Clocking in, Clocking out

The siege of shrine ended and the bodies loaded up, entering the shrine room once more I saw splatters of blood and especially before the statue.

I looked up at the figure of the statue, a small plague had symbols that looked like the distant cousin of some sort of Asian script, not that I was an expert. Using the system to get a description of the statue.

  [Statue to the Liberator]

  Quasi-Divine Relic

This statue was forged from the chains that once held [Kaihao] a semi-mythical figure to the tutorial civilization of the [Deep Yeti]. Borne into slavery he broke free from the tyranny of [Low Caste Cave Giants], he then went on to bring the Giants to their knees before scumming to health issues.

  [Additional information]:

Due to your Divine nature you are granted additional details. This statue also served as the casket to [Kaihao]. This item also bears a small divine presence linked to the Divine Plain of [Freedom]. You can either cannibalize the statue or nurture it vassalizing it.

  ...

Well that was surely interesting, so this guy was freedom fighter and rebel. The whole spiel about absorbing or nurturing it was interesting. Honestly if I absorbed it I would probably get maybe one Divinity tops, and [Freedom] honestly felt like it was a pretty common domain so I can't imagine it being all to valuable. I would take it back with me before making the decision. So with a [Geomancy] I loosened it before I lifted it from its base. Moving on I rigged up a sled for it to be dragged on.

Moving out we went for stealth considering I was pulling a British maneuver by stealing their relic. Oh, boy I was becoming more steadily fucked up, I needed to talk to more people then a spider and the odd meeting with Daemons or maybe a slice of apple pie, or a hotdog.

Once we made it to the ruins, I set the Statue in an alcove near my smithy. Next I made it up to the laboratory of the mad scientist Anastasia, nocking three times before pulling back.

'Come In' Anastasia responded telepathically, and moving forward I opened the door I saw Anastasia perched above a model of totem each price was pulled out and suspended in air as Anastasia tinkered with it.

'Kien I did it! I manged to create a totem that could process and respond to stimuli! It's crude and rather prone to malfunctioning but It worked!' Anastasia said while she shrunk herself and entered into the bowls of the three d silk diagram.

'Thats wonderful Anastasia, what can they do now?' I asked her I scanned over some of the totems their was clearly a resemblance it kinda looked like a sphere with mimicked runes and lines of Mana. One of them was open and I saw into its insides, it was chalk full of details.

'Oh, I got them patrolling, and there's this one that was already made, I think it was the one in charge of making your human food, anyways it took really well to it... Oh wait you brought specimens!' she switched on a dime.

'Ah—, yes the outpost was a religious place to the Yeti and before you start desecrating the dead I have something that might be of interest to you' I said as I had to block the spider from rushing out of the room.

'Ah, whatever Boss sure I'll come with you to see whatever you brought back.' Anastasia said reluctantly as she followed me and we stood in front of the statue of Kaihao.

'Wow, Kien it looks just like you' Anastasia said sarcastically as she ribbed me.

'Har Har, Anastasia tell me what you see when inspect the statue' I said pointing to the statue.

'Huh! Boss do I get to crack it open!' Anastasia said as he tried to puppy dog eye me.

'what no, I was thinking of nurturing it, considering the gain from consuming it right now would be pitiful' I said, and honestly I was figuring that the creature could get quite a few followers on earth especially if our monkey and ape cousins took the leap with the help of the system having something look vaugely like would help our tons. Maybe it could also prevent the apes from going completely rogue.

'Oh so this is like another pet project of yours?' Anastasia said mildly uninterested.

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

'ah basically but before we split off anything interesting happen while I was away?' I asked her.

'Oh, I almost forgot, but I got a quest to progress in my path to giving my silk children their intelligence!' Anastasia said excitedly as she shared the screen with me.

It was wow a lot, this was clearly not to be an easy task though by the wording it had been done several times though the rewards were still immense especially for Anastasia.

'Congrats Anastasia let me know if you need any help, I will meeting my quota for equipment before I start on figuring out how to help the dormate Spirit here.' I said giving one of Anastasia's legs before moving onto my forge across from the statues alcove.

  Hanran, Stronghold of the Yeti

  ...

"Lord-Protector and Elder-Empress, I beseech you with knowledge most dire" a scout spoke bowing low. The Lord-Protector was large and heavily armoured male Yeti standing across from an old Female Yeti.

Their society had a very distinct separation between the male and females of the group. It had brought many headaches to both of the leaders it was this separation that weakened them to the point that they were unable to claim dominion over the caves of Nyx. The Males had strict rules of only competency and proven achievements got one position. The problem was the nepotism running rampant in the female sides of things as they acted as the bureaucrats and everyday craftswomen of their people. Social status was inherited not earned only major events could change that. Combined with the fact that their people weren't free to chose what they did, men were warriors and the women everything else which meant that the men would could have been great craftsman rather died in skirmishes against the stupid pigs or this new menace the Slivered-One he was called some kind of Pigmy Giant.

How many times had the Lord-Protector watched men who wanted nothing more then to metalwork with their sisters be cut down? How many women had the Empress had to tell that they could never be warriors? The womens were arguably better cause at least they lived but yet every time the Empress saw them they had this hollow look, one without meaning.

"Ahem" the Lord-Protector coughed catching the Empresses attention smiling at her second nephew, he had risen to his position through drive and hard work. The Empress had been born into it, and the doubt that she would never have risen to her position otherwise was a constant plague on her thoughts. Pushing off the musings she focused on the scout.

"Speak, Honoured War-Brother" The Empress spoke her tone authoritarian yet respectful.

"Empress of course, the shrine of the Liberator Kaihao has been sacked by the Slivered one! He was slaughtered the priesthood and taken the casket." He spoke in the calm steady voice to make sure is message was clear, and yet hysteria warbled at the edge of his voice. He was close to freaking out about the situation that had happened.

"What?" the voice of shock was barely murmured by the Lord-Protector. It was the appropriate response to the news. Her Ancestors casket and center place of the Yeti's burgeoning religion was stolen. It was a tragedy, hopefully they simply took and left it alone the idea of it being destroyed brought panic to the old Yetiess's Heart. However this also presented an opportunity, an opportunity for the Lord-Protector to take 'Emergency' powers. In reality the Empress would be in control but it would allow them together to rip apart the cultural institutions that kept them back. They would strike down this Slivered-One, reclaim her ancestors casket, and spread their dominion over the caverns!

  Back to Kien

  ...

Complete with my quota, I moved the statue to the smithy where I looked at the Yeti and began to spread my Divine senses into it. I felt almost completely the Divinity of [Freedom] though their where flecks, slivers of others most where to thin to make out but two were recognizable. [Protection] & [The Depths] the latter was more prevalent but the former was of more interest to me. Realistically giving the Divine spirit in the statue would be a requirement to elevate it to true Daemonhood.

The Depth would help connect me to it better as I would probably be more powerful then it and have complete seniority.

  ...

  [Racial Quest Offered]

Do you want to nurture the divine spirit of Kaihao residing in the [Statue to the Liberator]? Doing so will make the Daemon your second in command.

  Requirements:

The Statue has 100 Divinity from the plain of [Freedom]: (12/100)

The Spirit takes on a second domain, must be connected to you, and must not be taken by another Daemon: 1 available (The Depths)

The Statue has 200 Divinity of a second type meeting the previously stated Requirements: (00.1/200)

Rewards: Vassal Daemon, Pantheon Quest line Open, and Title

  Accept:[Y/N]

  ...

Nothing new really just the requirements, it did however appear drastically easier then reality I couldn't imbue the statue and hence the spirit with my own divinity it would overwhelm the spirit as my divinity would put number its own.

So I would somehow find away to empower the statue. Okay well first off this statue needed some repairs, so rather then myself fixing it I supervised puppets doing it. Meanwhile I returned to forging this time though I used the dagger in the Yeti's grip as Inspiration. Utilitarian in its design, it was simple to craft and the finished product didn't have anything interesting except for the fact that it had a connection to the statue and had a unique name.

  [Ritual Dagger of Kaihao]

  Rank Two spiritual conduit

  ...

Hmm, throwing it to one of the puppets I moved this time creating replicas of the Yeti's armor but well better, better materials, better design, and better craftsmanship. This was for the new Yeti Puppets, the idea for the composition of the silk army was that the Yeti would be skirmishers utilizing Superior agility to our maneuver the enemies. The Ogres would act as a juggernauts absorbing damage and drawing fire. The Elite puppets would form the bulk of the army with the puppets like the Commander acting as platoon leaders, finally the Giant puppets depending on their power would be elites. The regular puppets, especially if Anastasia made them sapient would be filling in the logistics and scouting regiments supporting the main army.
