  If you've made it this far, I hope you've enjoyed it and I think I could stand to do a brief retrospective on posting this, plus telling tolks what to expect moving forward.

  TLDR: This story is going to keep being updated, though it will switch to updating once weekly while I'm posting the first book of its sister series. As it stands, there's another book and some already written of Fates Bound with the fairy tales party here so it's not going to run out anytime soon.

  If you're looking for a more action oriented story with a more focused, single protagonist, then I will be releasing that sister series in the coming weeks when my book cover is finished.

  There will be a brief break while I get stuff scheduled, get everything organized, and put the final polishing touches on things.

  Now, at more length.

  Fates Bound Update

  With this chapter we have hit a period of relative downtime for the characters that is going to be told through shorter vignette-style chapters alongside beefier individual ones. When things are particularly short or self contained I will be grouping multiples together to reach what I think is reasonable for any given post. Our party is going to experience the big city for the first time — catching up with the level of magical technology available to the world at large and getting a glimpse at things beyond their respectively very narrow spheres. Meant to be a bit of culture shock, but also some well deserved downtime and settling into the world at large while working to figure out what's going on before the drek hits the fan as it must.

  Lots of character exploration as these people are taken out of their natural environments, so if you like the story for the characters in particular, I think you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of the next act.

  If you wanna find out faster, I'm planning to post the entire downtime arc on my patreon in the coming days in its effective entirety to give people who want a good binge something to bite into.

  Next Story Update

  As said above, I will start posting the sister series to this one in the next couple weeks. It's going to be far more action oriented(Based around Nyssa Vigil, the woman who helped Ayre out with those thugs) as she devotes herself wholly to seeing the "one that got away" into the ground. Action heavy, emotion heavy, story following someone who lives feeling like a fish out of water after the supermajority of her people were lost to the calamities that we saw the party fight recently. Her personal story is akin to Olly's — an exploration of what it means to be a monster, whether by choice or by circumstances. Her tale will be one of figuring out exactly what caused our lasting wounds, and how we can maybe learn to address it in the fullness of time.

Most of their kind have retreated from the world in the wake of their loss, but not all.

  Nyssa Vigil is the sole heir to a legacy of divine essence passed down through long generations of her now-dead people. Believed to be the spirit and will of their patron god, The Demon King, this power affords the wielder nigh-limitless power at great cost. This power, never meant to be contained within a single person, shreds her body whenever she manages the mindset and willpower necessary to wield it.

  Isolated and without her people, she devotes her whole being to protecting others while never seeing the same kindness paid back. A constant cycle of giving to ensure nothing else is ever taken from anyone ever again. A cycle that will lead her to grim discoveries about the world and herself. Faced with an exception to long held rules — an intelligent calamity that can blend into society as a normal person. These monsters are able to bring down whole nations with brute force, so it begs the question how much damage one that is able to masquerade as a person could do. She won't abide such a thing to live — not as long as she carries the legacy of her people to wield against it.

  What remains is if she can find the monster before its plans can bring about the death of her new homeland and what she'll be willing to sacrifice to find her own power and strength.
