Assistance in corporate vanity.

Ava watched Maya disappear from the room she was occupied in and the elevator she entered in zip through the tower’s height.

Ava just watched her disappearance from the room that is hosting the quantum computer; she left the room somewhat tired.

Somewhat tired but craving company, she decided to join Maya on her floor. She pressed the elevator’s controls before the elevator sprang to life and started super-speed before reaching the floor.

As she reached the floor, the elevator slid open, where two females could be seen; one was Maya in her blouse and blazer, speaking with a female whose hair was tied in an updo, and her figure appeared to be curvy.

She had rectangular eyeglasses and was wearing a suit.

Ava gazed at the upstanding lady; she stared at the lady, while Maya crossed her arms, and her finger went left and right—appearing to debate with Miss Veronica.

Until Maya’s head glanced at Ava before facing the lady, “She is here,” and the lady turned, her African complexion and her rectangular eyeglasses even more prominent.

“So this is the girl who fixed that Quantum computer.”

Ava, somewhat shy, looked at Maya, unsure what to say, before Maya said, her palm pointing at Ava, “Veronica, this here is our special guest.”

Veronica stepped forward with palm open, “How lovely it is to see you.”

“Ava, am I correct? ”She raised her hand, inviting Ava to shake hands with her.

Ava forces an awkward smile and shakes her hand. “Of course. It’s me, Ava.”

Veronica expressed with vehemence, “A pleasure to meet you.” She soon turned her head around—facing Maya—then asked, “So where is that obnoxious Playboy boss of yours? ”

“Still going on a pathetic rendezvous with those poor girls”

Maya didn’t answer and just placed her hands on her waist, her eyes staring down before closing her eyes with a sigh, “Oh, you know him….”

“It’s typical. But for now, let’s not bother with any topics related to him.

Veronica retorted, “Hmph, and here you are, the most decent person in this building.”

Veronica then looks at Ava, who appears confused between the two people.

Veronica then raises her finger accusingly, “What about her? Is she a conquest? ”

Maya turned around towards Ava. “Oh, her? Is she a conquest of his, a beautiful lady he keeps around his shoulders? Well, she is proving herself more than that.”

Veronica listened to Maya, her head facing her before turning to Ava after hearing Maya’s words as she made a slight smile with her full lips, “Well, should I go and accompany you?”

  Ava nodded. “Please do so.”

The both soon walked towards the elevator. Ava then asked, “So you are Veronica, I mean Miss Veronica. I presume you are here to help me regarding fashion?” You know ‘work fashion’?

Veronica’s eyes turned confident; she stopped at her waist and stopped as she smiled, assured, “Of course, it will be my pleasure.”

Veronica continued to walk with grace and power, hips swaying in a way that was natural but giving off a sense of power and identity.

Ava would watch her hips sway with interest. “You must have been a model…” she noted, showing how her hips sway and give off power.

Veronica looked at her and nodded. “Yeah, I am; I used to be one.”

Veronica then asked while walking with Ava, “Have you ever tried asserting yourself with fashion? ”

  Ava answered, “Not properly so.”

“I began to have a habit of employing my beauty for some gains. Beauty is a tool I wield, but of course, I am just one human. I am not particularly flawless.”

Veronica smiled as they entered the elevator and said, “Don’t worry, you want to look breathtaking; people can’t help but gasp at your presence.”

“You will make a good fashionista.”

Veronica then clenched her hand. “I will make sure to plant the seeds of a new plant in the fashion world,” as they descended to a floor where clothing sponsors were around.

Veronica and Ava soon exit the building; Ava follows like an intrigued student of hers. There were many booths around; she looked at high-end booths featuring blouses, trench coats, and other clothing.

Veronica’s eyes then begin to dilate, her gaze becoming steady with a smile. “I think I know what type of girl you would be.”

Ava then turned around with confusion in her chin. “What do you mean? ”

Veronica said with interest and sassiness, “Darling, you will be killing it.”

“Now, let’s get this straight, you want to slay in the work area, right? ”Veronica stared at Ava, to which Ava responded with a nod.

Veronica then nods with a confident smirk; she raises her finger on one booth with a chic white woman with a tie on her front with a black coat and a medium-length navy skirt.

“Ay, check that outfit out; it looks like something you will be wearing on your first day of work. You want the chic type of clothing, right? ”

“AM I RIGHT?! ” Veronica made her voice more abrasive and loud, to which Ava nodded, “Yes, yes! ”

“Please,” Ava responded rather demurely. She slowly sauntered to the outfit before slowly taking it off the hook and holding it.

Ava would bring the outfit and head to the changing room; inside the changing room, she would look at the mirror and remove her old blouse and replace it with a new white chic-like cloth with a bow tie around the collarbone part of the cloth.

She then puts on a blazer and then raises the medium-length navel skirt around her waist before staring at the mirror.

From the reflection was a woman of complete and utter elegance and femininity, with cascading jet-black hair—her deep almond-green eyes were emerald with the chic bow tie that was like an ocean of pristine milk and silk, like torrents of her porcelain skin; she was made of silk with a corporate feel.

Her medium-length navel skirt was flowing with tactility and fertility.

  “This…. Looks too good? ”

“Too good, too fragile, but intelligent”

Veronica awaits in her place, near the booth, before emerging as a spectacle, drawing the eyes of citizens and a few scientists. As if flowers were blossoming, many people were entranced by Ava’s outfit.

However, Veronica placed her hand on her chin. “Hmmmmm, you look good. Yes, but that’s not what I imagine you to be.”

Ava then glanced at Veronica; even when people there were influential or had enough credits to be there, they were glancing at her figure and her outfit, like it was a cream of torrent milk in a corporate world.

Veronica looked at Ava before gazing at her legs. “You are forgetting some new pantyhose and heels that should fit your work style more.”

“Go on, add the final touch to your outfit.”

Veronica then directs her to a booth selling pantyhose and new heels. “Here, wear these and see how it goes for you.”

Ava nodded before heading to the changing room, where she would wear her pantyhose and high heels before emerging 10 minutes later.

Veronica smiled and said, “Not bad… Ava… Not bad…”

The pantyhose and high heels were enough to make her look like a porcelain Asian Barbie doll, causing some people to glance at her.

Veronica nodded. “Moving on, let’s go find you some more new clothes.”

“I am tired of old-fashioned dressing; it’s time we use technology to help ourselves.”

Veronica headed to a laboratory where they were working behind the acrylic window. She grabbed a tablet-like mirror and announced, “She will be borrowing this; this is from the HQ’s secretary’s demands.”

The technician would raise his hands with resignation before waving his head, “Ooohhhh, ehhhh,” with clear frustration.

Veronica returns to Ava’s proximity, where Veronica presents a tablet-like device. “Here, try this on, see if Augmented Reality (AR) helps”

Veronica lifts the tablet-like mirror to Ava, where a futuristic market of blue hues starts to do camera recognition of her face.

Soon, the computing begins inside the tablet-like mirror, where it begins to simulate in real time her wearing a variety of clothes with her figure and countenance in it.

Veronica picked the clothing, and she showed it to Ava, generating a version of her in an elegant long-sleeved lace outfit with a black shirt; another version is her in a red dress with a V-neckline; and the other one presents an outfit of hers with leggings and a form-fitting shirt with a square neckline.

Ava was fascinated by the functions of the mirror device and commented with interest, “This is an interesting technology, Veronica. Is this a grab for sale? ”

Veronica smirked with sassiness, “Uh-uh, this isn’t for sale, cupcake,” her finger turning accusatory, pointing at her, then waving it with dismissal.

Veronica then said, “Why don’t we go for something futuristic?” She double-tapped on the display and held the tablet in front of Ava, where it generated a version of her in a suit. Ava moved her limbs and rotated her waist femininely; the suit was clearly in sync with her figure.

The suit resembled a graphene bodysuit with teal-like shoulder strips; even her hands were enveloped in graphene fabric.

Veronica then handed the device to Ava, with Ava holding the device in her hands.

Ava’s eyes widened as he held the tablet with his own hands; her eyes reeked of greed, so she impulsively started to acquire the schematic, workings, and algorithms, illegally downloading the schematic. Soon the tablet began to summon a warning sign.

  “This device has been compromised.”

Veronica then snatched the tablet out of her hands. “Now, what did you do to the tablet? ”Veronica tried to fix it with her fingers, tapping on the settings.

“Were you just hacking it? ” her eyes in disbelief

Ava held her hands up, cornered—all her feminine saturation based on Veronica’s choosing has faded, leaving Ava with her guilt-pressure.

Soon a ‘swish’ noise could be heard descending down, electromechanically sliding the door slit open.

It was Maya; her eyebrows were frowned, and she was not satisfied. Arms crossed, and her brown bob-cut hair was in a state of disapproval.

She began to move; every movement of her was ‘corporate’ through a crowd. Her blazer and blouse were smoothly transitioning with her movement as she slowly approached Ava.

Her voice in total anger, “Did you hear, Veronica? That tablet is not for sale. This is company property! ”

Ava was there, her body tense as she was cornered by two corporate-esque individuals.

Ava began to scratch her back, her face in a grimace, and apologized, “I am sorry, Maya. I didn’t know what came over me.”

Maya could be heard breathing, but she began to seethe under pressure. Veronica then glanced at Maya with a level of professional restraint.

She then looked at Ava with a curiosity and imagination swelling up in her eyes.

Maya then touched her own forehead and said, “Anyways, did you find what you were looking for with the fashion advisor, Miss Veronica? ”

Ava nodded with a smile before speaking up, “Yes, I have. I am very satisfied with Miss Veronica’s company and help.”

Her feet started to move, and she confessed with her deep-green eyes, “But I am getting tired of the whole chic fashion; it’s getting way too repetitive for me.”

She then makes a comment, “I like the shirt though.”

Veronica asked, “What shirt, dear? ”

“Could you elaborate or specify the shirt you were referring to?”

Ava held her own hands surmounted by temptation when Veronica stopped her and said, “Uh uh, no! You are not doing that again.”

Ava’s face turned into resignation and boredom while Veronica used her finger, the tablet facing Ava.

Ava instructed, “Scroll down,” to which Veronica responded.

  “A little down,” Veronica complied.

“There, there.” Ava uses her fingers to point at a square-neck shirt-looking picture.

Veronica smiled. “Very well. I can see your fondness for that shirt; would you want it? ”

Ava nodded, “Yes! Very much so.”

Veronica then walked off with gratitude, rotating to her side and politely instructing, “Follow me,” to which Ava complied as they descended to the first floor and were about to exit the building.

Maya then started approaching Ava from behind, violently stopping her locomotion as if she interrupted Ava.

“Ava…. For proprietary sake, you should at least delete all the information you have of the product whose schematics you illegally attempted to steal.”

“Lest you force me to sue you by charge.”

Ava slightly panicked; her mouth and eyes turned tense before returning to their nominal state, and she responded, “I can try to forget what I learned about the device.”

Ava then told Veronica, “Could you give me a moment? ”

Veronica responded, “Of course.” She stood back and watched as Ava stood there like a doll, her eyes straight and focused.

Ava deleted every remaining piece of technical data she had on the device; however, the more she looks into her epistemology, the more she realizes she couldn’t delete her understanding of it.

Every data download was already carried over to her subconscious like it was a mere technical understanding, like knowing that glue is made from animals and collagen, except that every detail she knows regarding the device was already known to her.

She looked at Maya and said, “I already deleted the information from my banks, but I somewhat know how it works,” her confession tinged with a pang of guilt.

Maya responded, “Seriously, you are that clever? ”

Ava nodded. “Yes, I am willing to pay you my money as compensation for stealing the internal schematics and its algorithms.”

Maya held her arm up, her hand stopping Ava, and said, “That won’t be enough, but it would be sufficient. It didn’t have to be like this.”

Maya then saunters near Ava with a reassuring and forgiving vibe to her attitude, her hand touching the shoulder of Ava. “You don’t need to pay the whole; you are the mind behind the Quantum Mega Computer repair, don’t you remember? ”

Maya furthered her words with hope: “So don’t worry… You possess a value that our corporation is willing to embrace.”

Maya then hardens her hand on her shoulder, “However, because of what you did. You have a debt with me now; you will work in our company as a consultant.” Maya shook her head, and her hair waved.

Maya then finished her sentence, “If only the company needs you, I will be in charge of requesting your assistance.”

Ava smiled and suggested, “How about if I have the same hair length as you? Let’s say eight centimeters.”

Maya flushed; as she stood back with her brunette short-bun hair and her professional suit, she began to arc her mouth upward, teeth grinding, wincing at Ava’s words.

Maya then began to compose her embarrassment. “Uhm, okay, I can appreciate that.”

Maya turned around as she began to walk; her eyes were resolute, and her eyebrows were furrowed.

Veronica asks Ava professionally, “Should we continue? ” Ava nodded as they left the building, seeing the skies, the cities, the skyroads, and the people.
