The Tank

“…what?! But what is this?” Triff exclaimed, very confused.

Inside that room there was a huge tank containing a blue liquid and it was connected to thousands of cables, two of which were the ones that Triff, Berto, and Hot Head had been following.

There seemed to be some things inside the tank… they moved closer until they started hearing noises that sounded like voices…

Until they noticed that inside the tank there were several CPUs, such as the one Triff had found.

“So this is the place that is connected to the CPU… but… what are these CPUs doing in this tank?”

They moved closer until the voices began to become clearer.

  “T-take… me… out… of… here…..”

  “Help……..”

  “H-help… me…..”

“They are suffering?” Berto asked, very curious.

“It looks like it…” Triff said, disturbed by all of it.

Even Hot Head, who is normally always shouting, remained silent, disturbed by what he was hearing.

“But wait…. how can those CPUs talk? The only CPUs that can talk are… the ones that belong to robots….” Berto concluded.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“WHAT KIND OF PLACE IS THIS?!” Triff said, very perplexed by what was happening.

  …

“Have you never wondered what happened to those who disobeyed Garlon?” said a voice that appeared behind them.

“MARC! DON’T SCARE US LIKE THAT, DARN IT!” Hot Head shouted.

“Ah! Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you! hahaha…” Marc apologized.

“But go on… what were you going to say?” Triff asked.

“Well… this is the place where those who disobey Garlon are sent… it’s a form of torture… that’s all I know… but I feel like there are more reasons for him to do this.” Marc said.

“That makes sense…. But that means he steals their CPUs? And what would he use them for?” Berto reflected.

“I DON’T KNOW BUT I KNOW WE HAVE TO TELL THE OTHERS!” Hot Head exclaimed.

“We can’t… we still don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle… but we’re close to discovering more….” Triff stated.

“You’re right… but where do we look? The wires lead to places we can’t follow, how are we going to find out where they go?” Berto asked.

“Well… for your information, we are LITERALLY under Rob Park, but going up there would be a huge risk,” Marc said.

“I know… but now that we’ve come this far we can’t give up… we have to go up there…” Triff said courageously.

“THAT’S RIGHT, SPRINGY!” Hot Head said proudly.

“But how do you think you’ll walk around the city without being caught?” Marc asked.

“I have an idea…” Berto said.

Moments later they climbed up through a sewer cover and went into the city, disguised with coats and hats to try to infiltrate, passing unnoticed through the crowd of almost identical people. They were disturbed, even though they knew they wouldn’t find anyone very special except Garlon on the city screens.

The sky was clear and there was a lot of traffic on the road, nothing out of the ordinary, but while they were walking, Triff had a bad feeling, but he tried to ignore it, thinking it was just another random anxiety attack.

Finally, they arrived at Rob Park and immediately began searching for clues, subtly so as not to attract anyone’s attention, until Hot Head spotted what seemed to be something hidden in the ground.

He called Triff and Berto and said:

“GUYS, LOOK! I THINK THEY DUG SOMETHING HERE!”

“Do you want to make even more noise so the pollinator robots can catch us?” Berto said sarcastically.

“Sorry…” Hot Head said in a low voice for the first and probably only time.

Then Berto dug to see what was there:

It was a metal box connected to the wires linked to the tank they had seen earlier.

Suddenly, a voice was heard behind them through a loudspeaker:

“PUT YOUR HANDS UP AND TURN AROUND SLOWLY!”

They were surrounded by mark-2 pollinator robots, stronger, faster, and more resistant than the regular pollinator robots.

Triff was so scared that he couldn’t move.

Berto and Hot Head removed their disguises and began fighting the mark-2 pollinator robots, because there was no other alternative in their minds.

They managed to defeat some, but they were getting very tired.

“DANG IT!!! THEY’RE TOO STRONG!” Hot Head exclaimed, beginning to panic.

“NOW we’re really screwed… it’s impossible for this situation to get any worse,” Berto said, already in despair.

Suddenly, one of the mark-2 pollinator robots flew above them and threw a capsule, which turned into a Tungsten cage and landed directly on Berto and Hot Head…
