Chapter 106: Slayers Charge

  Thud!

The Slayer kicked aside the pile of worthless rotten meat that was the fake Tyrant.

The anger of being deceived and toyed with caused the reactor in his chest to emit a low hum of overload.

He ignored the surrounding Spirits who were still cheering fanatically and worshiping him as a god. In his eyes, these weaklings had completed their task (clearing the trash). Now, the remaining work—the true hunt—had to be done by a professional.

The Slayer looked up, the crimson scanning beam on his visor instantly sweeping across the entire top floor of the command tower.

  [Target Not Found.]

  [Searching...]

He turned and strode toward the floor-to-ceiling window at the edge of the hall.

Through the shattered window, he could see the massive mining area below, still billowing black smoke with alarms ringing through the sky.

Although the Tyrant's double was dead and the slaves had revolted, this mine still possessed a rigorous defense system.

Countless Mechanical Demon Guards were pouring out from various exits, attempting to suppress the riot. In the air, dozens of heavy armed airships were gathering, their dark muzzles aimed at the command tower.

The Slayer didn't hesitate for a second.

He didn't even look for the stairs.

  Crash!

He smashed directly through the floor-to-ceiling window, leaping from the top of the hundred-meter-high tower.

In mid-air, he activated his [Dash], adjusting his posture like a green cruise missile, diving straight toward the densest cluster of enemies below.

  ...

  Netherworld, Control Center.

Singularity watched the rapidly descending green dot on the screen and the dense red hostile signals lighting up around it, not panicking like before.

He had gotten used to the Slayer's tactical style of "jump wherever there are the most mobs."

Compared to worrying about the Slayer's safety, he was now more concerned about another problem—"Phobia of Insufficient Firepower."

Singularity looked at the holographic projection of the Slayer's equipment loadout in front of him.

"Current config... it's sufficient, but not extreme enough."

Singularity's finger swiped across the icons of several heavy weapons.

"The Demon Steel Shotgun and Tiger Soul Chainsaw are basically 'End Game Gear,' but the others..."

  1. Rocket Launcher:

"Power is decent, but this is the core zone of the Abyss; there are more and more spirit-type monsters. Ordinary explosive damage is halved against them."

Singularity rubbed his chin. "Need to add some 'spice'. For example... seal 'Nether Ghost Fire' into the warheads? Make the explosion deal high soul burn damage?"

  2. Chaingun:

"Fire rate is fine, but the damage per shot is too low. Shooting those thick-skinned heavy armored demons is like giving them a scratch massage."

Singularity pulled up the inventory list of the Netherworld Arsenal. "Maybe we can grind the cores of those 'Obsidian Golems' the Slayer smashed into powder and mix it into the warheads? Increase mass and kinetic energy... maybe engrave a 'Thousand Pound Drop' rune too?"

  3. Plasma Rifle:

"This thing is handy, but it overheats too easily. Last time it blew up after just two shots."

Singularity frowned. "Need a new cooling system. Although the Netherworld's Ice Hell is cold, that's physical cold. We need... 'Extreme Yin Cold Jade' as a barrel liner? Or connect a micro-portal directly to the Eye of the North Sea?"

  4. Ballista:

"Power is huge, but reloading is too slow. The Slayer has to wait ages every time he weapon-swaps; it affects the combo fluidity too much."

Singularity circled something on the blueprint. "Need to change the feed mechanism. Use the principle of 'Shrinking Ground to an Inch'? Fold the magazine space to achieve auto-loading?"

The more Singularity thought, the more excited he got.

As a tech geek with aspirations, watching the Slayer fight with those "flawed" weapons was more painful than killing him.

"Slayer! You keep killing for now! I'm charging up a big move here!"

Singularity shouted over the comms channel. "Wait until you clear this wave of mobs; the new upgrade pack should be delivered!"

  ...

  On the battlefield.

  BOOM!

The Slayer smashed into the ground, the shockwave instantly knocking over a circle of mechanical guards.

As he stood up, the Rocket Launcher was already on his shoulder.

  [Lock-on Burst].

  Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Three rockets trailed flames, drilling precisely into the engine of a low-flying armed airship.

  BOOM!

The airship disintegrated in mid-air, its burning wreckage smashing onto the ground, crushing another patch of demons.

  The Slayer didn't stop.

He drew the Chaingun, activating Mobile Turret Mode.

  Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrt!

Although the damage per shot hadn't been upgraded yet, at this range, the dense barrage could still tear ordinary demons to shreds.

He was like a tireless meat grinder, rampaging through the steel jungle of the mining area.

A Tyrant tried to stop him with a laser cannon.

The Slayer dodged with a slide, switching to the Ballista the moment he stood up.

  Pew!

A red energy bolt precisely hit the Tyrant's single eye.

He didn't stay for a glory kill.

Because his target wasn't this Tyrant, but the massive gate leading underground behind the Tyrant.

There, the aura of evil was a hundred times stronger than up here.

  That was the real lair.

The Slayer rushed to the gate.

He didn't look for a switch.

He stowed his weapons and clenched his fists.

  Blood Punch charged.

  THUD!!!

A punch slammed into the heavy gate.

Although it didn't blow it open directly, the terrifying force caused the entire massive door to cave inward with a huge dent.

The Slayer stepped back half a pace.

  Another punch.

  THUD!!!

The gate groaned under the unbearable load, cracks beginning to spread.

In the Slayer's eyes, there was only that path leading deeper.

  No matter what was ahead.

No matter where the real Thousand-Eyed Tyrant was hiding.

As long as he was still charging.

As long as his weapons were still in his hands.

  Nothing could stop him.
