Chapter 3 – The Experiment

  After the test, the students went to the rooms allotted to them by the AI, Veda. Everyone was in a terrified state.

  Krishna thought to himself, The spaceship is customizing the environment to look like Earth to comfort the students. It has even added a Day-Night cycle within the Glass Dome.

  NCC Cadet Aditya approached the group and said, "This is a critical situation. According to the mad Dr. K, the ship is heading to Planet Pourra. Right now, we have no choice but to live with them. He hasn’t done anything to us yet, so calm down. We need to get some sleep."

  The students eventually went to sleep.

  The next morning, AI Veda made an announcement: "Attention all students. Please go bathe. Breakfast will be ready in the Cafeteria at 8:00 AM sharp. Do not be late."

  All the students arrived at the cafeteria on time. When they saw the breakfast, they were surprised. They wondered how the aliens were able to make human food on the ship.

  Veda explained to them, "Our ship uses clean energy absorbed from the sun, or from fueling stations. We can use this energy to synthesize any type of food in the universe."

  The students were amazed. When breakfast ended, the Alien, Dr. K, made an announcement. Everyone gathered on the ground.

  "Now, my test subjects are ready for the experiment," Dr. K said with enthusiasm.

  Som asked, "Hey Dr. K, what type of experiment will you do on us?"

  "Good question," Dr. K replied. "Here, I want to learn about your physical limits, psychology, and emotions, and how you survive in space."

  Suddenly, a student lunged to attack Dr. K, but Dr. K dodged it easily.

  "Nice try," Dr. K sneered. "But I do not want to waste my test subjects, so let that be the first and last time you try that."

  We failed, Krishna thought.

  Dr. K continued, "Now, let’s start. First, we will pass a cosmic ray through your body. This ray allows your body to mutate so you can survive in any environment in this universe, But it is not tested in any human before so it can cause some side effect or you will lose your life."

  " Now who will volunteer?"

  Everybody was stunned and look to each other.

  Dr K said "If no one volunteers, I will use the ray on all of you at once."

  That statement afraid all student ,then the NCC senior, Aditya, raised his hand. Following his lead, Krishna, Shiva, Siddharth, Devraj, and many others raised their hands.

  Dr. K smiled. "The one who raised his hand first, come here. Take the radiation ball and place it in the Minimizer."

  Aditya stepped forward and took the heavy radiation ball. However, as he moved to place it into the machine, his grip slipped, and the ball fell.

  Krishna and Shiva ran to catch it, trying to prevent the fall, but they failed. The ball hit the floor and shattered. Radiation scattered instantly throughout the entire ship. Everyone was blasted by the cosmic rays at maximum intensity.

  One by one, everybody lost consciousness, except for Dr. K.

  After some time, Krishna regained consciousness, nursing a splitting headache. Many other students were already awake.

  Riya, a student from the NSS, said, "Rest, Krishna. You and your friends were closest to the radiation ball, so you were affected more than the others."

  Krishna suddenly remembered Aditya was the closest. "What happened to Aditya sir?" he asked.

  "Your sir is alright," Riya assured him. "He took the heaviest dose, but he will heal soon. Don't worry about him."

  "That is very good news," Krishna sighed.

  Just then, Dr. K entered the room to examine the students.

  "The experiment was successful," he announced. "I admit there were some problems at the beginning, but we did it. Now, you can survive in any environment. However, the radiation level was very high; it has altered your genes. It may have even enhanced them... you may have gained some powers. Best of luck, my subjects. We will meet tomorrow."

  He left the room.

  The next morning, all the students felt something strange. Their bodies surged with new energy. Some discovered fire abilities, others water.

  Krishna realized he had the some power, he now able to preserve of anything even energy. Shiva had the Power of Destruction. Lokesh had the Power of Creation. Siddharth possessed the Buddha Hand. Devraj crackled with the Power of Lightning.

  Many other students discovered abilities as well.

  Somewhere in the ship, Dr. K laughed in an evil tone. "Now... my experiment is truly successful.
