(Third Person POV)
[Dreadwalk, Capital of The Abaddon Kingdom]
Below the mountainous fortress that is Castle Amara, there lies a massive city that acts as the Capital of the Abaddon Kingdom. Countless of dark buildings made out of pure stone made up the yout of the city, with several Towers scattered about, casting shadows over the city.
While the City was controlled and ruled by the Midnight Legion, Queen Asothia's order, it was ran by four specific individuals known as the Four Dread Lords. They were handpicked by the Demon Queen to keep order and peace. Should anything arise from the city, it was their duty to deal with it. Only the Midnight Legion's top commanders and the Queen herself had authority higher than the Four Lords.
Dreadwalk was a simple and unusual name for the city, seeing that it was massive and magnificent in its simple and dark manner. The reason for this was due to a story ciming that the Demon God Abaddon once took a simple stroll through the Blood Star Realm, spreading chaos, dread, and despair as he walked. When stopping at the base of the mountain, his demons had gathered hundreds of thousands of mortals, ensved to do their bidding.
It was stated that instead of stopping, the Great Demon God kept walking through the mountain, ripping a hole through the Distortion itself. One of his Demon children established a settlement, naming it Dreadwalk, demanding that a castle be built in honor of Abaddon's muse, Amara.
In the centuries following this event, the city eventually grew rger and stronger, the Kingdom of Abaddon being founded by the First and only Demon King, Cain.
And now, millennia ter, the City lies as the home to Demons and many other races that resided in the Blood Star Realm, one of the many realms of the Distorted Godnds. Despite order being kept by the Four Dread Lords, there was still dangers lurking about.
And Queen Asothia knew this.
Which is why she sent Samuel Grey down there.
And there he was, standing next to a building in the South-Eastern Market District. He was escorted down to the city by several of Rok'gul's men, simply left alone. He was given a bag of gold coins and some rations, being told that he was on his own.
The rules were simple: Don't leave the city.
And considering that the city was massive, there was a lot that Samuel could do.
But he wasn't sure where to start.
"Hm...." He said, looking around, feeling nothing but a tense atmosphere, "Seems like a regur medieval-styled city. Everything is made out of stone and obsidian, it seems. I can sense nothing but trouble here."
He took a step forward and was immediately bumped into by several human-looking people who were walking.
"Watch where you're going, cunt!" one of the men scowled
Samuel simply stood there, adjusting his hat as he looked down, "Hm...." He said, "Not friendly folks, huh?"
He gnced to the side, seeing some guards patrolling by. They were tall, wearing steel-pte armor, dark grey in color, and wearing bck and green colors. He saw the sigil of a twin-headed serpent, red in color.
"Interesting color combination." He said with a serious expression, "Now, what to do."
He caught the whiff of food, drawing him in almost instantly. His stomach began to growl as he looked behind him, trying to locate the source of the smell.
In the distance, he saw a smaller building, dark red in color. The doors were open, and inside, he saw that there were people sitting at a table, eating.
"A pce to eat." He looked at his coin bag, "I could have a bite. Yeah, let's try that. If anything, the System might find another Task for me while in there."
He began to walk towards the building, holding his coin bag closer to him as he gnced about, trying to see if he was in the clear. There didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary, which put him at ease.
He then reached the building and stepped inside, seeing that there was only a few people inside; the ones that he saw from outside and around three more, sitting in the corner. The smell of food was much more pungent, hitting his nostrils.
"Yea, that'll do." He said as he walked over to a table, gncing about and seeing the other people, "Let's see...."
As he sat down, the others gnced over to look at him. They were wearing medieval attire, that of commoners. They all narrowed their eyes at his clothing, seeing that it was strange to see someone dressed like that.
As he sat there, he gently tapped the finger on the table, patiently waiting for someone to come and serve him.
A minute ter, a young blonde-haired girl walked up to him, wearing an apron. She was short and petite, with beautiful pink eyes that didn't seem to be human.
She reached him with a warm smile, "Hello there." She said, "How can I help you?"
"What do you have to eat?" Samuel asked
"Right now, we have some mb stew being prepared. It would only take a few more minutes." She said, "Oh, and some pork chops. Just got a batch of bread out, if you want that as well."
Samuel nodded, "I can work with that." He said, "Give me a bow of stew, two porkchops, and bread."
"Would you like some mead with that?" the girl asked
"Sure." He nodded, "How much do I owe you?"
"3 silver coins." She said with a smile
"Hm....." Samuel pulled out a gold coin, "I don't know how much this covers."
She looked at him with surprise, "G-Good sir, that is too much." She said, "A gold coin is worth 30 Silver coins.....!"
"Hm....." Samuel said, giving it to her, "Well, that's all I got. Thanks."
She bowed slightly, "T-Thank you for that!" She said, "I'll get you your food as soon as possible."
As she scurried off, the other men looked at him with scowls on their faces.
"Who's this fucking guy?" one of them asked, "Some wealthy adventurer? Tch, funting his money while the War is going on. What nerve he has."
Samuel heard this but paid no mind to it, he simply sat there, patiently waiting.
Some minutes ter, the girl came back with a tray of food. She set it down on the table, setting to the side a rge bowl of stew and a pte of pork chops. He pced two pieces of bread on the pork chops and pced a cup of mead in front of Samuel.
"Smells good." Samuel said with a slight smile
The girl smiled brightly, "Thanks~" She said, "Oh, by the way. My Grandmother wishes to meet you after you are done eating."
Samuel looked at her with a bit of surprise, "Alright then." he said,
"I'll go and see her ter."
