It is not all that fancy, but compared to what I currently have, this is a massive improvement on my equipment’s firepower. Eden reasons, as he goes to put away the axe. He does this to not scare any citizens nearby, though they would have already been scared of Eden swinging the axe around like a madman. Once he puts the axe away, he starts to look for a place to relax at; an inn of some sorts. It does not take long for Eden to find one, as it would seem that the tavern nearby is also an inn, at least according to the sign right outside. After a bit of time waiting outside, making sure he read the sign right, he looks at the massive tavern made of fancy woods. The exact material is unknown to Eden, but he still decides to walk inside, get a room, and maybe a nice drink or two.
As Eden looks around, he sees a bustling tavern, filled to the brim with rough looking men, each of which has some kind of weapon, be it a sword, spear, and even a few axes. There is also a much smaller, but still sizeable amount of women sitting about, mostly only one per table but there are two four-seater tables that are only women. But Eden talks little notice to them, as right past them, noisy adventurers and mercenaries are being served by some bartenders, who are both making and serving out drinks. Alongside them, a dozen female servers giving meat and more drinks to the intoxicated men at the tables. But nothing could compare to the sight Eden would see next. As Eden slowly starts to walk in he looks into the left corner of the room, he sees the most distinct rag-tag foursome of misfits Eden had ever seen. The first of the four was the Bigfoot-looking man with a giant axe on his back, chugging what looks to be his seven jugs of ale in competition to the elf to his front. This elf is a beautiful, white skinned woman with pointy ears, blonde hair, and emerald eyes. She also looks like the female ‘lead’ in certain types of manga, with god-damn how big those things are! Anyway, she has a cocky grin on her face as she is out drinking Bigfoot over here. To the right of the elf is a stereotypical looking old wizard with a massive staff next to his chair. The staff is made of a black wood and has an emerald core in the centre of the giant circle swirl at the top of the staff. The Wizard is wearing a massive blue hat with hundreds of yellow stars, and a wizard cloak of the same style as his hat. Finally, in front of the wrinkled wizard is a scabby, eye patched, peg legged pirate with a cutlass that looks more expensive than the whole tavern itself. Contrary to his fancy cutlass, he looks dishevelled, with a patchy beard, messy black hair, and dirty sailor attire. The pirate is calmly drinking his ale with his golden-hooked hand, arguing with the wizard in a language unknown to Eden, which happens to be Irish. The pirate is arguing about how a sword is better against a dragon compared to magic towards the English-speaking mage, who is clearly upset at such an insult. This misfitted crew profoundly confuses Eden and causes him to stare at them for a while, where Bigfoot is quick to notice once he finishes his 12th keg of bear.
“Was guckst du dir an?"(What are you looking at?) The giant hairy beast yells out to Eden. However, Eden has no clue on what the giant had said, but he can tell there was great aggression in his voice, and recoils in fear of the large beast. As the massive creature says this he stands up and starts to walk towards you, to which all the others in the tavern have already run out of the building, casting upon even greater terror than before. The giant man then draws his bloody battleaxe; splitting the wooden floor apart like tissue paper, leaving stains of blood where the slice is made.
"Es ist lange her, dass es jemand gewagt hat, mich herauszufordern! Ich hoffe also, dass Sie nicht entt?uschen, wie diese verdammten Nazis!” (It's been a long time since anyone dared to challenge me! So I hope you don't disappoint like those god-damn Nazi's!) The beast screams at Eden in pride. Eden, now even more confused about what is going on, starts to say something but the wizard interrupts.
“Wait Quatch! This man does not know what you are saying and is clearly not that strong! Do not go around killing more. I thought you stopped this madness when you assembled the 4th Reich all those years ago. He is not a Nazi, nor is there any proof that he is like one” The wizard proclaims in worry about his comrade killing another innocent man.
“Chip chip squeak squeal”(Oh don't be such a buzz kill X-xavier) The Elf says in their native language, chipmunk, brushing her hair off with her hand as she tilts her head away in disgust.
“Deirim go mbeimid ag tabhairt beatha dó do na héisc!”(I say we feed him to the fishes!) The pirate comments and a loud yell, raising his cutlass to the sky.
What the hell is going on? I got three people I can’t even come close to understanding, one of which sounds like a goddamn rat! The only one here I can talk to would be the wizard over there. Maybe he could fill me in on whatever the hell the others are saying Eden concludes, to which he begins to ask the group what is going on, and clarify that he cannot hear them.
“Hey, may I ask what you want from me? I have no idea what you are doing, and I cannot even understand what you are saying. The only language I know is English.” Eden says, as he now goes to look at the wizard. “Wizard guy, you seem to be the only one to speak English so can you tell me what they are saying?” Eden politely asks the wizard. But when he does this the giant appears to lose his bloodlust, as he puts away his axe while looking a little surprised, seeming to gain a message of sorts. Though that is of course not of your concerns. What is a concern is that Eden gains a system notification, however.

“Appears luck is on your side, little one. I did not know you had such a “power” The giant yells out, confusing Eden with his irrelevant comment.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
“I have no idea what you are talking about, but I had just received a message saying I learned a skill to interrupt different languages, so could any of you give me some kind of explanation on what is happening?” Eden asks the group, where the wizard seemed to want to respond, but Bigfoot talks over him.
“The wizard is right, you do not deserve to die, yet. Anyway, I am happy to oblige, or whatever you “civilized” people say. My name is Quatch, former leader of the 4th Reich and liberator of Germany. I am of the giant and flaker race, how do you?” Quatch says in a much more different way compared to before, much more polite if one could call it anything else.
“I am okay I guess. The name’s Eden.” Eden responds to Quatch, as he puts his battleaxe back on his back, and his grip hardens on it once Eden begins to talk some more.
“So, are you a Nazi then? Or at least a former one? I did not know that the Germans had giants, let alone not use them, but I guess we can chalk that up to-” Eden says but gets cut off.
“I AM NOT A FILTHY NAZI!!! I am a proud Kohen (Jewish priest) who rebelled and killed Hitler, with my own two hands!” Quatch rages at Eden, but is calmed down by the wizard.
“Stop Quatch! It was a fair judgment in his books. He would have no way of knowing how your world worked, and there is a good chance that your rebellion never happened in his timeline.” The wizard says to Quatch, who seems to calm down. But the wizard’s words only leave Eden with confusion.
Your world? So are there other worlds connected to the tower? No wait, that makes a lot of sense in hindsight, as how would this massive place be populated just from my world. Eden reasons, not noticing that Quatch was walking up to Eden, but this time with a small grin.
“Good to meet you Eden! Now as an apology for me almost killing you, let me get you something.” Quatch says as he walks Eden over to his table, who is left flabbergasted at the sudden tone shift, but quickly accepts the more favourable outcome. As they both get near the table, the elf sitting there sneers in disgust of the mere presence of Eden.
“Why did you have to grab some random newbie! It was already enough dealing with all of these disgusting other races, and now you want me to put up with a weak disgrace as well!” The Elf whines, showing none of the dignity one who expects of an elf. But then Quatch whispers in her ear, unheard by Eden, but it is rather unnecessary to dwell on the topic. The elf gains an astonished look on her face, but quickly turns it into a light smile before calming down. While the elf does this, Quatch grabs something out of a massive leaf bag from the elf and hands it to Eden. It is an axe that has a green glow around it. On closer examination, one could see some sigils and symbols on it, but Eden is unfortunately unable to see much because of the blinding green, clearly needing better perception in order to view the weapon. But while Eden is dazzled by the axe, Quatch drops it in his hands, but he immediately falls to the ground and gets a system notification.
Notice! User is unworthy to wield this item. User will be unable to move till the item is put away.
“Why did you give him the axe? You should know that he could not lift it, you moron!” The elf points out, yelling at Quatch. But the wizard almost instantly interjects with his own thoughts.
‘Come on Silva! Can you not seal the axe for the poor fellow? It is a spirit weapon after all.” The wizard interrupts with, which at first the elf appears to take the suggestion as an insult, but changes such an appearance to a more bratty one.
“Hhhhgggg, fine give me a second.” Silva reluctantly agrees, as she goes to grab the axe. Once she has obtained the axe, she does some spirit magic bullshit to seal the power of the axe, casting some spells that Eden has no clue what are. “There you go. Can you lift it now, human?” Silva says, as Eden grabs the now sealed axe. When he does so he is able to wield it, but the axe seems a lot weaker compared to his sturdy axe. It weighs less, and just feels off to Eden. It seems more like a glow stick than an actual weapon to Eden’s eyes.
Why did they give me this? It seems kind of worthless to me, now that I have the study axe at least. It does not even have a system page, so I cannot even tell the stats of it, no matter how incomprehensible they appear to be. But I guess free stuff is free stuff, and more weapons can never hurt. The better question is why Quatch is being a lot kinder now. Eden concludes, but finds no answer to his last thought. So instead he asks what Quatch wants from him.
“So what do you want from me Quatch?” Eden asks nervously, as he has no clue what such a madman will ask of him.
“Not much, not much at all. I just want you to cut down a few trees. You can do that, right?” Quatch answers, to which Eden quickly nods in hopes of not offending Quatch. What follows is Eden gaining a notification about a quest given to him.
Notice! User has been given a quest by Quatch!
Quest-
Light Chopping- (E)
Quatch, a famed lumberjack in Elderwood, has asked you to chop down a ‘few’ trees.
Requirements-
- Cut down 10,000 trees. (0/10,000)
- Give the logs to Quatch. (incomplete)
Rewards-
- Gain the lumberjack class.
- +5000 gold.
- +50 EXP.
Upon failure-
- Dislike from all residents of Elderwood.
- Hatred of Quatch and his gang.
Do you accept: Yes No
What! 10,000! Is he out of his damn mind? I have never even cut down 100 trees in my life! Not to mention how these rewards are not even that good! But if I do not do this, he might kill me going off his former bloodlust. There is no good option, but if I had to choose between wasted time or a wasted life; time is valueless without life. Eden realises, as he reluctantly accepts the quest.
You have agreed to the quest “Light Chopping”.
We pray for the success of user ‘Eden’.
“Come back when you are done cutting down those trees Eden!” Quatch yells at Eden once he accepts his quest. But once Eden starts to walk out of the tavern, Quatch gives strange advice to Eden.
“Make sure to use the axe we gave you.” Quatch also advises Eden, having no clue why, but does not want to argue with the man.
“See you in a bit.” Eden sadly responds, kicking himself over ever entering this place, as he walks out of the tavern. Once he as left the tavern, he then walks to the left, hoping this is where he was supposed to go, as he has no clue where he was supposed to cut down trees. Luckily however, Eden had guessed right as after a few minutes, he reaches the gate where some guards see him. Overhead you can see the tops of large trees. But as Eden is quietly celebrating this, one of the guards begins to talk.
“Halt! We need identification for you to continue. Please state your name and purpose for going outside.” The guard tells Eden in an orderly voice.
“Hello, my name is Eden, and I am going outside on Quatch’s order to cut down some trees.” Eden tells the guards. When they hear this they make an almost pitiful face full of sympathy for the poor soul that is Eden, making Eden a little scared.
“You are free to go, poor fellow.” The guard informs Eden with great sadness in his voice, losing all the professional power in his voice. “Enjoy cutting down those trees, if that is even possible.” The guard says, trying but failing miserably at sounding joyful for Eden’s predicament, as there is really no light in Eden’s tunnel, something that will soon be found out. The guards pull on some kind of chain attached to the gate, and after a few pulls the gate opens up, where Eden thanks the guards and begins to go through the door. It only takes Eden a few seconds after walking out before he sees an endless forest, full of weird and misshapen trees of many colours. There is just about no tree the same as the others, with the most similarity being the wood texture. But other than that, nothing looked alike.
Jesus there are a lot of different types of trees here. I could not tell if any of these trees are even of the same type of wood. Though, Quatch never told me what type of wood he wanted, so I guess I should grab whatever I can. Eden concludes, as he draws the unlabelled spirit axe and prepares to chop down some trees.
