Destillled Vengeance

A another eldritch spirit I wonder if this one was also an all powerful entity cosplaying as a deranged sailor. I told the puppets to retreat as they would most likely be massacred.

As my army pulled back my enemy pulled forward, in his grip a familiar shield. Jagged at three of its four sides and made of strong steel and welded as a shield. It wielded was taller then the Ogre High Chief, at roughly forty feet tall he towered over the ruins of the Ogre capital. Dragging behind him was a once a great tree its roots tore off but it branches still shining. A distortion vibrated around the Ogre, the houses and city around him shimmered and like a glimpse in time it showed the once bustling city from the corpse of its present self.

I was going to keep my current position as to utilize the hill face to better battle the ogre. The Eldritch Spirit in front of me was the last breath of a defunct civilization coming to take its toll. Looking over I noticed the boulders that we had thrown into the city still there and decided to take a few pot shots at the beast. Grasping the largest of the Boulders with my magic I threw it at the beast and it sailed way over the skeleton of the city to hit the creature in the shoulder.

The sheer mass of the boulder caused it to shift back but from where I was it didn't seem to affect it all to much. So I threw the rest at it, and the creature continued to walk towards me over the ruins and at it domed in the head it seemed a bit dazed but continued forwards. At least the thing wasn't smart, which was probably the main reason the Ogres were so weak. They lacked the ability to think ahead and while some humans lacked the ability to do so many more of us could. The Ogres though, they lacked a lot of abstract or long term planning skills.

It took the Eldritch Ogre five minutes to reach me its eyes large but small on its face, where filled with admittedly valid hatred.

"FJAAAALMINNNAAAARR" It spoke its voice booming and deep, its breath stank bad.

"WEIRDDDD OOOGRREEE" I shouted back as it rose its large club like a rampaging toddler. As gravity assisted and bringing the tree down upon me.

Already prepared I activated my [Force Field] ability and the club was halted and then stopped. Preparing my counter I summoned spears of earth to pierce it massive ankles, I hoped to cripple the creatures already compromised agility. Unfortunately the rock was hard enough to break through the thick skin of the Ogre.

"BBBBBRRRRRASKUNYH" The ogre yelled not in pain but pure anger as it's efforts to attack me were stopped.

  [Mini Boss Alert]

[Eldritch Spirit of Vengeance] had solidified it's portfolio names changed.

[Eldritch Spirit of Vengeance] had he renamed to the [Songs of Vengeance]. You are witnessing the Birth of a new Eldritch Entity. As a Divine Deity you have the ability to absorb the Higher Realm energy of Paradox.

  ...

Ehh, whatever new name same ugly mug, that was my initial thought at least. That was until the piggish choir from the heavens kicked in for some absolutely terrifying boss music.

The massive ogres muscles swelled and rippled with greater as he lifted his club-tree again to slam it back down on my shield. Deciding to get the hell out of dodge I fell into the earth as I descended I reabsorbed the mana from the [Force Field] and felt localized earthquake rattle the ground as the Ogre struck the hill I was in.

Torpedoing out of the hill line a meteor I crashed into the belly of the Ogre. As I passed through the distortion around the beast I felt a twist of nausea and a slight headache. I crashed shield first into the Ogre and It didn't notice my 'attack' that didn't last for long as I stabbed my long Sword to the hilt while my dagger was pumping cursed energy into the Eldritch Spirit.

As It stepped back and looked down it screamed in rage as If began to slam Into its own body right where I was. Releasing my hold on the Ogre I dropped to the earth at the last second as the Ogre lost its breath as it sucker punched itself.

Now at its feet I decided to be an akle biter, and as It recovered it's self the chorus intensified and the distortion shimmered as I hacked at its ankle. Pouring out from a distortion like a wound in reality creatures vaugely resembling Ogres but with indescribable oddities. As in my brain literally couldn't piece together what it was seeing.

Let's hope these guys are easy to kill, creating spears of earth they sliced through the beings easily as they unraveled.

Well that was over dramatic, moving on I continued to nip at the behemoths heals until eventually he figured out a way to flush me out, by sitting down.

Moving out of the way and destroying the taints as the system called them that where in my way.

Moving through I reoriented myself and looked at beast ahead of me, what was essentially a newborn dream team pick for a fantasy Basketball team. With the strength to pull a giant gorilla attacking New York.

Moving in to attack again I leaped into the air as I sailed through the air the Ogre blocked me with its distortion field which jarred me as I lost my momentum as the air in front of me became solid.

"YOOOOUUUUU WILL PAY!!!" The Ogre screamed like that one annoying kid when his mom passed the candy isle.

"DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT?" I shouted back but the giant what I just realized was growing eldritch being did not respond. So I rushed forward and as the creature swung down its club it's branches stripped away by its rampaging.

Holding my shield High I blocked the strike head on. It felt like I was holding up a mountain as the Ogre tried to squash me like a bug. The Chorus changed into war song, the steady beat of war drums echoing and the sounds of agony that I knew was the last sounds of those I had killed.

Using half of my remaining mana I created a construct of earth, a long serpent of stone that bit at the neck of the Ogre, its teeth not being able to pierce the skin of the Ogre but it could cut off air flow. I didn't know exactly how much of the essentials we needed, I was a 'deity' yet I still needed to eat, drink, and sleep. The point was that this Ogre still needed to breath. The ogre panicked and dropped its club in order to wrestle with the earthen serpent that crushing its wind pipe. Taking the chance I began to bury the club while it's owner was busy wrestling rock. With that over with I activated the boosting bit of [Fungal Exoskeleton] and began to charge at the last Ogre as it finally tore the serpent apart just in time to get kicked in the face. Flying through the air I slashed at the cheek of the creature as it struggled to regain its bearings.

"I AMMM THEEE SONG OF VENGEANCE!" The Ogre yelled as it's speech became clearer and its eyes filled with more cunning then pure brutality. It pulled itself to its feet and pulled back while at the same time directing the Taints towards me.

  "[HYMM OF RETRIBUTION]!"

The background music changed, it gained this strange mix of techno but with a bunch of old dudes chanting.

Pushing forward I sliced through the beings bearing down on me through the gaps in horse I saw a new weapon being summoned through the distortion field. It was gruesome sight, carved from wood it depicted thousands of Ogres in varing scenes of death. Pushing off from the ground I skipped over the horde of eldritch ogre wannabes.

"FJALMINAR MY RIVAL! I SHALL ENACT MY PEOPLE'S CALL FOR BLOOD SLAYING YOU, FATHER OF ASH!" the impassioned speech declaring he would kill me was an oldie but a goodie. Ugh, I really needed some mental help, and if I was Hallucinating In a psych ward Right now then at least I could make an interesting story if I ever got out.

Taking its new club it swung it about, using my still superior agility I simply weaved about it and closed in towards my enemy.

"HAHA, YOU DARE CALL ME YOUR RIVAL, DON'T DISGRACE ME WITH SUCH A TITLE, YOU ARE NOTHING BUT THE LAST BREATH OF A BUNCH OF PIGGIES!!" I rage baited the massive warrior as he took it hook line and sinker.

Charging me every footstep felt like the earth had a heart. The twisted club once again tried to slam into me and just the same I evaded. Pushing forward as the Ogre tried to back step and maintain distance. Behind him though I made the terrain more hilly and uneven in the valley between the hills and the city.

He had me beat In strength and mass but I had beat pretty much everywhere else. Getting in close I brought my sword along the edge of his knee slicing through the tendons causing the Ogre to buckle. Kneeling as his leg failed him he brought the enlarged shield down a upon me. Summoning large pillars ties with conceptual energy of strength and resilience they held.

I was winning but this was becoming a drawn out fight. What a pain in my...
