CHAPTER 1~ ONE HELL OF A BLOODY DAY

  ? ⊙ ? ⊙ ?

  Holy shit.

I may not be sure of many things, but I just know that coming to school today was a bad idea. I am running through the corridor without once looking back. I am not sure which floor I am on, how many turns I have taken, which wing I am in right now, and even, for goodness' sake how long I have been running for.

Bodies. Dead. Fucking. Bodies. Lay scattered around every lane I step into. Torn apart flesh of people I don't recognize and of the people I do along with some of the members of the rescue team.

The air smells of steel so heavily that it has become nauseating. I look back. Just to have a slight peek of the living horror chasing me down. Almost 8 feet-- no, 9 feet of pure bloodthirst and malice. Big enough to hide the entire background only by its figure. Its mouth is wide opened. I am pretty sure that it can drop all the way to the floor and the lesser show-off is just mercy I am not sure helps me calm down in any way. Something black, and jelly-like is dripping from its mouth.

  Ew.

The second thing I am sure of is that whatever this thing is, it's is not an animal of any sort and very obviously not human.

The past, which happens to be two hours ago, has already become a blur in my memory. Somewhere between the screams, pleads of mercy, and a lots of spilled blood it has all started. And then came the rescue team.

It did not help. At all. Now that they all are slaughtered by the thing whose last meal is probably about to be me.

  Not probably. Definately.

I look back forward again and the last thing I process is the momentum of my left leg vanishing as it collides with a fallen body instead before the floor suddenly becomes the last thing I see. A loud thud, as my body lands hard on the floor, echoes and pain shoots throughout my body. It is okay, the pain right now is bearable but the pain of the realisation that hits me within seconds of my session of make believe is mostly unbearable and has managed to become the worst of my problems right now. THE CREATURE IS STILL BEHIND ME.

I brace my hands on the floor on either side of my head and force myself upwards. As I somehow scramble back onto my feet and try to run again, sharp and white-hot pain bursts around my ankle. Great. A twisted ankle was all I need right now.

A hiss escapes my breath as I take only one step forward but I decide to ignore the pain. I am very good at hiding pain and pretending it doesn't exist. I have done it multiple times before....uncountable times. I have gotten used to it. But it is too late to act on the desicion now as I hear those aggressive footsteps again. Closer to me

Than they were before, too close. I hear it

  Once.

  Twice.

Before its claw tears through my back and a silent scream tears from my throat. Tears blurring my vision before it blackens at the edges. The creature slams me down and then cages me beneath it's figure. Our faces only inches away. It's teeth- sharp, pointy, unnaturally long, and made solely to tear flesh - is dripping of blood and opened wider than before. The reflection of the being in those yellow, marble like eyes is unmistakably mine. I hope it wasn't.

The black, slimy thing that was dripping from its mouth drips onto my collarbone, only a small droplet but the skin of that area burns like acid poured instead. I shriek. Tears are falling freely now as I watch the thing lower its head, opening its jaw wider.

  Is this how I die?

  Is this the end?

  No.

I force my consciousness back into place and turn the gears of my brain quickly. I look at my left. Nothing. I force my thrumming head to turn to my right. There it it.

A gun. Lying beside a body, must be a rescue team member's but the last thing I give a fuck about right now is acknowledging the dead person. My hand reach for the gun before my mind could catch up and I grab it. I, without a single ounce of hesitation, bring the gun in front of me, positioning it slightly inside the creatures opened jaw. I press my free hand hardly against the top of its jaw and I shoot. Repeatedly until it makes an animalistic sound- wose than animalistic- and stumbles back.

I ignore the sharp and hot pain on my wrist and drive my knee up to hit the dammed thing hard on the stomach. It barely moves but just enough for me to push it's weight off myself. I scramble backwards to a distance and pick myself up as I sprint for my life again. The gun is still in my hands. Good. But I need some spare bullets.

I take a turn around the corridor again and halt before another fallen body of a rescue member. I crouch down and search his pockets. There has to be at least one magazine left. A growl from the distance manages to startle me but at least my hand gets a hold of the magazine. I shove it into my pocket and look forward. A dead end at the the end of this corridor and I can't turn back around. There are multiple rooms on the right side but I can't get inside of any of them. That thing, no doubt, will break down the wooden door and make its way inside, and then I will get cornered. And then it would be the end of me.

MY eyes lock onto the furthest down the corridor with a fancy, metal door. It's the principal's office. He was the one to get decapitated by that creature first before everyone else. The office's owner is dead.

  Advantageous

I run up to the door but when i try to open it, it doesn't. It is locked. From the inside. Is there someone hiding inside? But what surprises me more is that someone is still alive. Thank God I am not the only one.

"Hello?" I call out, hoping for an answer. "Is there someone inside? Listen could you please open the door? It's clear outside but I really need to get in."

I wait for an answer. I hope whoever that is inside hasn't killed themselves with the door locked otherwise I am fucked more than their corpse.

After five whole seconds, a response finally comes. "No."

  ........no?

  "What?"

  "I said no."

  "Is this a fucking joke?"

"I am not risking opening the door for you. I don't want to die."

My eyes narrow as a very aggressive growl echoes at a distance not very far. My head snaps towards my right and I catch a glimpse of the creature's long slender arm. Shit. I take a deep breath. Rage suddenly starts to fill my chest until i am gritting my teeth.

"Listen. If you don't open this door right this second. I am gonna shoot this password lock. Get inside and kill you before that godsdammed thing can." My voice is laced with rage, I don't even recognise at all. There is something wrong with me right now. I can feel an unfamiliar type of anger and rush engulfing me whole. But it's not the time to think about that. The shadowy figure is here again, and somehow looking even larger than before. It's mouth is now dripping with blood, too much blood.

Did it feast on someone on its way here?

Before I know what I am doing, my gun is already raised and I am shooting repeatedly, aimlessly towards it. At this rate my wrist must have gotten dislocated. I don't care. I switch the gun to my other hand.

Almost all the bullets hit it perfectly. Some at it's chest, some at it's abdomen and heck one even manages to pierce through its skull. But it doesn't fall.

Once it is really close, I run out of bullets. Panicking I reach for the magazine but its too late. The clash hand wraps around my neck in a heartbeat and slams me against the wall, knocking the air out of my lungs.

  I can't breathe.

It's grip is too tight, almost like it can decapitate me with its grip alone. The gun slips out of my palm and my vision starts to darken.

I slowly feel the life slipping out of my body but the floor suddenly shakes, and the creature loses its balance and stumbles. It's grip weakens up enough that I take a deep breath, filling my lungs with precious oxygen and them I kick the bastard so hard even my own feet hurts. But this pain is good. This pain in bearable. The ground shakes again and this time harder. My vision is spinning and my head is throbbing so bad I barely register the scream of the person who is inside the metal door room. I feel like someone is scratching my skull from inside.

  Why are they screaming?

  Wait.

  Why am I screaming?

The celling collapses and so does the floor. Somewhere around me the creature shrieks so loudly the frequency makes my ears ring. I cover my ears and scream.

Scream until I feel something heavy fall upon me.

Scream until I see my the pool of my own blood.

Scream until the last thing I see is riot before air leaves my lungs and my heartbeat stops and darkness crawls up from the edge of my sight and covers it whole.

  I am dead.
