Ch 9. 1v1 me Bro

After transferring his gameplay over Lance opened up the video and began running through the highlights reel. Luckily the Specter 3 system already generated the reel. Lance wanted to get one specific clip, the best and most thrilling battle he had. Three goblins, saving the damsel in distress, the moment he surprised himself was sure to surprise others. The issue he ran into was that his main account on Bluezit and Viewcube were linked to him in various ways. He also wanted to hide his and Reilly's face. Doing this and removing the audio from his voice sections didn't seem too difficult. All in all the dispatch of the goblins was only a 2 minute clip. The beautiful part of it was Lance never realized how badass it was. He himself watched it over a few times reliving the thrill.

" Oh man this is like clip hunter gold, it would definitely go viral on MinMin. Viewcube first, Link it to the Blackhead on Wish Legacy all on a new account and I'm in there like swimwear. Alright let's get started. wait ... What should my name be."

A long pause Lance typed in his username.

  "TheDungeonChef"

After making his video Lance realized the time, it was quickly approaching 5 and he had to take his sister to the mall. After clicking upload a few minutes passed and he dropped a link on the blackhead. "Fingers crossed okay let's go."

Lance ran downstairs " Roo.. gue. Whoa." Lance came downstairs to his mother doing his sisters make up. It wasn't a lot and for the first time in a long time she ditched the dark clothing and jeans and wore a nice light rose patterned dress with a small coat and nice slip shoes. She looked much older, and Lance for the first time in a while realized his sister was all grown up, almost. He could remember it like yesterday, his sister annoying the kids he was playing with. " Well you ready to go? Also mom I can use the car right? "

His mother finished with just a light touch of lip gloss and then looked at him. " She should be good. She's nervous though so get her a drink on the way so she can fiddle with something."

Rogue stood up and seemingly embarrassed, blushing, walked to Lance and handed him their mom's keys. " Do .. Do you think he will like me?"

Lance gently said, " You look very pretty so if he doesn't he's a loser. Now get in the car I'm starving and I wanna hit the food court. Bye Mom."

  .....

After a while they pulled up to a restaurant and were waiting for Jake to come out.

" So this is where he works? Billie's? What's his position?"

" Oh yeah he's a busboy for now, and is learning to become a waiter."

Lance's eyes lit up " Oh yeah what's that job anyways? Busboy? Like a table cleaner?"

" Oh he serves the food sometimes with the waiter. Then cleans up at the end. He like grabs it from the back and brings it to the right table, gets their drinks, basically gives people their food but doesn't have any real say in taking or making the order. Still gets tips though. Oh look there he is! " She leaned over and tapped the horn a couple times.

Lance gritted his teeth. " Son of a *honk honk* "

  "What was that?"

"Oh nothing." Lance looked over at the young man running up to the car. He was wearing a uniform but had a backpack on, he quickly got in the back seat.

He immediately, once seated, took off his shirt and threw on one he pulled from his backpack. Lance looked behind him, upset. Jake was a freak of nature. Lance couldn't help but see that he was devastatingly handsome, not to mention the guy was like a greek sculpture under his shirt. His sister blushed and looked at Lance the moment he took his shirt off and smiled. Then if only to make things worse the man spoke in a soft but deep voice while extending his hand. " Hey, names Jake, Your Rogue's brother right?"

Lance cursed at his bloodline internally and then shook his hand. " Lance, nice to meet you. So how old are you?" Looking over at his sister who was sixteen.

" Oh I'm seventeen I'll be eighteen next summer after I graduate."

Lance gripped the steering wheel tightly.

"Oh cool yeah okay well let's go then." Lance gave his sister a side eye look as they left the parking lot. "She just needed a ride. This guy could've bought their movie tickets! I feel so used and my ego will never recover! " he thought.

After entering the mall Jake and Rogue began to hold hands and walk closely. Lance bit his cheek but endured, he slowed his pace and let them walk in front of him, seeming aloof and inquisitive of his surroundings. His real goal was to make sure there was no funny business on the back side. After an escalator and a few halls had been passed his sister and Jake chit chatting and giggling the whole way, they arrived. The food court.

The intense clash of smells, sweets and spice, tangy imitation foreign food, greasy food galore, pizza, burritos and much more. They had a hard choice. Actually Jake and Rogue immediately went and ordered some boba tea. Lance couldn't decide immediately. His recent culinary experiences, although fake, felt so real and the flavors were left as strong memories. He decided to think about what the closest thing to what he could make would be. He decided to move towards a semi authentic Taco stand. The thought of goblin meat ran through his mind as he watched a large rotisserie spin against a flame, slowly the image turned into the goblin's who's face got seared off screaming as it spun. Lance quickly shook his head and wiped his drool.

Lance ordered a taco plate but ended up asking for the spiciest sauce they had and to char the tortilla a bit. Coming back to sit down Jake and Rogue were already seated eating bite size corn dogs. He sat down and after slathering it in hot sauce, dug into his food. He ate fast and barbarically. Testing how much he could eat, trying his best to disregard his mouth set aflame. He finished his first taco and with tears in his eyes and the hiccups he laughed out loud " How.. haha *hic* How about that *hic* Riley!" Jake and Rogue looked at him in confusion and disgust. The next moment Lance's leg felt a sharp pain run up from his shin where his sister just kicked, snapping him back to reality. "*Ahem* Sorry it uh.. this sauce is supposed to be impossible to eat.. my friend told me." ( ?╥??? ?╥)

After they finished their food they quickly went to go for their movie.

They entered the movie theater with plenty of time to spare. Rogue quickly ran over to an area with a bunch of arcade games. " Lance look! They have Reckon 12! Come on, let's fight. I got dibs on Kabuta."

Lance cracked his knuckles. Back in the day he was known in his friends circle as the Reckon King. Not only did he play the character Prince but he was extremely good at it. " Well I guess you asked for it."

Jake interjected " Oh your good at Reckon? I got winner. " Jake stood to the side.

A few moments later Lance lost to his sister, it must have been some time since he played last, the inputs he did weren't working. Lance tried to play it off. " Good work sissy. I'll get you next time." He gave her a wink.

" No you won't. I just whooped your ass hahaha."

Lance's eyebrows twitched. He went and ordered some popcorn and a soda while he waited for them to play some other games. Soon after they all went and found their seats and watched the movie. Eventually they dropped off Jake and went home. Unfortunately Jake was rather respectful and he even gave Lance his number and offered to get him a discount if he ever went to Billie's. Lance wanted so badly to dislike the guy, he couldn't help but feel wronged spiritually.

" Good looking and a nice guy, what a cruel universe!" he thought. After they got home his sister went to bed. His mom was on the couch, she fell asleep watching TV. On the table he saw a note addressing Lance and Rogue from their mom about their dad. Apparently he had an emergency at his job and they needed him to take care of a bunch of stuff so he had to stay this weekend. Lance felt bad for his mom wishing she wouldn't have to be lonely all the time.

Lance ran upstairs at almost ten o'clock. He hopped on his computer and checked his video's status. What he saw made his jaw drop. His video was the top rated clip on the blackhead and at the top of the page. He had over a thousand comments. Checking the views on Viewtube his jaw dropped further the video performed so well it had over two million views. In 4 ish hours TheDungeonChef was big news all over the WishLegacy page. Lance read some comments, the entire time his eyes wide and heart was beating rapidly.

" Yooo this dude is crazy my group died to goblin's how the heck did he live! Did he live though where's the ending!"

" I am a martial arts instructor and he is certainly trained in the military or something, the kick he used is a Tae Kwon Do move and he clearly has used melee weapons extensively. Hoo-rah brother. "

" Oh my gawd, that was so hot. When he ripped off that goblin's face my heart just melted. Dm me DungeonMan <3"

" Nah honestly that wasn't even so hard. I took out 4 by myself. He's also obviously such a fake nice cgi bro."

  " Dude. Teach. Me"

  " 1 v 1 me bro! "

The stream of comments went on and on. Not all of them were good but Lance put his head in his hands and tugged his hair. " How is this even possible." Lance clicked to see how much the video earned him on Viewtube. He wheezed so hard he farted. Then fell out of his chair. 1240 from ad's alone. He laid on the ground and stared at the ceiling. " Is this real? What should I do... Make more? I just wanted to share a good moment. I'm... it's overwhelming. Oh my god... Wait. Reilly."

  ...

Across the world Reilly was sitting at her computer desk watching the video. Her eyes wide with shock. She had been there but she couldn't see the whole thing after the first few seconds, how he killed them was a mystery.

She paused the video midway. The screen was stuck on the image of her standing behind Lance, his pan held out in front of him just a second after cutting her binds with the knife. She stared at her face, the black bar covering her eyes still left enough to determine the sheer terror, tears, and dried spots dirty from crying previous. She slammed her hand on the desk recalling it all and began crying. She couldn't help but feel that uselessness come back and overwhelm her emotions. She hated that she was weak. She watched the rest of the video, yelling at herself. Seeing herself standing in the background trembling, sniffle crying with a dagger in hand. She yelled at herself "Do something, anything, Do Something, He's Dying! Help him!" She finished the video and hung her head. She shook her fists in determination. Then she clicked like. And closed the page. She then pulled her legs up into her chair and held them. Her face became empty. She had no tears left to give for herself. She just whispered " Thanks for hiding my face."
