Joshua immediately stopped his train of thought about his past and thought to himself, "There is no point in looking at the past now; there is nothing I can do to change it."

  The principal said, "Joshua, have you been listening to me? I said you can go now."

  Joshua replied with a bit of embarrassment, "Sorry, Sir, I was thinking about something and did not pay any attention to you. I’ll take my leave then."

  But then, suddenly, multiple loud knocking noises came from the door of the principal’s cabin.

  "Come in," said the principal.

  After hearing those words, the door was swiftly opened and the principal’s advisor, Mr. James, appeared. He frantically said, "Pri... Pri... Principal, I have very ba... ba... bad news. The De... Doo... Doodra brothers have attacked Gycktova! Reports are saying that they have attacked in order to steal the Ijohr crystals."

  After hearing those words from James, the principal said in a stern voice, "Ok, call Dennis and his intern to my cabin immediately. This is a serious situation."

  James replied with an "okay" and immediately sent a telepathic message to Dennis and his intern to come to the principal’s office. After a few minutes, Dennis and Sarah, his intern, arrived.

  The principal told them, "Dennis and Sarah, the Doodra brothers have attacked Gycktova, and it seems they are stealing Ijohr crystals. I request you both to go and stop them, as the Ijohr crystals are an important power source used by most of the world."

  While all this was happening, Joshua was still in the principal’s office. After he heard the principal telling them to go, he eagerly said, "Sir, could I also go along? I want to try and help."

  The principal quickly replied, "No! Joshua, it’s too dangerous for you to go. I can’t allow it."

  But then Sarah said, "Principal, it’s ok, let him come. I will make sure he will be safe. He is the only senior year student who is not interning with an advanced year student, so let him come. It will be a good experience for him to learn about teamwork, which is what senior year students are supposed to learn about."

  After hearing her out, the principal unwillingly said, "Ok, I’ll let you go, Joshua, but only because I trust Sarah and Dennis."

  Joshua replied with a thanks to the principal. He also thanked Sarah for her convincing, and she replied, "You’re welcome, Joshua. Actually, I always liked spending time with you, ever since we were younger."

  Joshua then thought to himself, "Man, Sarah is too kind. I can’t believe I used to hate her when I was younger."

  Dennis and Sarah rushed towards the Garyvagum, and Joshua followed them. After they had both entered the Garyvagum, Sarah said, "Joshua, come on in, enter the Garyvagum."

  "Ok," replied Joshua, and he entered it.

  (A Garyvagum is a machine that looks like a room. It has a glass door which requires the correct pincode to be entered to get into it. After entering it, the door opens and you can step inside. Once inside, you can enter the coordinates of the location you want to go to. After everything is set, the rockets under the Garyvagum are activated and it starts flying to the desired location. It travels at speeds faster than a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird and is used by superheroes of Lempika to quickly travel to any location to prevent crime, especially for the superheroes who don’t have superpowers to ease traveling.)

  After Joshua entered, Dennis set the coordinates to Gycktova, and the Garyvagum was set in motion. In the middle of the journey, Dennis told Joshua in a grumpy voice, "Look, Joshua, I know how weak you are, so don’t be a liability to us. Just be on the sidelines and watch us fight; that will be sufficient experience for you."

  "Ok," replied Joshua.

  Sarah, feeling a bit sympathetic, whispered to Joshua, "Don't feel bad about what Dennis said, he’s just grumpy sometimes."

  Joshua smiled in response and whispered back to Sarah, "I didn’t feel bad at all. What he said was the truth, though, but I will try to help the best I can."

  Dennis, after hearing them whisper, said sternly, "What are you guys whispering about? Stay focused. We are going to fight the Doodra brothers, so we should be on our toes. Heptagon Doodra and Triangular Doodra are actually on Lempika's list of the most wanted supervillains. Heptagon has the power to produce mist, and once you are stuck in his mist, there is no way one can hit him. And Triangular has the power of data structures—linked lists, trees, arrays, and so on."

  "What type of powers does this Triangular guy have?" said Joshua, looking confused. "When we fight villains, computer science is the last thing we think about. This guy must be some big nerd."

  Dennis angrily said, "Stop it with your stupid jokes. This is a serious matter, and you're acting like a child."

  Suddenly, the Garyvagum’s voice assistant said, "We will reach our destination in a few minutes. Get ready with your parachutes, as the door will open for you all to jump out once your destination has been reached."

  "Forget the parachutes, guys. Just hold onto me while jumping out of the Garyvagum. I’ll make sure that we land safely," said Dennis.

  Upon arriving at Gycktova, the glass door of the Garyvagum opened, and all three of them jumped out of it. Joshua and Sarah held onto Dennis like he had instructed. Just before they landed on the ground, Dennis made them float for a second, and then they stopped floating and landed safely on the ground.

  They could see a lot of chaos going on in Gycktova. They went towards the place where all the people were running away from, and there they found the Doodra brothers destroying the yards to steal the Ijohr crystals.

  Upon seeing them, Dennis said, "Stop, you filthy criminals! We are from Lempika, and we are going to put an end to your reign of crime."

  In response, the Doodra brothers started to laugh out loud. Heptagon Doodra said while laughing, "Heh... was that supposed to be threatening? You sound like a superhero from those comic books."

  Heptagon then ran towards Dennis and the others. Dennis quickly shouted, "Both of you run away from here, get back!"

  Joshua and Sarah ran back to create some distance between themselves and Dennis. When Heptagon got close enough to Dennis, a sudden mist appeared that covered both Dennis and Heptagon.

  "I think we should help him out," said Joshua.

  "You have got other things to worry about," said a loud, mysterious voice. Suddenly, Joshua got hit in the face and fell down.

  "Joshua, what happened? How did you get hurt?" asked Sarah.

  Joshua responded, "I’m fine, but it felt like someone just punched me in the face."

  After listening to what he said, she thought to herself, "How did he get hurt? No one came close to us to give him a punch."

  Suddenly, Triangular appeared in front of them out of thin air.

  On seeing him, Sarah said in a condescending manner, "Was it you who hit him?"

  Triangular smirked and said, "Heh, well, you’ll find out sooner or later."

  Sarah quickly touched the ground and created a small metal dome surrounding both her and Joshua to protect them both. Sarah said, "Now this should keep us safe from his attacks."

  But then, suddenly, Sarah got smacked in the face.

  "What? He can attack us even when we have a barricade surrounding us? He didn’t even teleport inside the barricade, and he was far away from us, too," said Sarah, just before she got smacked again.

  "Ouch! We have got to get out of here. He must be attacking us based on a location which he has at least seen once," said Sarah. She quickly grabbed Joshua’s hand, removed the metal dome covering them both by touching the ground, and ran away from that place.

  Sarah then sternly asked, "What’s your deal? How are you able to attack us even when we create a barricade surrounding us, despite being at a large distance from us?"

  Triangular chuckled and said, "Do you think I am some comic book villain to tell you how my powers work? Are you guys even real superheroes? Hmph, asking these stupid questions."

  Then, Sarah and Joshua got smacked in their faces again.

  "Ok, the punching is starting to get annoying," said Sarah. As she touched the ground to create a machine gun, she said with excitement, "Eat lead, rectangle!" and started shooting bullets at him. But before the bullets could reach him, he teleported away.

  Joshua immediately turned around, shot his quicker fireballs at him, and said out loud, "He’s behind us!"

  The fireballs landed on him, and he jumped back to create some distance.

  "You did it, Josh! You hit him," said Sarah.

  Joshua, in a shocked state, responded, "Yeah, I guess it was a lucky shot, or maybe it was too fast for him."

  Sarah thought for a second and said, "Hey Joshua, I want to try something, so listen to what I am about to say. Keep shooting your fireballs at him. Do it, now!"

  Following Sarah’s command, Joshua kept shooting his fireballs. Triangular tried dodging. While dodging, Triangular delivered his teleported punches to Joshua to prevent him from shooting. Joshua kept shooting his fireballs with sheer determination despite getting punched, but he was still missing some of his shots because of the constant punching.

  Sarah then turned the machine gun she had made around to aim at Triangular. On seeing her getting ready to take aim, he immediately stopped punching and took some fireball shots. As soon as Sarah was ready to shoot, he teleported to a location behind them to dodge both Sarah’s bullets and Joshua’s fireballs.

  Sarah turned the machine gun around, and Joshua turned around to continue shooting bullets and fireballs at Triangular. But this time, Triangular dodged the attacks by teleporting to locations in front of Sarah and Joshua, continually increasing the distance between himself and the both of them.

  Immediately, Sarah threw away her machine gun and said, "Joshua, stop shooting fireballs, and stand close to me!"

  After Joshua did what she said, she immediately created a metal dome covering them both like before to protect them.

  Joshua said to Sarah in an anxious manner, "Didn’t you learn from last time? He can still attack us in here, despite not being able to see us and being far away from us."

  "Well, if what I am guessing is correct, I think we’re safe. I think he won’t be able to attack us in here," said Sarah in a confident tone.

  Then, after waiting for around 10 to 15 seconds, they heard Triangular say, "You're some smart heroes, alright. Now come out. Don’t test my patience. I won’t go easy on you guys anymore if I get annoyed."

  Sarah smiled and said with joy, "My guess was correct! And since it was correct, now I’ve got a plan."
