(Samuel's POV)
To better understand what the hell is going on with this whole "Promised Warrior" thing, I think I will py along with these Demons. I have to be careful, though. I don't know how strong they are compared to me.
Oh, who am I kidding? They can probably kill me with ease, they're freaking demons for crying out loud. The real question is this: How strong am I currently?
Well, having a Gun with no bullets makes it pretty obvious; not that strong.
Either way, I have to act accordingly. I need to make sure they think I am on their side, even if it won't be easy.
And it doesn't seem like it will be.
I was walking down the hallway with the Orc on my side and Scarlet behind me, taking the first sweep of our stroll in order to explore the Castle. This was part of the tasks that the System had given me, to explore this pce. If I do happen to complete it, I do wonder what kind of rewards I will receive.
I hope it's something to do with the bullets; I need to figure out a way to resolve that problem.
I looked at Rok'gul, seeing that he was quite massive now that I looked at him much more closely. He was wearing thick-pted armor with strange engravings. Every step that he took caused the armor to rattle in response.
I remembered that earlier, he had been able to summon an axe out of thin air. That is something I assumed was reted to Magic.
"So." I spoke up, breaking the silence, "You are a mage?"
He gnced at me, "Something like that." He said, "Why do you ask?"
I shrugged, "When that serpent woman had me in her clutches, you summoned your weapon." I said, "Is that some sort of conjuring spell?"
"You're smarter than you let on." He said, his voice gruff and dismissive
"How much do I let on, hm?" I said, "Are all humans here that stupid-looking?"
"Not all, but some." He replied coldly
I nodded, "Interesting, interesting." I said, "So, I take it you'd be considered a Battlemage, right? Or what they call a Spellsword."
"What does it matter to you what I am?" He said, "I wield magic."
"But you'd still be considered a Mage." I said with a nod
"Yes, what's your point?" He asked
I shrugged, "Nothing." I said, "Just making conversation. You wield magic to summon weapons to fight. I find that interesting. I take it with my System, I would be capable of the same."
"I suppose so." He said
So he's a mage. He could be a target of one of my System's tasks. If I do attack him, I won't win. That much is obvious.
"How much do you have to explore?" Scarlet spoke up, "We have been walking for minutes now."
I shrugged, "I don't know." I said, "Your guess is as good as mine. I don't know how this System works, you know?"
I gnced at her; she was giving me a serious expression.
To think that I would casually take a walk with a woman who leglocked me to cum inside her. And she acts like she didn't have my cock inside her not that long ago. I do wonder what was up with that, it was a very weird experience.
"Let us continue this." Rok'gul spoke up, "We'll continue walking about for a few more wings then take you to Her Majesty."
**************
I walked outside onto the rge balcony, seeing the massive ndscape before me. The sun was setting barely as dark clouds began to form in the clouds. The sunlight breaking through some of the sky to turn a shed of red, casting a strange blood-like shadow onto the massive city that was below.
I looked down, seeing the massive castle walls beneath this specific tower, "Interesting." I said, "This castle was constructed on a mountain, huh? And it's....damn, it's massive. That's an understatement; it's pretty damn huge."
"Yes, Castle Amara is a fortress." Scarlet spoke up behind me, "This tower we are in is the smallest, but it is five times rger than any fort in the Abaddon Kingdom. This castle was meant to house the Abaddon Royal Family, which consists of powerful and dangerous demons."
I looked at her, "is that so?" I asked, "Where are they?"
"Queen Asothia's retives are no longer residing in the Castle." She said, "She is the only member of the Abaddon family to remain in the castle."
"Interesting." I said, "Sounds like there's some sort of family drama there."
She didn't react to this comment, merely stayed quiet.
Rok'gul walked into view, a serious scowl on his face, "Was that enough?" He asked, "We walked through several wings of the castle."
He's right. I explored a good portion of the castle, seeing many Demon Maids and lots of monstrosities, truth be told. Some of them were enough to churn my stomach, but I am somehow fine with that.
"I don't know." I said, "Like I said, I don't know much of this either. So I'm guessing that if the System doesn't appear before me, it didn't work."
"Fine then." He said, "We'll take you to Her Majesty then. She'll know what to do."
"Hm." I said, "Very well, I do have some questions to ask-"
As I said this, the System Screen appeared before me:
[Task Complete: Explore Castle Amara]
- Reward: Gunslinger Belt, Gunslinger Coat, Gunslinger Hat, Skill Unlock [See Skills]
I widened my eyes slightly, "Okay, I guess it did work." I said, "I got it in front of me."
Scarlet took a step forward, "Did it, now?" he said, "What did you receive?"
A white light orb appeared in front of me, fshing briefly and dropping a bck leather trench coat, a bck leather gunbelt, and a bck leather gunslinger hat. It looked like a modified cattleman hat, truth be told, but it was clearly made out of leather.
"You got.....apparel from that?" Rok'gul asked
"Hey." I said, picking up the items up, "A man's gotta have some style when doing the job."
I didn't waste time on putting the gunbelt on, noticing that there were six bullet holders on the left side, while a holster on the right. As I fastened it, I noticed Scarlet's eyes gazing upon me.
I then put the coat on, feeling that it was a perfect fit on me, "Hm...." I said, "There you go...."
As Rok'gul looked at me with a serious scowl, I put on the hat on my head, feeling it sit nicely on it.
"This feels more like it." I said, "Now, for that Skill."
I clicked on the Skills tab, seeing two specific skills on it:
[Conjure Bullets]
- Activating this skill summons bullets into the equipped Six-Shooter Cannon, entering a 10-second cooldown. When the cooldown ends, one can activate it again to fill up the gunbelt's bullet holder, should one be equipped.
- So long as the bullets remain in the chamber or in the bullet-holder, they are permanently summoned.
[Gunslinger's Mark]
- Activate this technique while dashing at an opponent, smacking them with your hand. This bestows the target with a Mark.
- The Mark activates "Aim Assist" and any bullet within a foot radius of the Mark is immediately drawn towards.
- Every third hit upon a Mark will proc "Critical Damage" which inflicts three times the damage normally dealt.
"Okay then." I said with a slight smile,
"I like this start."
