Anxiety after a euphoric night

Ava woke up to find herself under a blanket. She looked up; her slight makeup felt smudged.

Her eyes scanned around while holding her blanket in front of the air conditioning. Her sensations felt unusual.

She looked down while holding the blanket to her neck. Her head felt confused, unable to integrate what had just happened yesterday.

She just had time for hedonism for herself, in her moment of selfishness, but she began to question herself. She even admits to screaming at night.

She scratched, appearing irritated. Biting her teeth, as if she had no idea what to do with her own mind.

Soon, she felt even worse for herself. She asked herself, “Did I just do that?”

  “I.. I just wanted company, I”

“I can’t appear to make a logical justification.”

Soon her legs set foot on the floor, feathers-like, with a melodious stomp. Soon she finds herself tightening her clothes to her own body.

She picked up her phone from the top of the drawers, feeling irritated, as if her head and hair were becoming confused.

She went on to call, and her leg began to fidget erratically while standing - the sooner he answered, her voice burst with a hysterical tone, “Henry! Where are you?!”

Henry stood quietly and ended the phone call, not responding, attempting to dodge the situation. He texted, “You can use that money to buy yourself an Uber driver.”

Ava felt irritated, she typed furiously, “Excuse me, an Uber driver?! You must be batsh*t crazy.”

  “Is that how you treat?”

She hurled insults; her head was chaotic; however, she was instead ghosted.

Ava’s anger boiled over because she was ignored, causing her annoyance.

She was in turmoil, and she started to have mixed feelings about her, and she scratched her mind with red in her cheeks.

She chuckled to herself, as she rested on the coach, blaming herself, “What’s wrong with me. Just what’s wrong with me?”

She expressed herself, saying, “Is this my life now? HUH!” before calming down.

“Gosh, that was so stupid, I was all screaming while he was atop of me, calling me ‘kitty’ and stuff”

“Sweet words, while making me moan”

She punched the arm of the coach, “And it felt like nothing in the end.”

“Maybe I was at fault, either I use him or he uses me for body,” with disappointment etched on her face.

She stormed out of the coach until she arrived outside the villa with the door open in defiance.

Ava tried to recall, first and foremost, that she couldn’t deny that she had pleasure, her first time losing her virginity.

“Yes, I did feel good there. It was a rough one.”

  “My mind even exploded.”

  “I didn’t care about anything.”

“He keeps calling me a kitty and treating me like one.”

She was a Stockholm to him at night, but admitted the feeling now was hollow, the lack of divinity, but that she and he were mere tasty juice.

Ava, in irritation, checked her phone, her head waved in frustration, and she said to herself with resignation, “It’s not much of a big deal… Come on”

But her eyelids looked down, she mumbled silently, “Maybe the android was right… I am just a pretty face.”

Soon her eyelids landed straight at Maya, a cute android not wearing a provocative plunging V-neckline dress, but this time with formalism.

She approached her rather stoically, “Are you okay?” with concern, but it was mixed with professionalism.

Ava looked at Maya; she was cautious of her. She could tell she was professional, but she didn’t feel cold either.

She looked at her brown-bob cut hair with neon streak at hair-length, saying, “I am okay. Your boss left me in the building.”

Maya’s iris turned even bluer as if it was flickering, as if it was analyzing her, “I understand, I went to the pharmacy and bought these drugs for you to feel better. I also detected high levels of cortisol, so I came here of my own will.”

“You are inexperienced, so you are prone to instability after such encounters.”

“Your mental health is a priority.”

Ava nodded, respecting the cordiality of the android and acknowledging the prescribed drugs inside the canister.

Maya walked near Ava and said, “This will soothe your nerves.”

Maya, with calmness, placed the pills in her hand as she swallowed them.

Ava then asked Maya, “Should we go inside the villa and talk?”

Maya nodded, her other hand on her back, in her formal suit.

She sat with Ava in the living room, even offering a place for Ava to sit with her hospitable gestures of hand, and asked, “So, how was your time with Henry last night?”

Ava, with hesitation, gasped for air, “It’s alright. The night was nice, I had fun,” but then Ava began to pause herself, her eyelids bounced around.

“But then. The next day, he left me and told me to get an Uber. I have mixed feelings, like I want to be with him, like an obsession, and just touch him.”

Maya slowly nodded, “I understand. Did he tell you about himself and his former companions?”

Ava answered with a nod and expressed her feelings, “I wanted to be closer to him, despite his flaws…. But I think I am falling for him. An illogical submission.p”

Maya waved her head with disappointment. She bent her spine and asked, “Now, why do you think you could fix him?”

Ava interrupted and said, “Fix him… No, I am not going to fix him. But but”

Maya bluntly said, “Zip it! You are not going to have a romance with him, IT’S impossible! Everything he does is merely a moment of transaction.”

This bluntness and straightforwardness cause Ava’s reflexes, “Why do you care! At least I got some company.”

Maya calmed herself down, breathing in before looking back at Ava, “Okay. Just listen to me, you. You are better than this, Ava. I know you are different from a normal being. I can scan your brain.”

“What I mean is, you have the agency to choose.”

Ava smirked, her arm draped on the coach's top, “Ah, so you think I am smart. Good”

Maya then said, “You are human ontologically, even though I struggle with that. But what I am saying is, you have your own dignity.”

Her hand was trying to convince her.

Maya then looked at the ceiling to the left with her hands on her lap and confessed, “Well. I used to be until I was damaged.”

“Then I pledge my loyalty to my boss and the William Corporation. Duties are priority at the forefront.”

“So it’s up to you, if you want to think I am here for damage control or to ensure your wellbeing with sincerity.”

Ava understood. She was becoming a tad rational with curiosity, “I see. What do you suppose I should do?”

Maya answered, “Well, you got the brains, the enhancements, the body of a model. You are capable of anything.”

Maya loudens her voice, “BUT! If you think you can romance with him, or have him as a companion, even with my cautions, you are sorely mistaken.”

Maya then stood up, tightening her formal clothes, her bowtie, blazer, and even flapping her hands on her working trousers, “I am just here to give you some awareness, and I will repeat what I said. Henry cannot be with you, Ava…. He does the things he does for his image; he may have a capacity for love, but I caution you to look the other way around.”

Maya walked forth, about to exit the door, and looked back, “So. If you want to keep hanging out with him, be careful. If you have dignity, do your best to steer clear of him.”

Ava responded, accepting her words, “Well. I guess I could say I am aware. I will make sure to upend the upset and optimize myself.”

“I am partially to blame for this.”

“Cheer up, Ava. There are a few girls he would rather not mess with, one of them is Lila. And she won’t even like it for a single bit.”

“And he is rather well behaved around her, though a jerk.”

Ava’s face turned to a detective and asked, “Who is Lila?” Maya arched her smile and answered stolidly, “Not someone you should concern yourself with. You will know soon.”

Ava heard it and responded, “I see.” She stood up and concluded, “I have already decided what I am going to do now,” as she walked behind Maya’s back and exited.

She raised her phone, while Maya observed her back. In her augmented reality vision, she could access the contents of her phone, and she could see she was trying to hire an Uber driver, where her augmented reality vision caught her attention.

“Genesis Innovation”, Maya gasps with curiosity. Maya touched her own chin and said, “Interesting…” She silently noted to herself.

Maya, with opportunism, approached Ava, “Don’t you mind if I interrupt a bit?”

Ava held to her phone before looking back and asking, “What’s up?”

Maya smiled, with a proposal, “I can offer you a ride, but in return, you tell me about this place you are going.”

Ava’s shown amusement, her head tilted, “You seriously have to hack my phone.”

Maya de-escalates, “Come on now, don’t forget the drugs I gave you to feel better.”

With her smiling in her formal suit, a complete 360 from her professionalism.

Ava responded with hesitation, “Hmmm… Hmmm, I don’t think so.”

Maya’s eyes focused with seduction, her torso bent, “Are you sure…” she whispered to her ears and said, “I have a hover bike, the back of it had ion thrusters, you are missing out” before straightening her spine, her hands on her waist with confidence, aside from her petite form.

Ava gave in, somewhat impressed. She childishly touched her face and exclaimed, “YES PLEASE!”

Maya responded with, “That’s more like it. Let me just get my hoverbike real quick.” She began to turn to a hover hidden somewhere on the corners of the villa.

She came out, sitting on the hoverbike, driving it gracefully, slowly moving near Ava with a helmet.

Ava’s eyes widened, “Wow. Cool motorbike. Give me a ride!” She went next to the motorbike and sat behind her.”

Maya took off her helmet and gave it to Ava, prompting her to wear it, causing Ava to tease with sarcasm, “Too cool for a helmet?”

Maya, with glee, reminded, “I am an android, remember. I don’t feel things humans do.” She stepped on the pedal, and the ion thrusters began to roar, blasting off.

The hoverbike glided until it reached the air. She entered the skyroads, even going as far as to defy air traffic conventions, blitzing everything, even moving under the skyroads.

There was air traffic that could be observed, Ava’s hand held to Maya’s back as she drove with thrill and speed.

Soon, the hoverbike detached from skyroads, and in the air, she could see the towers and mountains.

She would outspeed the hover cars, while Maya laughed, and enjoyed driving the hoverbike.

She drove as if she were playing a car race with anyone, with a sense of arrogance. Soon, the towers and mountains disappeared.

Maya, who was driving the hoverbike, asked with interest, “So you work at Genesis Innovation, correct?”

Ava smiled, “You look too far, Miss Android.”

Maya answered, “I know, it’s unethical, but I can’t help it,” as the hoverbike boosted off into the air.

It soon reached near the research building, it then slowly halted, and Maya took off her pedal to the ground. She returned to her professional attitude, “We are here now.”

“Also, in case we might need each other, can I have your InterChat?”

Ava answered with calm satisfaction, “Yeah, do you want me to add you?”

Maya nodded, “Just tell me your username.”

Ava smirked, head shaking off, “No… Way, I don’t trust you fully, you”

She hesitated for a bit, closed her eyes and breathed in and out, and said, “How about this. You give me yours instead.”

Maya complied and told her her InterChat username, and Ava willingly used her phone from her secure pocket and interacted with it before passing it to her.

“Can’t you just do that with your own head? You know, add me to your Internet of Things brain?”

Ava awkwardly said, “Uhhh, I don’t know. I don’t try to rely too much on cybernetics,” causing Maya’s face to blank and react, “Boring. But fair enough, I guess. Maya used Ava’s phone and added her to contacts.

Ava took off her helmet and gave it back to Maya, where Maya returned to the hoverbike, her feet on the paddle as she.

To which Ava then said to her, “We will talk sometime, some time, Maya.” Maya wore the helmet, made a subtle salute, and drove off.

The hoverbike glided off, leaving Ava alone near a research facility, connected with her goal of discovery. The same large facility, with an ominous feeling. Ready to embark, as her head looked up.
