Chapter 6 -Fast As Light Swift As Lighting!

“Hana the 7th Superior enters the battle! Oh yeah folks, this one’s gonna be a good one!” said the announcer.

“Her opponent will be Niton! Oh ho, this guy looks menacing!” the announcer yelled.

Niton was from the distant planet known as Aroustmung. Their specialty is blending in well anywhere—you could say they are imposters on ships. They can morph and have other special abilities.

“I’m going to rip you limb from limb, part by part, piece by piece, and you will suffer through every second of it,” Niton said in a menacing tone.

  “BEGIN!”

“My power is called Rip’n. Rip’n has a radius of 14 meters and can rip anything within that radius. Lucky me, you’re in my radius. But I want to make this overkill!”

Niton opened his mouth with drool coming down and yelled out, “TENGAI!”

The crowd was astonished. It takes years to master a Tengai form or even a Tengai state.

“I still don’t get Tengai, Master Kyuusen,” Kyuuko said as she watched the battle of Hana vs. Niton.

“Tengai, the natural flow of the universe, a natural energy that inhabits all. Though some can use magic and some can use aura, Tengai is different from both. It’s raw, more powerful than the two. Ten means the word sky while the word Gai means beyond. Together it’s beyond the sky. In other cases it translates to Outside Heaven.

Tengai is naturally flowing, flowing in you and everything. Everyone uses Tengai, but no one can use its physical form. Tengai training takes years. Using Tengai in its physical state can be harmful to oneself if one doesn’t know how to control it.

Tengai can be used for many things. As we see in this battle, Tengai is being used to multiply the power output of his main ability. You can amplify it as much as you want. It only depends on how much Tengai you're using. You could get a multiplication of infinity, but you would have to learn to control it.

When a Tengai user fights a non-Tengai user, the non-Tengai user cannot block any of the attacks nor strike back. But that's only if the Tengai user is using Tengai to block the attack. A Tengai user must learn defense more than offense.

One touch and the non-Tengai user is out. While in a Tengai vs. Tengai fight, both users need to have a balance of defense and offense. If one is more than the other, well, that's where a slip-up might happen.

Did you get all that, Kyuuk—WHAT!”

Rei stopped as he saw Kyuuko knocked on the floor.

  “Too… much… information… uuuh.”

Kyuuko was knocked out due to a lot of information.

“I got all of it, Master,” said Amaki.

“Of course the smart sister got it all,” Rei sighed.

  “How about Tenkai?” asked Amaki.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

“That’s for another time. Let’s just watch how this battle plays out. It caught my interest.”

  Back to the arena.

“MY RADIUS IS NOW 50 METERS AND YOUR—”

Niton stopped mid-sentence, only to get interrupted by Hana.

“—In my radius,” Hana calmly said.

  “WHAT?!” yelled Niton.

“My turn to show you something cool.”

A flash of yellow light appeared from the sky.

  CRASH.

Lightning fell from the sky. Hana’s hair was different, and she was wearing a yellow-like battle outfit. Lightning was swirling around her.

“I will take you on seriously, for you are also taking me on seriously.

As fast as light, swift as lightning.”

Hana said this as she stared at Niton dead in his eyes.

“She’s not even using Tengai! Does she take me for a fool?! I’ll show her!” Niton thought to himself.

  “IT’S RIP’N TIME!”

Niton launched an attack, but it wasn’t fast enough.

  “Too slow…”

Hana, as fast as light, zipped through Niton and right behind him.

Before he could mutter a word, lightning struck. A huge beam-sized lightning bolt hit the ground, and Niton was evaporated.

Hana looked around to see if Sen was watching.

  He wasn’t there.

He went to get snacks from the cart in the main lobby.

  “HANA WINS!”

The crowd went wild as Niton sat on the bench disappointed.

The two siblings from the bar watched the battle.

“This power… it looks familiar. Actos? Could she be related to him?” said the cloaked brother.

“Yes, it has to be that. Both must be related in some way. Actos uses lightning as well,” added the sister.

“Your up next, sister,” said the cloaked brother.

“Remember our mission. Win as fast as possible without revealing who you are. Even though villains can join this tournament, we are forbidden to join any. Revealing who you are will put us at risk of failing our mission.”

“But brother, we don’t even know if the Hamazak is even real,” stated the sister.

“I believe it's real. Why else is it said that a divine guardian is guarding it?” the brother said.

  “Understood,” the sister replied.

“Your fake name is Nosoka. Remember that.”

  “Understood,” said Nosoka.

  “NOSOKA VS LAK!”

  The crowd went wild.

  “BEGIN!”

“Wait, what? Why is Nosoka sitting, and why is Lak standing still?!”

  Everyone was confused.

  Then Lak spoke.

  “So… be…”

Drool came out of his mouth and his eyes rolled to the back of his head as if he had been hit in the head too many times.

Lak spoke again, but it was different.

  “Beautiful.”

  Lak fell apart.

He had been cut in half from top to bottom.

He split open. His arms fell off. His hands fell off. Everything just fell. Blood poured onto the floor, his eyes rolling across the floor like grapes.

It was just a pool of blood. His body flopped into one place like a bag of meat ready to be sent to the butcher. Every part of Lak’s body was oozing blood. The sound of mushy oatmeal could be heard as the body parts slipped and hit the ground with a large squash sound.

The crowd was horrified, for nothing happened—but something happened.

No time was manipulated. No speed was detected.

“I don’t even sense Tengai,” Hana said in a mortified voice.

“What kind of power is this? How can I beat this?” Akai questioned.

Meanwhile, Sen was munching on his snacks, not a care in the world. He wasn’t even phased by it.

“Master Rei! What was that?!” Amaki yelled in surprise.

“There was no Tengai used at all!” Amaki added.

“There was use of Tengai…” Rei said.

  “What? How?” Amaki questioned.

  “That was Tenkai,” Rei said.

“This is odd. You and Kyuuko should investigate,” Rei told Amaki.

“Alright! Let’s get to fighting!” Kyuuko woke up from her nap.

“None of you are going into the tournament. It's too late to sign up anyway. I myself have already signed up. Besides, this investigation is mine alone. I will not involve my comrades in this mess,” said a strange cloaked man with a hat on his head.

  “Eeeeh?!” said Amaki and Kyuuko.

“Ho ho, look who’s here,” said Rei.

“It’s been a while, Master Rei. How are the others doing?” said the cloaked man.

“Everyone's doing fine here. These two cats keep making a lot of noise. So, how’s my number one doing? You're the most powerful here. It's been so long I almost forgot your name, Hunta,” Rei said with excitement.

“Hunta? More like Bounty Hunter, haha,” Kyuuko laughed and made fun of him.
