  Gabriel looked through his list again to be sure, Book titles were written on them ‘The void and how it is affected by aether flow by professor Hesy Re’ and ‘basic principles of aether by professor Onyema’. There were only two books on the list but amongst the multitude that was all of Chen Sun temple library, just looking for the two books was proving a herculean task all on its own. Librarians worked at the library but there was more books on aether theory than there were books on any other topic in the library. A whole section of the library was dedicated to aether theory while at most two shelves was dedicated to any other subject matter.

  Gabriel after a long search, found the books that he had been asked to look for. Walking out of the library with the two books in hand Gabriel made his way to elder monk Chen's office. Entering the office, Gabriel didn’t see the elder monk and so he sighed. The top wall clock ticked in the silence of the office drawing his attention to it, the time read 8:30 am. Gabriel sighed again, finding the library had been bad enough now he had to find a single monk in a temple with a bunch of monks he didn’t know, Gabriel sighed once again. He missed his phone right now, ‘where had he even lost it?’. He couldn’t even recall so he sighed again.

  Gabriel stood at the door to the room labeled classroom one, he scanned the room as he waited. Monk Chen was standing at the podium, in front of him four children ranging between ten and twelve years comprised the entire of the class room and monk Chen was rounding up his morning speech on why they need to study hard as he did every morning. Which had made finding him easier than Gabriel had initially expected.

  Two of the kids stood at the back of the class, if he had to guess, on punishment.

  “Hao, Kai, you boys go back to your sits. A disciple will come soon, to teach you, till then behave.” monk Chen said as he walked out of the classroom “Gabriel you took a while but don’t worry, follow me”

  Gabriel followed behind monk Chen as he went, they passed many monks along the way and each monk greeted monk Chen passed and each time monk Chen acknowledged either verbally or with a wave. Elder monk Chen walked into a classroom, this one was labeled classroom three. Inside three monks closer to his age stood up to greet when he walked in.

  “Good morning, elder” they chorused.

  “Good morning class, take your sits” monk Chen replied as he reached the podium “you too Gabriel” he tapped the boy and gestured “take a sit”

  Monk Chen walked to black board behind the podium, picked up a chalk on the side and drew a circle and a triangle and a square side by side

  “This week, you will be taught ‘the correlation between Aether, the language of the spirit and Mathematics, specifically geometry. The language of the universe.” Elder monk Chen turned from writing the words on the white board behind him “Exciting, right?”
