cide sighed and took out a cigarette to light it. “Is smoking prohibited here?”

[Your future is in your hands. Remember, time is a very limited resource. Use it well, for yourself or for those around you.] Albus said, and light began to cover the entire room. [I will take you to the place you have decided, back to your home or the world where you will carry out your mission. I wish you will be in control of your future.]

The light flooded Allan’s vision, but it did not make his eyes uncomfortable, on the contrary, it was extremely comfortable. His body felt like it was floating in the air, he felt like he was experiencing a short nap in the light. After a while, the light faded, and Allan’s body slowly set foot back on the ground. Before the gamer's eyes was a barren field, without a single living creature or plant. The ground was cracked brown, and the horizon was filled with dust.

“Well, this place is like a dream… at least there’s less sand here.” Allan looked around, only to notice familiar faces behind him. “Cide, Yona, and Elina-san!?”

“Um… what’s going on?” Yona finally woke up. She sat on the ground, her eyes darting around in confusion.

“Yona, Allan!” Elina hugged Yona tightly and walked over to place her hands on Allan’s shoulders. “It’s good that you two are safe… but where are we?”

“It seems like this is another world.” The helmet disappeared, Allan scratched his cheek and smiled wryly. “And it looks like you were dragged along with us.”

“Seeing your stream was interrupted, I was worried that something bad had happened…” Elina breathed a sigh of relief and looked around. She coughed a few times as she inhaled the dust, her hand forced to cover her mouth. “Agh… but this place… isn’t very clean.”

“You don’t have to worry, miss.” Cide walked up from behind Elina. He quickly put a mask on the female doctor. “Everything is under control, at least for now.”

“Ah… thank you.” Elina was startled when she saw the face she had just seen through Allan’s stream. “You’re the one who accompanied the two children!”

“He’s Cide, a Hunter who hired us to go down to the Dungeon.” Allan smiled, extending his hand towards Cide while introducing himself to his sister.

“I hope my daughter and brother won’t bother you.”

“No, I’ve been of great help.”

Cide smiled. His voice was softer than usual, and his expression was friendlier than when he met Allan and Yona. Now, when Allan looked to the other side, he saw two Earthling youths and a fox-eared Beastfolk girl.

  “Everyone is-“

  Rumble

The English gamer was about to speak when an earthquake struck. The shaking of the ground grew louder and louder, and the sound of rocks scraping against each other echoed repeatedly. From afar, they all saw what looked like snakes crawling towards them. The closer it got, the more violently the ground beneath their feet shook. Only now did they see more clearly the black bodies of those snakes, as large as a 10-story building! With more teeth than snakes on Earth and such a massive size, these were definitely not friendly carnivores!

  Bang bang bang

Allan aimed his gun at the huge Monster and fired a few shots. Even though the creature had been hit by a barrage of high-voltage electric bullets, it still showed no other reaction, continuing to crawl towards the group!

  “RUN!”

The gamer boy shouted, all seven of them immediately turned around and ran at full speed, without any hesitation or question. Yona picked up Elina, Allan held Cide’s waist with one hand, and the Beastfolk girl carried the two young men on her shoulder.

  --- ---

“…Where the hell is this place?”

Joker blinked a few times, his mind still trying to accept the current abnormality. An hour ago, he was still in the hall of the Olzug ??castle in the clouds. His family had begged Joker to demonstrate his new ability, so he made a show of shooting his wand at an Adamantine pillar erected with Saga’s Spell. His full-strength steel wand was stuck in the magical metal smoke, and his finger was broken. Of course, 10 seconds later, the finger was healed like new. His whole family was impressed with these new abilities.

“Well done, boy!” Sabata exclaimed happily, his face trembling as if expressing both fear and awe before the ultimate creature. “You cannot be violated! You cannot be killed! You are incomparable!”

“Well done, Jozo! This is a big step forward for you!”

Skoll jumped up and down excitedly at that little performance. And of course, Joker didn’t really see much of a difference. He looked at his hand and could only sigh silently. At the same time, Niki quietly walked towards the adamantine block that was stuck in the steel wand. An arm appeared next to the leopard-eared girl, it swung a punch and imprinted a fist-shaped hole on the metal block!

“It seems like your Guardian Spirit is even stronger than last time!” Saga rubbed his chin and analyzed. “The punching power is greater, the speed has changed significantly.”

“Um.” Niki smiled, her hands on her hips, her chest puffed out, and her leopard tail wagging proudly.

“Really, be more considerate, Niki.” Hawa complained lightly, but still patted her little sister’s head. “Always try to be like Joker.”

  “Yes.”

Niki nodded in understanding. After finishing the performance that his family had insisted on, Joker left the hall and entered the hallway leading to his room.

“Everyone has a very positive reaction to the ability you’ve learned, Joker~.” Jarek followed behind the wolf boy and smiled.

“…They’re just trying not to embarrass me.” Joker shook his head slightly. “As you can see, Niki has only been training for less than two years, and in addition to being a talented Ranger, she is also a promising Spirit Weaver.”

“Comparing yourself to others is not a very good idea. Especially if it demotivates you instead of inspiring you.” The rabbit-eared Shapechanger placed her hand on Joker’s shoulder. “If you’re tired, you can rest. And when you train, I’ll be there to help you~.”

“… Speaking of rest, you need it more than me.” Joker turned his head and replied. “If you want to travel around here more, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow are not too late.”

“Thank you for your concern~.” Jarek swayed his rabbit ears lightly, covering his giggling mouth with his hand. “If you need it, I’ll help you get a good night’s sleep. A Dreamer needs to Dream~.”

“Uh… no need.” The wolf’s eyebrows drooped.

“No need to be shy~.” Jarek raised his thumbs, not backing down from the offer.

“You don’t mind, but I do.” Joker replied coldly.

“You’re a boy, a warrior, let your heart and mind be more free. That’s where the Dreamer’s power comes from.” The female Shapechanger began to persuade. “Experience is power, relationships will accumulate experience for you. And I will help you as the best girlfriend I can be. So, let’s get used to these activities!”

“…” After a few seconds of silence, Joker sighed. He looked straight into the other’s eyes, his gaze now devoid of hesitation. “To become stronger, I won’t hesitate anymore. So, please.”

  “CGL ~.”

Jarek happily followed Joker back to the room. Once again, she continuously inhaled a large amount of anesthetic for Joker, thereby allowing the wolf boy to maintain sleep despite his body continuously recovering after 10 seconds. Joker couldn't remember what he had dreamed about, and at this moment he found himself in a very different place both in his dream and where he slept. Now, he was surrounded by an extremely strange place, he was still wearing a T-shirt and shorts before going to sleep. The thing that was enveloping him seemed to be inside a sphere, it was transparent and looked like glass. He knocked on the wall of the sphere, there was no sound coming from this material, it was so hard and thick that it was like knocking on a solid block of metal. Trying to look outside, Joker found himself inside a large room, surrounded by rough stone walls. The light in the room was not natural, but he couldn't see where the light came from other than the walls. There were two similar glass spheres inside the room. There were also people inside them, and they were both unconscious.

  “JAREK! YONG!”

Joker screamed in panic when he recognized the faces of the other two, they were also trapped in the sphere! He shouted repeatedly, but there was no response from them. His voice echoed clearly inside the sphere and hurt his sensitive ears, which made him suspect that this was also soundproof. The wolf boy groped around to see if there was a switch or a gap to open this sphere, because if there was a way to put him in, there must be a way to get out! Even with his sharp senses, Joker still couldn’t find anything, this sphere was completely sealed! There was no gap to escape, he decided to create it himself!

  Bang bang bang

  Keng keng keng

  “Guh!”

The steel wands shot from Joker’s fingers collided with the sphere. However, there was no sound of breaking, only a continuous metallic sound. The steel wands bounced and flew around inside the sphere. Several needles had pierced Joker and left tiny holes in his body!

  “Damn it!”

Joker clenched his bleeding wound, his teeth grinding together. The sharp pain surged, but it was soon overwhelmed and burned away by the angry lava within him! The wolf boy continued to shoot the steel wands without stopping. More and more of the steel wands fell to the floor, and his fingers were broken one by one due to the recoil. The holes in his body were increasing, and the amount of blood flowing from the wounds was enough to bury his toes!

  “Hah…hah…”

Joker breathed heavily, but showed no signs of stopping. His body also did not give up on healing its master every 10 seconds.

[Blob blob blob, it was funny to see a bipedal creature struggling like a human.]

The strange sound and voice rang out in Joker’s head, accompanied by the sound of bubbles in water. From the direction of the doorless room’s entrance, a group of creatures with the shape and color of goldfish swam in. The goldfish were about the size of a human and were swimming in the air. They looked at him, their faces looking like they were smirking.

“…Are you communicating with me telepathically?” Joker immediately realized the problem.

[Blob blob, it’s rare to see a land creature understand as quickly as you.]

The fish’s mouths opened and closed repeatedly, but no clear sound reached Joker’s ears. Their words echoed in his mind. Looking at the way they mocked, he realized that he was truly being held captive by dangerous and hostile creatures! Ironically, the situation was like the goldfish in a glass vase for decoration and the owner watching had been switched places.

[But, he’s bleeding so much and yet he’s fine, interesting.] One of the goldfish floated closer, its eyes fixed on the wolf boy.

[Then he’ll be a great battery!] The other goldfish commented excitedly.

[Sure, the lord will be happy!]

The scaly creature replied, and then both of them laughed with their mouths full of blob sounds.

“You won’t let me go, fine.”

Joker’s eyes were like two bullets that were deeply embedded in the faces of the two abnormal fish. He stopped shooting, and instead, his two hands released a large amount of objects. One hand was rice flour, the other hand was steel chopsticks. They poured out from his hands, so much that they completely submerged Joker and filled the ball with rice flour and steel chopsticks!

[Hm, what kind of white sand is that?] One of the two fish looked at him intently.

[More importantly, what is he doing?] The other goldfish was confused as he watched.

[Or does he want to commit suicide?] It hypothesized.

“I don’t have time for that.”

Joker replied, even though he was covered from head to toe in rice flour and steel chopsticks. His ten fingers pointed at each other, and they simultaneously shot out steel chopsticks. The metals collided violently, creating sparks.
