CHAPTER 15: OVERLORD

  Nysia.

  Under the

A gale of wind formed near the

  A second later it stopped.

Now, there was a two-meter tall human-like figure standing there.

The human who had his eyes closed, opened his eyes.

  A pair of

  He took a deep breath.

“Ah… Who would have thought... that I would return like this…”

  Zalchys mumbled.

Suddenly he chuckled as his lips curved into a smile and then—

  “AHAHAHAHAHA…”

He burst into laughter, holding his stomach as tears welled in his eyes. He threw his head back and cackled like a maniac for minutes.

He lay on his back, arms and legs spread wide, staring up at the tree branches above him.

At this moment, the other parts of Nysia calmed down.

Soon, a small vortex of wind appeared beside him.

It quickly disappeared right after, and a woman wearing an elegant black-robe was now standing there.

She had long-black hair cascading down her enchanting figure.

She slowly moved closer to Zalchys’s head. She sat down, gently resting his head on her lap.

Zalchys felt as though he were gazing at a scene drawn from a dream.

A divinely beautiful face with a pair of deep-blue eyes was looking at him adoringly.

He slowly lifted his left hand and caressed the delicate yet firm cheeks.

The woman cupped his face with both hands, her head leaning down. Her petal-like lips curving into an affectionate smile.

They could feel each other’s warm breath, their lips only a centimeter apart.

A gentle smile also bloomed in Zalchys’s face.

Then the woman closed her eyes and—

  She kissed his lips.

Zalchys closed his eyes too, kissing her back.

Long black hair slid down from the corner of her ears and hid both of their faces.

The couple lost themselves in a passionate kiss for a few fleeting moments before parting… Reluctantly.

“Elestria… or are you Naqeera now?”

Zalchys asked with a tender voice while his fingers played with the long strands of her hair.

“It doesn't matter what you call me, what matters is that we both know who I really am…”

The woman replied with a dreamy voice while wearing a mysterious smile on her face. Her hands tousled his hair.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

“Yes… names… they don't matter when I'm with you. I don't care whatever the rest of the world calls you.”

Zalchys said as his lips curved into a subtle smirk.

“The world, huh? Now that you mention it, I understand almost everything that happened. They took advantage of my feelings for you...”

Elestria’s voice trailed off as a cold glint flashed in her eyes.

Zalchys chuckled softly and said in a teasing tone,

“Woman, you were also at fault you know… Just because they told you something like that, you chose to believe that I actually abandoned you? And here I thought you would be happy with a big family cause you won't have to be alone anymore! Hahaha! I don't know whom to blame here!”

Elestria let out a cold harrumph and said in an agitated tone,

“Stop joking! You know me very well and yet you kept it a secret! I really, really hate you for that!”

Her eyebrows knitted together, she pinched his cheeks tightly.

  “Ouch!”

Zalchys pretended to be hurt and said while wearing a wronged face,

“Sigh, I really can't understand women.”

  “Stop pretending!”

  Elestria scolded.

  “Hahaha! Alright, alright!”

He paused and then continued in a serious tone this time—

“You probably have already figured it out by now. After that incident, I thought I would be trapped here forever.”

His eyes became cold after reaching this point.

“In the past 1,741 years, I’ve lived through countless things… Each event bleeding into the next, until despair nearly consumed me more times than I can count.

If not for him… perhaps I would’ve truly faded long ago… Gone before ever seeing my loved ones one last time.”

Listening to his words, Elestria felt her heart clenching. Her face became gloomy.

Zalchys noticed the change in her mood and added,

“However, what happened in the past should no longer hold me back.

The person I am today exists because of everything that came before.

Perhaps without those experiences, I wouldn’t be here right now.

  But… Now that I have returned…”

He lifted his left hand and stretched it towards the sky.

  His glistened in determination.

His left hand curled into a fist as if sealing a vow — to something, someone,

He continued in a confident tone,

  “I SHALL have my revenge.

  I shall make them pay.

I shall reclaim what I lost.

I shall reforge the they wrote for me.

This time, my future will be written by my own hand.”

Elestria’s heart raced as she saw her man was about to announce

  …

  At the unknown

A three-meter-tall was standing before a crowd of over six hundred thousand figures. He had no hair on his head and had a pair of shining in excitement.

On his right was a two-meter-tall, well-built middle-aged with a thick mustache, dressed in black armor. His were shining expectantly.

On his left was a one-meter-tall with a frail body and an expressionless face.

  He had a pair of

Eyes so black that one could mistake them for an endless abyss of DARKNESS.

At this moment, the boy stepped forward, moving closer to the crowd. Then he took a deep breath and started to speak in a loud voice,

He took a pause as the entire place became lively by the grand roar of the crowd—

The air trembled with their thunderous voices.

  The boy continued,

The boy stopped, his eyes moving across the silent figures. In their silence… he found their—

  .

  …

  Somewhere

  Inside an ancient-looking cave.

The walls were rough and dark, marked by cracks and faint carvings worn down by time.

Cold air drifted through the space, carrying the scent of damp stone and silence.

An old man wearing a simple white-robe sat cross-legged atop a huge rock, its surface rising nearly two-meters above the ground.

His skin was deeply wrinkled, yet in sharp contrast, his posture remained firm.

Every line of his body exuded a quiet, profound strength.

On the ground before him, stood a strange, black creature — one-meter-tall, three-meters long.

Seven heads sprouted from its neck.

For some unknown reason, none of the heads had their eyes open.

  However, right now… that changed.

The old man watched as two of the heads slowly began to open their eyes.

The second head from the left revealed a pair of eyes,

  encircling golden pupils.

Then the fourth head, the central one, also opened its eyes,

  encircling golden pupils.

  The old man’s eyes widened.

He smiled and spoke in an old but vigorous voice,

really did wake up… Not just that, he even managed to break two chains in one go! Good! Good! Hey! Kid! Where are you hiding? Come here!”

  He called out to someone.

The sound of light footsteps entered the cave.

A middle-aged man in his early forties, wearing a purple-robe, came and stood beside the black creature. He was quite handsome compared to his age. His physique thin but solid. Pitch-black hair, smooth and white skin. There was a blurry on his right wrist.

The old man atop the rock spoke,

  “Look beside you.”

The man, who just entered, shifted his gaze upon the creature and found two of its heads had their eyes open.

  “T-This… Is it what I… D-does this mean…!?”

The man’s immediately became teary as he covered his mouth with his right hand. He had an eye patch covering his other eye.

Two drops of tears fell on the ground as he mumbled,

“ZALCHYS..! I knew it! I knew he would be fine, no matter where he is!”

“I can’t wait for his return. It’s been far too many years… I’ve been a ghost in the dark long enough.

It’s time to leave this hellhole. I can almost taste the moment their jaws hit the floor. Hahahahaha.”

The old man clenched his fists; the laughter had an edge that didn’t reach his eyes.

“Zephyr, you take care of this little balcky here for now. I have to prepare a few things to make his arrival smooth. So that, when the time finally comes, he is greeted with all that he deserves!”

The old man just finished talking and—

He vanished from his spot before Zephyr could respond.

“Master, you..! Sigh… it can't be helped I guess. A person like him living in a cave truly is an injustice.”

Zephyr sighed as he patted the black creature on his right.

“Little blacky, just a bit more… we will soon reunite with him! And then…”

  Zephyr’s voice faded into silence.

Then he slowly removed his eye patch, revealing a similar eye as the other one. But a hint of golden hue was mixed in this red eye. His lips parted, revealing two sharp canines as his crimson-eyes gleamed with a sinister light.

A cruel smile crept across his face.

Together with the white-teeth glinting against the dark and those gleaming red eyes, he looked vicious.

Squinting his eyes, he whispered in a low, hungry tone,

  “When that happens…

  …

  Nysia.

  Under the

Locked in each other’s arms, Zalchys and Elestria lay upon the ground, their bodies tangled in silent warmth.

Elestria asked in a soft voice,

“Have you recovered your strength? What are your plans for the time being? Shall we immediately leave this place?”

  Zalchys replied,

“Unfortunately, no… I've only broken two chains so far. There are still a few more waiting to be broken. Besides… I have a feeling that things aren't as simple as they are appearing to be on the surface.”

  He paused and added inwardly,

‘Not to mention, I feel like I'm forgetting something. It's as if... Something is very wrong with almost everything I see...'

Then continued in a melancholic tone,

“Back then, I was new to this power of nature. I found it very difficult to comprehend.

What I had previously were supernatural abilities. Before this, I never even considered the idea of using nature's laws like this.

  But… later I realized the

They don't know… what this place actually is…

Those fools have no real idea about this place!”

His lips curved into a mocking smile.

“Of course, I was the same before all of this happened. But, heh! They thought they were putting a leash on ME? How na?ve! I am like a fish swimming in the water!”

Elestria saw Zalchys's smug grin and couldn't help but chuckle.

“Those hypocritical are blinded by their own light.

They possess eyes, yet behold nothing but their own lies.

They possess ears, yet shut out every voice but their own to hear.

  Ha! How pitifully laughable!”

A look of pure disdain crossed his face.

“Then how about now? Do you think you've grasped the control of this place? The power of nature I meant.”

Elestria asked in a curious tone.

“The natural laws of this land? They no longer govern me!

They reside me, obedient to my will.

I no longer need to wield my power; if I desire it, it shall manifest.

Every secret of this place has already been etched into my soul.

And once I shatter the final chain…

I shall become the of this—

Zalchys’s eyes flickered as a surge of lethal intent coursed through him, suffocating and fierce.
