Chapter 164 The Beast Golem

  When Aleshia called Kailey over, she paused her attempts to pull at the golem's limbs and turned to see what Aleshia was pointing at. To Kailey's surprise, she noticed an opening in the golem that she had overlooked in her haste.

  When Kailey peered inside the golem, she excimed, "Wow! There are so many intricate magic circles etched in here. But based on the sound it made when I knocked on it, I expected the inside of the body to be much smaller."

  "Huh, why do you say that?" Aleshia asked.

  "I conducted some tests by knocking on different parts of the golem's body and listening to the sounds they made. I noticed either hollow or solid tones, and the chest produced the deepest sound of them all," Kailey expined.

  Aleshia pced her hand gently on Kailey's forehead and tapped her head lightly. "I'm not sure what we can do with that information. However, since it seems you're unable to remove the limbs of this golem, why don't we start pulling on the heads of the other golems? That might lead to some discoveries."

  Kailey pyfully backed away, covering her forehead and turning her movement into a salute. "Aye, aye!" she excimed. She then moved over to the next closest golem, which had a unique appearance. This particur golem featured distinctly shaped ears instead of wings. The ears resembled those of a furry animal, but they looked more like an artist's rendition since they were ft triangles without any indentations.

  Looking over this golem's body, she noticed fur all over it. As she scanned the golem from head to toe, she discovered that it had a tail that looked like it would belong to a cat. Curious of the feeling, she knelt down, intentions crossed her mind, and stroked the tail. The sensation of cold fur rexed Kailey and brought her inner peace, but that was short-lived as Aleshia interrupted her by pulling her off it.

  "What are you doing, Aleshia?" Kailey whined as she tried to reach back for the golem's cat-like, calming tail, struggling in Aleshia's arms.

  Aleshia was armed by Kailey's behavior and carried her away from the beast-golem, even as Kailey continued to fil in her arms. "Now, now, just calm down. Why are you so worked up?" she asked, trying to soothe her.

  Once Kailey had settled, Aleshia asked about her reaction again. "What is it about that tail that has you so attached?"
