HISTORY

  The Sinclair's are a lesser-known branch of the extended family of the House of Aquitaine. They were never very important until Diego Sinclair, the eldest son, made the family famous through his strange inventions and experiments.

  Diego was a brilliant engineer, with deep knowledge of alchemy and runesmithing.

  He never studied at the royal academy; instead, he taught himself from libraries and his own imagination. Many of his inventions are still used in the empire, though he kept his name hidden. Despite his success, Diego always wanted more knowledge, more creation, more meaning.

  He later met Hilda, another genius. She was a powerful mage, possibly even more skilled than Diego in arcane craftsmanship and mana control.Like Diego, she was somewhat misunderstood, extremely curious, and lonely. What truly connected them was a shared desire not just for greatness, but for warmth and family.

  About 90 years before the story begins, the Aquitaine Duchy, the royal family, and the church accused Diego and Hilda of heresy and witchcraft, and exiled them from society.

  They crossed the Stellar Mountains and built an estate deep within the Devil Forest. There, they continued their research, explored their creative limits, and tried to answer big questions about the universe and its laws.

  Both wanted a family, they could not have biological children.(to be revealed in future chapters why they couldn't).

  To have a family and to make something otherworldly with time merged and this resulted in them choosing to create a family which could also become their greatest work.

  First, they tried to create life in the lab, but those experiments failed.

  So, they began gathering misfits, people and creatures who were abandoned, unwanted, or too dangerous for society. Some were human, some were not. If someone had potential, Diego and Hilda took them in.

  These children were then raised, trained, and experimented on. Some were genetically modified to have enhanced or monster-like traits, or sometimes to have human like traits.

  The goal was to create something perfect, a being that could go beyond and do what they desired. This process led to the birth of the 16 Sinclair children, 5 of whom died, as mentioned in Chapter 1.

  Even though their methods were harsh, both Diego and Hilda genuinely loved their children. Hilda especially made sure none of them felt abandoned. She raised each child with care, and because of this, most of them deeply respected her—even if they went through lots of pain and agony during experimentation.

  This is the primary Sinclair bloodline, led by Diego. The members you've seen so far are all from his direct family. However, there is another branch of the Sinclair family — Diego’s younger brother’s side, located within the Empire.

  When Diego was exiled, his younger brother was made head of the Sinclair family in the Empire. However, that branch is now considered extremely weak, both financially and in terms of influence. They're barely surviving and are on the brink of collapse.
