There were 200 soldiers all in all from the infantry detachment. This gave them a decent workforce to make defenses under the instructions of the few engineers they had.
The first order of business was figuring out troop rotations. Next, was sending out a patrol. Nivka figured that 1 mech on patrol, one guarding, and one resting was going to be the best they were getting, and gave her orders.
Zerra was first out, with a squad of infantry with her. They headed out after she had eaten something and pissed. Jameson, being the supportive comrade that he is, laughed at her. Zerra flipped him off.
Nivka smiled, chuckled, and found a seat outside. She lit a smoke and took in the air.

After a few minutes, her cigarette burned out, and she got up. She headed to the bathroom, and did her business. She then ate, finally taking a quick shower with one of the very few showers on site.
She headed to their detachments resting quarters, and took one of the communal cots that were quickly assembled. Feeling clean, with food in her and a bit of warmth, she fell asleep within the minute.
