B5 | Chapter 18

  Alexia

Ignoring the idiots, I continue clearing one galaxy after another. Very slowly leveling up in the process. Not to mention summoning the Cleaner every time I finish clearing a galaxy.

And while he at first looks kind of happy with my clearing these galaxies out early, he gradually gets more and more annoyed with each galaxy I clear out.

Clearly bothered by the repeated summonings by the universe.

But he still holds his tongue for the most part.

At least, for most of the summonings.

After I clear out over two dozen galaxies of corrupted creatures though, slaughtering them all thanks to the immense mind-breaking power given to me by my True Form literally letting me wipe out multiple solar systems of these lower Tier corrupted creatures with just a few blows, he finally begins to lose his patience.

Which is obvious when he appears after I clear out the twenty-fifth galaxy and he just bursts through a portal with a glare on his face. Only to immediately throw a knife made of quantum energy at me.

A knife that I block with ease what with it clearly not being an honest attempt to kill me. Since it doesn’t have much energy put into it.

And the energy it does have barely affects me at all thanks to my resistance to his particular quantum energy.

“Stop sending me here in the middle of my fucking games!!!” the Quantum Cleaner shouts, his voice echoing across the galaxy. “I’ve died at least fifteen times and have even been bumped down a ranking Tier!”

  I blink at that.

  What’s he talking about?

“His game,” Zal says, sounding rather exasperated as he does so. “He plays in the leagues of those games of his. The ones where players play professionally as practice for their tournaments. And in those leagues, people apparently go up and down in what are called ‘ranking Tiers’ where they fight against people of the same ranking Tier. People who should be the same skill level as them. And every win and loss will move players up and down in ranking Tier.”

  Oh.

So he’s just upset he died in his games and was bumped down a Tier? Am I getting this right?

  “You are,” Zal answers.

That’s kind of sad, but whatever.

“How’s that my problem?” I ask while tilting my head. Making the Quantum Cleaner’s eye twitch in a show of anger. “I’m just leveling up here.”

“You damn brat…” the Quantum Cleaner mutters before swiping his arm horizontally in front of him and sending several more knives flying my way. “You better stop messing up my games if you know what’s good for you.”

I ignore the knives since they don’t even break through a faint shield I have around me thanks to my resistance in my True Form to his particular quantum energy.

“We both know you can’t seriously try to harm me,” I tell him with a yawn. “Not unless you want the universe to punish you.” I raise a brow. “And you would never let that happen. Not when it would dig into your gaming time.”

He grits his teeth and clenches his fists at his sides. Clearly proving everything I just said.

“And my resistance to your energy makes it impossible for you to hurt me without seriously trying,” I continue before waving my hand. “So do your job and leave.”

With those words left behind, I go ahead and move on to the next galaxy. Where I begin clearing out more corrupted creatures without a care.

I clear one galaxy after another. Over and over again.

Repeatedly summoning the Quantum Cleaner in the process, making him more and more angry with every summoning.

But I don’t care about him.

Although eventually I find another Quantum Being in my hunt. Except this one isn’t summoned. I just find him already there fighting.

Which makes me pause while I float here watching on.

As the Quantum Vanguard fights against a Corruptor with an army of glitchy purple beings fighting against the Corruptor’s corrupted creatures. Showing off the power of the first directly combat focused Quantum Being I’ve seen in action.

  Interesting…

The man has that same look as the other Quantum Beings, reminding me of the fact that all the original Quantum Beings are technically slightly altered clones of the Quantum Ruler. And he’s using a blade to slice apart the Corruptor without much difficulty. All while his forces are destroying the corrupted creatures.

I continue watching from the sidelines in silence. Using this to get a bit of a head start on trying his trial in the future.

After all, it’ll be nice to have some advanced intelligence on the guy before said trial.

Especially since he’s a combat focused Quantum Being.

And the man himself doesn’t seem to notice me as he fights. That or he just doesn’t care about my presence.

Then again, it could also be related to what Zal said before. Something about banning him from approaching me.

I purse my lips at that thought, only to shrug as I decide that I don’t care.

The Quantum Vanguard continues to slaughter the corrupted creatures and eventually kills off the Corruptor entirely. Clearing this galaxy of corrupted creatures in the process and summoning the Cleaner just like I’ve been doing.

To my amusement, the Quantum Cleaner arrives while shouting, “Will you fucking brat stop this rampage of-”

He blinks when he notices that it was the Quantum Vanguard who cleared the galaxy and not me.

Meanwhile the Quantum Vanguard glares at the guy who just called him a ‘fucking brat’.

  This is amusing.

I can’t help but chuckle at the sight as I begin to leave the galaxy and head to the next one.

All while the Quantum Vanguard and Quantum Cleaner begin to shout at each other. Mostly because the Quantum Vanguard starts lightly attacking the Cleaner and swearing at him with abandon in response to the Cleaner’s calling him a ‘fucking brat’.

  This is very amusing.

Once I leave the galaxy though, I focus entirely on continuing my hunt to level up.

Because I need to reach the peak of Tier 5.

Then I can go back to the Tier 5 dungeon.

And face off against that Ascendant Tier monster.
