Isaac got up from the ground, looking out the hole he made as Ghostgal stood by the desk, holding Gloria by the neck and her hand glowing bright as she stare daggers at Isaac. Mike looked out with him. 'Or we can forget the plan and just wing it' he grunted. 'Isaac you idiot'

  Isaac jumped out from the office, facing Ghostgal as patients and their families were running. The nurses ordered to evacuate everyone out of the floor. 'Put her down Ghostgal, no one wants to get hurt here, especially me'

  'Stay away from me' she said in a cold voice, holding up her glowing hand to Gloria's face. 'What happened to Solkivich, he would never let you walk around with the cops unless he was taken out'

  'Have you tried the puddles?' said Isaac.

  The hand glow brighter, Isaac held up his hands 'Ok, ok! Just put her down and I'll come quietly'

  Ghostgal hesitated, which is just what Isaac wanted. Once she lowered her glowing hand Isaac sent out a small Heat Wave at her, pushing her back and letting go of Gloria, which then Isaac went and pulled back to safety. Ghostgal cried in frustration, she summon Light Arrows in her hands and threw them at Isaac. He tried to blow them away with his Heat Wave but being pure light they went right through, one missing his shoulder but the other grazing his side. Isaac grunted as Ghostgal sent out more arrows. Isaac grabbed Gloria and they moved out of the way, Isaac holding her over his shoulder as he ran up and jump off the walls, the arrows going through them, as Isaac got behind the desk, leaving Gloria there.

  'You ok?' he asked.

  'I'm fine go get her' she said, 'Isn't that your new job or something?'

  'Glad to see you're well' mumble Isaac as he poked his head from over the desk. Ghostgal glared at him, but she turn and ran. Isaac got out from behind the desk and gave chase.

  He chased her through the hallway, patients were coming out to see what the noise was, but Ghostgal went up to each of them and used her glowing hands to increase her strength, throwing each of them back towards Isaac who caught each one, jumping off the walls to safely place them back on the ground then continue chasing her towards the window at the end of the hall.

  The window was facing the highway that goes past the back of the Hospital, then nearest building is across it over the speeding cars and trucks on the road. Ghostgal threw out a Light Orb to smash open the window then she sped through it, in a flash of light she made it to the building across the highway. Isaac increased his running, thinking if she can make that jump then so can he. He went to the hole where the window was, put one foot on the end then push himself forward, using the heat built up under his feet to give himself a boost.

  It wasn't enough, he only made it halfway. Isaac felt himself falling, the road coming quickly, fast enough for him to become a pancake. In desperation he started flapping his arms like an idiot out of a cartoon, hoping he has the ability to fly, screaming in horror as he has made a terrible mistake. Then as suddenly as it began, heat burst from both his forearms.

  Isaac held himself in the air, the heat acting like thrusters that are keeping him in the air for a short while, while he was slowly going down. He adjusted his wrists to steer, along with his legs hanging under him as he could glide over to the building. 'Awesome!' he said, it's not flying but it's better than being a huge splat on the road.

  He glide over to the building and place his feet on the rooftop, deactivating his new Heat Thrusters. 'Ok Ghostgal, nowhere to run now…' he paused, seeing as she had already left. Of course she would have continued running while he was getting the hang of his new ability, what else did he expect? Isaac groaned, 'Mike is so going to kill me'

  'I am so going to kill you' said Mike ten minutes later once Isaac caught up with them in the courtyard. He explained what had happened while the ACA tend to the victims, questioning the doctors and nurses about Ghostgal, hopefully they won't get in trouble since they had no idea she was an Aftershok. 'How did you let her get away, you had one job!'

  'Hey, hey! I was trying not to give the road a fresh coat of red paint thank you very much' said Isaac holding up a finger to him. 'Besides how was I supposed to know she would freak out on seeing me?'

  'She believed Solkivich would have convinced you in joining the Revolution' Mike said to him. 'And of course end the lives of Rebecca and I in the process so seeing us is definitely a surprise for her'

  'Great, and since Isaac refused she thought that Metal Russian would have killed all three of us' said Rebecca leaning against the car. 'You know, we didn't have Aftershoks out to get us before we met you'

  'You should feel honoured' grinned Isaac tilting his head. He then turn back to Mike, 'Why don't we go ask her family if they know where she might go?'

  'We would if Sarah Hyland was actually her real name' Mike told him. 'I had it checked, that is the name of an actress who is currently filming in LA, far, far away from Australia right now'

  'So not only did she get away from us…'

  'Us?' Mike said coldly.

  'Ok, me' waved Isaac, 'But we don't even have her real identity which means this is a dead end'

  'Guess we just have to go to my backup plan' said Mike. 'One that I really didn't want to use'

  'Why not?' asked Rebecca.

  'Because not only would we be breaking some laws but it would be putting you in serious danger Isaac' said Mike.

  'I hate it already' whimpered Isaac.

  'Oh man up, I'm sure it won't be that bad' said Rebecca. She turned back to Mike, 'So what is it?'

  'We will put Isaac into the middle of the Revolution to get information' Mike explained. 'On their plans for the ACA building, this Ember person they are looking for, but hopefully get a location on their main whereabouts'

  'You want me to dangle myself in the middle of a whole bunch of people who wants to unalive me?' said Isaac.

  'We would take precautions of course' Mike got into the car, 'I'll explain back at the office'

  Rebecca opened up the front seat door, before Isaac could get into the back a voice called out to him, 'Hey you!' he turned to see the Nurse Gloria walking up to him, having been finished giving her statement to the ACA agents. She stood with her arms folded. 'I heard Sarah got away from you, how the hell did that happen?'

  'I was busy' said Isaac.

  'Doing what?'

  'Trying not to splat, did you really come here to go off at me? Cause the detective already did that himself' he gestured to Mike waiting in the driver's seat, Rebecca still at the door looking at them.

  'Actually I wanted to say thank you' said Gloria.

  'Well you can take it and shove…. Say what?' Isaac tilt his head in confusion.

  'I didn't know what Sarah would have done; I have been hard on that girl during work hours' said Gloria. 'It's because of you my children get to see their mother come home tonight. So thank you'

  Isaac clearly didn't know what to do, he was taken aback by this sudden development' 'Um, your welcome' he said rubbing the back of his head. 'Trust me I didn't want anyone to get hurt'

  'Besides you?'

  'Especially me, I didn't want to get hurt' he joked.

  Gloria actually smiled, 'Well, consider this making us even for the damages. Don't expect me to be your personal nurse if you get yourself killed'

  'I have my Heat Absorb to heal my injuries' Isaac shrugged, 'But I will keep that in mind'

  'Good luck in finding Sarah' said Gloria as she walked away. 'That girl is a lot of trouble then she's worth' Isaac saluted her goodbye with two fingers then made his way to the back seat, seeing Rebecca's beaming smile.

  'What?' he asked.

  'That was nice' she said. 'She might be the first person who appreciates having you around'

  Isaac grinned, 'Does this mean you're warming up to me as well?'

  'Don't get ahead of yourself' she scowled as she got into the car. Isaac got into the backseat behind her. 'I tolerate you, that is all'

  'Eh, it's a step' he shrugged.

  Mike chuckled as they moved out from the parking lot and onto the street, past the ACA tanks as they drove through downtown back to Uptown where the Police Station is. Isaac lean back in the backseat, feeling quite good about himself, sure the bad girl got away but at least he got one person knowing he is a superhero, even though that same person kicked him in the nuts not an hour ago.

  The sun was setting as they got back to the carpark. Isaac followed them into the lifts as he has questions about this Hero weirdo he has to meet tonight. 'What can I expect from him, like how scared should I be if he finds out I'm spying for you guys'

  'Well, he did implode a guy with his fingers' Rebecca told him. 'I read about it in a case, the poor guy imploded from the inside as he was condensed in himself, if that makes any sense'

  'I am now regretting this plan!' cried Isaac.

  'You will be fine' grunted Mike.

  'He will implode me!'

  'All you gotta do is tell him you were forced against your will by us' Mike said. 'Make us the bad guy in your story, say to him you want to be free from the mortal's grasp and hopefully he would take your word for it'

  'And if he doesn't?'

  Mike grunted, 'Then he might implode you' he said quietly.

  'We would be monitoring from this building' Rebecca told him. 'If things go sideways we would get you out'

  'How fast would you get me out before the imploding?' asked Isaac.

  'Stop talking about the imploding' said Mike.

  'I can't it's all I think about!'

  They reached the third floor, hopefully by now most of the officers went home, leaving the place half empty for Isaac to be sneaked to the office. Mike and Rebecca walked on each side as they head for the office, until another voice called out to him, 'HEY YOU!'

  'Sheesh I'm popular today' mumble Isaac to see an angry looking old man in a captain's uniform marching up to him. Isaac doubts he's here to thank him for some heroic achievement. 'Johnson, I told you I don't want this freak in here' he spat at Mike, pointing his finger right in Isaac's face.

  'Ouch, my pride' said Isaac.

  'There is nowhere else we can keep him' Mike said not showing any fear. 'I need him for a case we are working on'

  'I will not have any freaks in this precinct' said the Captain. 'The sooner you get rid of him the better'

  'This freak has feelings mate' Isaac said to him, his heat boiling off him now.

  The Captain turn his red filled face to him, Isaac isn't that scared since he is pretty angry himself now. 'You watch your tongue young man' he said coldly, 'You have no right to say anything to an officer of the law'

  'I have right to say something about a red face prick sticking his fat finger in my face' Isaac said to him.

  'What the hell did you say to me?' fumed The Captain.

  Before fists or pistols start flying, Rebecca got between them two and held Isaac back. 'Ok Dad that's enough, we got the picture' she said looking at the old man.

  Isaac tilt his head, his anger quickly getting replaced with sudden confusion. 'Dad?!'

  The Captain sigh, 'Look Rebecca, I want you off this case. You shouldn't mess with any Aftershok cases in the first place, leave it to the ACA'

  'The ACA has been making us look like jokes' said Rebecca, clearly not backing down. Isaac is a little impressed but he is still asking Mike 'Dad?'

  The Captain rubbed the brim of this nose, his moustache bristling. 'I don't want you to follow this case, leave it to Mike if he wants to get himself killed so badly'

  'It's my job as his partner to help him' Rebecca said. 'I am not dropping this case, so you can either accept that or leave me alone' she walked into the office, slamming the door behind her.

  Mike, The Captain and Isaac stood there in the silence for a moment, which was broken when Isaac asked 'Dad?!'

  'We have work to do Captain, so if you don't mind' Mike said as he went to the door, grabbing Isaac's hood and dragging him along.

  'You better not let anything happen to her Johnson' he said as they both enter the office and closed the door.

  Isaac sat on the couch, Rebecca was at her desk with her face in her hands, trying to calm herself down. 'You know, I sort of have an anger problem myself' Isaac said to her. She looked at him, raising an eyebrow. 'OK, maybe more than sort of' added Isaac.

  'Oh zip it' she said.

  Mike pulled out a phone from his desk and handed it to Isaac. 'Here, this is your new phone'

  'For me?' beamed Isaac taking it, 'And it's not even my birthday, or maybe it is. I completely lost track of the days since I went into a coma'

  'That phone is for emergency only' Mike said to him, 'When I call you better answer, which reminds me put this in your ear' he handed him an earbud, 'Just tap it to answer and speak into it, another tap to hang up' Isaac put it in his ear. 'We would be able to track the phone of course just in case your Ankle Bracelet goes offline tonight'

  'That's good to know' said Isaac. 'Does it come with an "Oh Shit" button for when I'm in danger?'

  'Triple Zero is the standard call as always' sigh Mike. 'Just don't get it destroyed or discovered'

  Isaac put the phone in his pocket, turning his head to Rebecca he asked 'Seriously, you ok?'

  She gave him a thumbs up. 'Just some drama with my Dad, nothing to worry about'

  'I am still confused on that whole Dad situation' said Isaac leaning back. 'There is a story there, I just know it'

  Before Rebecca could tell him, Mike said 'She wanted to be a cop since she was a little girl, The Captain forbid her so she joined the police academy and became a cop just to spite him'

  Rebecca pouted, 'Wow, nice summery of my story there'

  'You are not the first daughter who joined the force' said Mike taking a seat at his desk. 'Now here is the plan. We know Hero is coming to meet you tonight Isaac, but where?'

  'At that building across the road' Isaac told them pointing out the window.

  'Good, we can monitor from here in the office. We keep the lights off and listen in with some equipment I've "Acquired" from the CIA'

  'We don't have the CIA in Australia' said Rebecca.

  'Isaac, you will tell Hero you want to join the Revolution. Make something up to convince him you want to join; you can place the blame on us if it will helps. Once he accepts you he will take you to their hideout where Rebecca and I will follow on the tracker on your Ankle Bracelet' he held up his phone. 'While you're there, try to get as much information as you can on their plans'

  'Alrighty' said Isaac. 'What's my codeword for when I'm busted?'

  'Do you need a codeword?' asked Mike.

  'Come on haven't you seen any movie like ever? A code for when I've been made, like Pancakes, or The Sparrow Flies South for Winter'

  'Isn't that for punching someone?' said Rebecca.

  'Your codeword is "I'm a little Princess" happy?' grunted Mike.

  'No I am not' said Isaac, 'I want something cool not something that will make me sound girly…' once again he fell to the ground, spazzing from the electricity running through him. Mike took his thumb off the button. Isaac raised up his hand from the ground and point at him. 'Ok… Princess it is…'

  Rebecca couldn't help but laugh, Isaac manage to climb back onto the couch. 'Don't worry' she said to him. 'Mike's plans usually never go wrong'

  'Usually?' he asked.

  'Well, there are moments where they fell apart at which point we improvise' she said.

  'I'm going to die tonight aren't I?'

  'Probably'
