What a horrible day! I am barely able to write today, same as yesterday. However, today something even worse has happened than not being able to stop in our venture. There was an avalanche. I had never seen one in person before today. That is not important in the slightest though. We had almost made it over the treacherous peak when the whole thing started. Lawrence and Angelo were beside me at the moment. We ran for our lives as the snow came stampeding down. It was a practical white out by the time we found the rest of them. The only ones that we could not find were Antonio and Ammon.
"They must be buried in the snow," I remember Yuri saying, "We have to find them."
They dug through everything and found Ammon first. He was badly beaten up by all of the snow and still doesn't look to good. I have spent most of the rest of the day treating him. It took us about another hour and setting up our camp to find Antonio. He was dead by the time we found him.

I cannot rant about another life gone today, but I must say that I had to sit and reflect on everything that has happened. Angelo checked on me after a while.
"No, don't check on me, Angelo. How are you doing? Your countryman has just died," I told him.
His eyes went blank, "I don't want to talk about that. Can we talk about something else?"
I didn't blame him and talked with him for quite a while. He needed it more than anything that I could have done to try to give him some words of wisdom. That wouldn't have helped me when Louis died, so why would I give those words to Angelo? Today has been dreary and we are doomed, but at least we are with each other for the time being.
