  Breakthrough-2

  Brenton:

  I'm very nervous about the meeting that is happening soon. I'm so nervous that I can't eat. Nome is trying her best to comfort me by holding my hand or touching my leg, but it's not helping. My stomach is doing more flips than an olympic gymnast.

  It's not the fact that no one will believe me. I'm scared of the repercussions of my betrayal. I can only pray that I can be saved from what I'm about to do and say.

  I managed to eat a few bites of the deer steak. Nome asked me if I wanted to save my plate til we returned. I tell her yes, please, if I do return. She gives me a puzzling look. It was a look like someone gives when they think they heard something but wasn't sure if they heard it correctly.

  The table was cleared and the dishes were washed. Time to get this over with. I hope I can be spared.

  We go into the classroom. Layla, Liza, Lyidia, Stan, Sam and Sven were already waiting. Stan hands me a piece of paper the size of a sticky note and tells me to fold it and swallow it whole. I do as he said. Liza gives me the same size paper and tells me to let it melt in my mouth. I do it. Lyidia gives me her paper and tells me to chew it. Sam gives me his paper and tells me to let it melt. Sven's paper is bigger and he instructs me to put this paper under my shirt over my heart.

  I did everything they told me to do.

  I feel calmer, I'm completely at ease for the first time in my life, no tension in my muscles at all. I know I can do this now.

  Jackson motions for me to sit in a chair that is facing everyone. Everyone else is sitting in a semicircle facing me. I sit to begin telling my story from the beginning. I wait for the spell to start working but there is no foaming at my mouth, no feeling like my internal organs are splitting open. No pain in my heart at all. I feel nothing but peace within myself. So I finally started talking.

  I always knew Cecilia and Lyican were not my parents. Every time I went to the cells I would feel the bond of my parents. I couldn't do anything to save them because I was trapped just as much as they were, just in a different way. You already know that I saved my siblings from a fate worse than death. Yolanda having cancer was the perfect opportunity to sneak them out. What we didn't prepare for was Martha and Ervin.

  Eric raises his hand and I acknowledge him. He tells everyone that Yolanda and Richard hid them from Martha and Ervin until they both passed away, with everyone thinking we belonged to Yolanda and Richard. It was easy for Martha and Ervin to take us in but the plan was that they were going to return us to the lab. I don't know how anyone found out that we were going to be sent back but I'm thankful we weren't.

  Ryan speaks up and apologizes to everyone. She had lied. She said on one rare day she caught the thoughts of Martha. Her thoughts were dark. A bounty had been set for the return of the children. Her and Ervin had planned to return the children, collect millions of dollars and gain favor from the people in charge. She says, I'm sorry Alpha for lying about Martha being pregnant and not wanting the children anymore. At the time I didn't know if I told you the truth if you would believe me. It was only Hynes and my first day with you and I didn't know how you and your family would react to the truth.

  Jackson says he understands and would have done the same in her position. The most important thing is that the children are safe and have been reunited with their biological parents. Then nods for me to continue.

  I continue telling everyone that I did send letters with Eric hoping he would find a way to get them to everyone so Cecilia, Lyican, Dylan and that witch and warlock that calls themselves Dr. Z can be stopped.

  One of the letters I sent. The one about my rescue was found by Cecilia. I told her it was a way for me to infiltrate your pack knowing that Dianna was my cousin, she would easily let me in without questioning anything. I could find out inside information and if any of the family had the special talents they wanted.

  The day of my rescue, I was with Cecilia. She only allowed me to leave because she believed my explanation and also had a spell put on that if I told anyone the truth I would have a painful death. She told Maurice she and Lyican would be here in 5 months and if they hadn't arrived in the 5 months she told him to send an army after them. That she wanted the place to burn. She meant what she said. She does want it to burn but it's not to stop the experiments from happening. It's to destroy the paper trails of their findings and other lab locations plus the names, species, abilities and locations of other powerful supernaturals.

  This is where I know I'm going to die a horrible painful prolonged death. My breath hitches and tears roll down my cheeks and my nose starts dripping. I try to compose myself but it's useless. I say through my sobs and strained voice. It's because the experimental hybrids are cursed with a spell that when they kill the threats they will too parish. Leaving only Pure Blood Wolves. Geneva asks, Does that mean Eric, Lexie and Wren are cursed too? If only Pure Bloods are left, wouldn't that eventually wipe out the wolf race because of the inbreeding that would happen?

  I hear her question but I can't answer because I'm wondering when the pain of my death is going to happen. Ryan stands up and says BRENTON! LOOK AT ME! I do as she says and I look at her. She continues talking to me. Over dinner I read your thoughts wondering why you were so nervous. I linked everyone at the table telling them you were scared of telling us what was going on because of the cursed spell put on you. Layla then stands and says that is why we had you eat the papers. They were counter spells against the dark curse of death. Once you have told us everything the death curse will be broken. You are not going to die.   I screamed out. Nome comes up and hugs me until I'm composed enough to answer questions.

  I answer Geneva's questions. No, my siblings are not cursed. I made sure of that. The so-called two doctor Zs thought one or the other had cured them because of the scent that I made and was able to spray on them on their creation day. To answer the part of your question. Yes it would eventually wipe out the Ware Wolf population but you must remember, Cecilia, Lyican, Dylan and the witch and warlock are so power hungry and financially greedy they don't think of long term effects only their short term gain. They want to be the species and rule the world. They have promised several leaders and council members many things so will turn a blind eye to the massive disappearances. Rare gems, human paper money, dragon hoards and even marriage to their grandchildren.

  Eric, Lexie and Wren are the only children that I know of that have survived being injected with other shifted DNA but I never been to the other lab sites to know what their results are or if they're experimenting with something entirely different. As you know most doctors and scientists are witches and warlocks. These so-called doctors practice in the most dark magic known. Maleficium. They intend to cause harm, misfortune and death. The witch uses several disguise spells to trick the prisoners to do her bidding. Cecilia,Lyican and Dylan are naive to believe the doctors work for them. They are too vain to realize they are being used. The box that Cecilia had me bring contained counterfeit documents. I swapped out as many of the real reports as I could. Not enough to be noticeable but enough that provides evidence of their interactions and bribes.

  Killian asks how much time do we have to prepare for the war that is coming?

  I don't really know but I do know you all are several steps ahead just by training. I do suggest you gather as many hybrid packs as you can as your allies. It won't be easy but it will give us more of a winning opportunity but it has to be covertly especially if Cecilia and Lyican do show up here.

  Nick stands and says we need to get all the evidence before it's burned to the ground. We will need it to show other packs, hives and convens proof of the bribes their leaders and council members have accepted that kept them from investigating the disappearances.

  Maurice stands and asks how I and Cecilia were able to see him in ghost form but no one else could. I told him. It's because of the family blood bond that we were able to see him. He asks if he was to reject her as his grandmother would the bond break?

  Dianna asks him what he is planning?

  He looks at me and smiles and asks if she knows he left the monastery? I tell him no she doesn't. He said this is going to be easy. He pulls out his phone and tells us all to be very quiet. He puts the phone on speaker. Cecilia answers. Maurice starts talking. “ Grand-mère is grand-père and Uncle Dylan around you, if not will you please get them? I have something I need to discuss with the three of you. We hear 2 male voices saying they are here. Maurice continues. I want to officially join the monastery and in order for me to do so I must reject all of my family. I have told mom and dad my decision and have agreed but I need you and grand-père and Uncle Dylan to agree also. I also have to give up my worldly possessions and stay in Tibet. Cecilia tells him to wait a moment so they can discuss this matter. We hear the warlock say, that will be one more out of the way. The witch agrees with him. Cecilia, Lyican and Dylan come back on the phone. Cecilia says. Maurice dear we love you and we want you to be happy, so yes I Cecilia Blackwell Queen of the Ware Wolves accept your rejection. We are no longer bound to me by blood. You are no longer my grandchild, Lyican comes on the phone and says I Lyican Blackwell King of the Ware Wolves accept your rejection. We are no longer bound by blood. You are no longer my grandson. Dylan's voice came over the phone. Maurice Dracul I accept your rejection, We are no longer bound by blood. You are no longer my nephew. Maurice thanks them for their understanding and tells them good bye and ends the call. As soon as he made sure the call was completely cut off he started laughing. Those arrogant assholes actually bought it.

  Brenton do you have anything you would like to get from that place?

  I laugh and tell him yeah. There are a few things I would love to grab and it's just enough to keep them all occupied for a few hours. Maurice asks Nick, if he just cut through some red tape? Nick tells him he didn't just cut through, you broke through it then shredded it. Dianna: We need a plan to protect these babies. I don't trust Cecilia, Lyican or Dylan around any child.

  We know Geneva's scent has changed due to Killian giving her his blood and Jo has been giving Vlad blood so his scent has changed too and we all have been giving Killian our blood so he will smell like our son, but how are we going to hide Wayne and his family? How are we going to hide the fact that Vlad has two wolves from them? We need a plan. Jackson hugged her and told her that we all will figure this out tomorrow. Right now everyone needs to go to get some sleep. No one is going to sleep tonight though. We are all too anxious.
