Chapter 37: Forging in the Stone Press Hell

Just as they rode the bull into the Ninth Layer, the deafening impact sounds almost shook Singularity off the bull's tail.

There was no sky here, only countless massive black stones suspended in mid-air. Following some rhythm, they continuously smashed into the ground, then rose again.

With every smash, the ground trembled violently, kicking up clouds of stone dust.

"This is the 'Ten Thousand Weight Crushing Array'!" Singularity shouted. "The gravity here is fifty times that of the outside world! And those stones are Meteoric Iron from beyond the heavens, extremely hard!"

Slayer rode the Bull Demon King, weaving through the gaps between the falling stones.

Although the Bull Demon King was thick-skinned, seeing those giant stones smashing deep pits into the ground made its legs go soft. It could only rely on Slayer's riding skills to barely dodge.

Slayer wasn't in a hurry to leave.

He patted the Bull Demon King's neck, signaling it to stop in a relatively safe corner.

From his dimensional pocket, he pulled out a large pile of materials collected earlier:

Demon Bull Horns (from Bull Pit Hell), Demon Bone Powder (from Golden Chicken Mountain), High-Energy Crystals (from various Bosses).

He dumped these things on the ground.

Then, he looked at a giant stone nearby that was moving up and down rhythmically.

  Thud—Up.

  Thud—Up.

Slayer pointed at that stone, then at the materials on the ground.

  Singularity understood instantly.

"You want to... borrow the pressure here to press bullets?"

  Singularity's eyes lit up.

"That idea is spot on! Rune bullets need extremely high density to carry mana; ordinary molds can't press them solid enough! But here..."

Singularity immediately pulled dozens of high-strength alloy molds from his backpack.

"Come on! I'll mix, you feed!"

Singularity began mixing gunpowder like a mad chemist.

"Three parts bone powder, one part crystal, add some sulfur... mix well... load!"

He filled the mixed high-energy gunpowder into the shell casings, then placed a polished Demon Bull Horn warhead on top.

Then, he placed these semi-finished molds directly under the landing point of that giant stone.

Slayer stood by, staring at the stone.

The moment the giant stone fell.

  BOOM!

Dozens of tons of pressure instantly acted on the molds.

Ordinary items would have shattered long ago. But these specially made molds and materials underwent a marvelous physical change under high pressure.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

The gunpowder was compressed to the extreme, density comparable to metal. The warhead and casing fused perfectly, the surface even generating a crystallized protective film due to the high pressure.

  The giant stone rose.

Singularity used telekinesis to retrieve the molds.

  Opening the molds.

Rows of bullets emitting a dark golden glow appeared.

  [Item: Gravity High-Pressure Round.]

[Traits: Ultra-high density, Armor Penetration Level MAX, creates a micro-gravity collapse upon impact.]

  [Evaluation: One shot, one kid.]

"Perfect! Too perfect!" Singularity picked up a bullet, feeling its heavy weight. "With this density, punching through a tank is child's play!"

Slayer picked up a bullet, weighing it in his hand.

  Heavy. Excellent feel.

He skillfully reloaded his double-barreled shotgun.

  Click-clack.

He turned, looking at a Mancubus trying to sneak attack from a distance. This thing had thick skin and high health, usually taking several shots.

  Slayer raised his gun.

  BANG!

There was no huge explosion sound, only a dull tearing noise.

That high-pressure bullet instantly pierced through the Mancubus's thick fat layers and armor, then generated a gravity collapse point inside its body.

The Mancubus didn't even scream; its entire body looked like it was sucked by a vacuum cleaner, collapsing inward, finally shrinking into a meatball and falling to the ground with a plop.

  One-Hit Kill.

  Slayer nodded.

This was the firepower he wanted.

For the next half hour, the Stone Press Hell turned into an arsenal.

Singularity mixed -> Placed molds -> Stone pressed -> Slayer collected.

  Assembly line operation, amazing efficiency.

Until Slayer's ammo pouch was stuffed full, and even the Bull Demon King's saddlebags were crammed with bullets.

Slayer remounted the Bull Demon King.

He glanced at those giant stones still working tirelessly.

  "Pressure vs Craft."

For the weak, pressure is destruction.

For the strong, pressure is a necessary condition for shaping.

"This pressure is just right for pressing bullets."

Singularity packed up the molds, looking at the fully loaded Slayer, and sighed:

"Great, now no matter how hard the bone we encounter later, we can crack it open."

"Next chapter, Tenth Layer: Mortar and Pestle Hell (Chong Jiu Di Yu). Giant medicine pounding jars? Slayer seems to still be collecting some raw material? He says the gunpowder still isn't strong enough."
