An Eye for an Eye

Half of my vision was dark.... Like an enteral night that has never seen the light of day. I sat their on my knees the corpse of my enemy melting into the deck of his ship. I looked down and I saw it a spheroid object thrust through its center was a claw.

My right eye was currently on the spike of the humanoid crow, but it was dead now the sea had melted—.

"Now now you didn't dink zat you killed me right deir, did you?" A cruel heavily accented voice stated looking down I saw that melting corpse revealed something I had understanding of. A talisman, the fucking creature I was killing was a clone. Quickly scrambling to my feet I saw my true enemy, it was not a short statured crow but a looming monstrosity with uneven proportions seemingly elongated. Built less like a human with a crows head and rather but a true and blue eldritch horror. Dark black eyes like wells of hatred, feathers like shards of obsidian, and had three long claws with a fourth protruding from the back of palm.

The Wasteful Scavenger's jewelry unlike his clone had a macabre artistry a intricate interweaving of bones and dried sinew. The Crow chittered its long beak seemingly in irritation.

"That clone was useful you know? I used it to attract divinations targeting me, that's why I the third strongest Entity ended up with the tenth lieutenant" the Crow spread its long arms in triumph as he descended the Sea Vulture's mast using his long legs to descend his claws digging into the wood of the mast.

Standing up I shifted my stance putting my left side first. Dam, I had gotten so used to flexing on my enemies or more accurately Kien had. However I wasn't afraid of death and I certainly wasn't afraid of this coward. Looking around I saw the corpses of the Sea Vulture's crew strewn about and the pale faces of my crew.

I had a something up my sleeve but I wasn't about to show it off in front of anything I didn't intend to kill.

"Burney pull back I finish this cowardly pigeon off and meet ya at the ship, got it?" I raised my voice and the crow cocked its head in confusion.

"Uh—, are sure you got this captain" Burney asked me as flicked from the terrifying silhouette of night made flesh and then my missing eye.

"Yeah you're just going to get caught in the cross fire!" I stated not taking my attention from my enemy.

"Sure Captain meet you at the ship..." The uneasiness of the first mate was clear but he and the crew pulled back nonetheless.

"Alright—i've got to ask what are you hiding? Hmm, either you're delusional or you've got something that you don't want the others to know, so show me what is it you're hiding?" The Scavenger asked his eyes flaring in malicious curiosity. Focusing a large chunk of paradox energy I impressed my paradox onto it and activated the transfer. The lump of energy disappeared and in its place Divinity.

I gave Noble paradox energy and I received Divinity. Typically higher dimensional beings suffered from being large fishes in an even larger sea. No matter how powerful they where compared to beings of lower dimensions in their home dimension they seemed weak. By trading energies even from dimensions on the 'same level' we where able to exhibit abilities outside the normal. I gave Noble paradox energy which he forged into weapons which then I could use divinity to summon.

"Divine Weapon: Cutlass of the Void Sea" a 26 long one sided blade with a six inch grip the blade slowly flared outwards and then tapered into a tip. Along the sides of the blade where engravings of a kraken. This blade was forged from my paradox energy and the bone of a weird half-cat half-monitor lizard proto-divine the size of of school bus.

"AAAHHAA, YOU ARE A TRIFECTAN OH THATS RICH YOUR CORPSE WILL MAKE A FINE THRONE" the Crow blasted into motion stepping to the side I sliced along the length of the crows side and yet only a few feathers fell. My opponent slid to a stop before turning towards me his animalistic features somehow displayed a smile of pure malicious excitement.

"BEHOLD THE PARADE MACABRE!" the Crow yelled as a blast of energy and feathers and I turned the flat of my blade over my heart and sent a blast of Void Fire that blazed from my blade. The feathers that came at my direction burnt to a crisp. The feathers that weren't aimed towards me stopped dead in the air and figures of pure obsidian. Dam, well I see where he got the inspiration for his clones abilities. Keeping my focus on the crow I waited and he stood at his full height towering over me. Taking a step to the side I kept my eyes locked on the crow as my my body moved around me. Stabbing one of the spirits burning another and dodging a third I moved closer and closer to the crow whose unseemly smile grew.

The crow stepped closer and plucked two feathers from either arm and they grew into swords each one wildly different in design. The crow kept into the fray, and moved in close keeping my sword in front of me I caught the first swing with the sweeping hand guard. Pushing his sword down with a flick of my sword the Scavenger's sword slid off the guard and hit the deck. Pushing the offensive I brought the sword down onto slicing through right eye. Shifting my feet I dodged the attack from his left sword and from another attack from one of the ghosts.

Kicking the back of his right knee collapsing it I brought his neck into my range however once again his feathers stopped me. Pushing off his left foot he twirled towards me his right eye just as fucked up as mine. With two blades and only one eye the right sword became more a liability then help. Simply weaving to the right deep into his blind spot I angled the tip and jabed the crows already damaged eye again.

Pulling back from each other my enemy discarded his right weapon and shifted to using both hands on the remaining long sword. My enemy lunged towards me his sword angled towards my center mass. Lowering down I angled my blade to redirect the force of the Scavengers lunge. Turning back to my enemy as turned back to face me I made sure to keep him firmly to my left.

He threw his sword at me and I simply stepped to the left I was perplexed at the move until he continued his barrage of weapons. Daggers, tridents, swords, clubs, axes, and other unrecognizable weapons came flying towards me. While randomly the crow would dart closer before moving back. Everytime I managed to hit him he would only lose a few feathers. I was really hoping I had a stronger staying power then my enemy.

  Meanwhile in the main battle

  Despotissa's P.O.V

  ...

At the end of my blade was the now dead pirate Admiral. He was the entity of the [Flaming Sea] which had proven annoying in naval battle. Fortunately he was only annoying and not much of an actual threat. Cleaning my blade I suppressed the whispers of my mother the [Cruel Heroine] she was growing louder these days which was a good sign but was getting to become a problem.

"Progress report?" I asked the assistant my father had lent me. The Serious Jester standing to my side responded shortly.

"Yes we are currently winning, however a current count isn't possible however we have lost two Lieutenants the 7th and the 9th, and I have noticed a few problems" The Serious Jester reported. Hmm, losing a few Lieutenants was unfortunate but they could be replaced. However we would be holding a grand funeral for those who passed after we one, it was the least we could do...

"What are the problems you noticed?" I asked as I scanned the warfare. Burning ships floating wreckage and the stink of burning flesh.

"Yes first and most importantly we had our mission leaked someone tipped off the pirates should we track down the mole?" The Jester asked me.

"No, it was most likely my father in order to give me a challenge, what are the other problems you noticed?" I asked him and he raised his eye in question before continuing.

"Well a storm is coming is set to be here in two hours, and our divinations expert has picked up a discrepancy amgost one of the enemy captains." A storm was an issue so the tempo of the battle would have to increase. The second tidbit though was problematic. The lieutenants and the pirate captains where supposed to be matched to challenge the lieutenants but not insurmountable.

"What did the Divinations expert find?" I asked.

"Turns out the pirate captain known as the Wasteful Scavenger used a Divination Dummy to hide his true strength and was assigned the tenth lieutenant, the expert who detected rated him as the third strongest of the private fleet" the Jesters report was worrying a powerful entity going against someone so much weaker then him would me he would be relatively fresh and would cause a problem if he attacked my tired and wounded fleet. I would have to break form the fight and deal with him—.

"Wait how isn't the tenth lieutenant not dead? If this Scavenger character is as powerful as Infine then how isn't he dead yet?" I asked the tenth lieutenant had potential but was far to green to be holding his own against such a foe.

"Two reasons from what I could get from the expert, one the Scavenger is better at killing a large number of significantly weaker enemies and struggles against elite fighters and two the Tenth lieutenant has a Divine Weapon" the Jester explained. I know that the Tenth lieutenant was an uplifted mortal but somehow he also had connections to a Divine deity. Either he would make a great subordinate or a major issue.
