CHAPTER V The world Order takes over - 4

SCENE 05-4 – WO assumes control

Location: Alien site within the Nazca Lines.

  Time: 01.02.15 – 08:30:00 UTC-4

Setting: Outer military base under construction.

The helicopter carrying General of the Army Héctor Valdivieso, Chief of Defense Staff for South America, Western Sector, together with Commander John O’Neill, fighter pilot and astronaut, was landing in front of all the troops stationed at the military base near the alien site, code name Area 14.75.

I stood beside Niajin, who never left my side, outside the crystal chamber.”

From the terrace of the military airfield—built in record time in front of the base—I watched the arrival of the SA-Force-3 helicopter.

We had been released only recently, after the “courteous meetings” between Niajin and the officials of the WO.

That helicopter could mean only one thing.

“Damn it, the head of the armed forces of our sector himself. Trouble ahead.”

I didn’t like that arrival at all. I knew all too well the kind of power they represented.

After the interrogations we had been released and had resumed our duties, but under strict surveillance, and we were forbidden to enter the hall—something that deeply saddened Niajin.

However, her communication with the inner crystal had never been interrupted—and only I knew it.

“Does this mean the requested works will go ahead?”

Niajin, beside me, looked at me; in her eyes I read all her concern about the arrival of people wielding such immense power within the WO.

“I believe so. As scientific officer, I’ve been informed that a large quantity of materials will arrive in the coming days. The orders will be carried out to the letter—there’s going to be a lot of work here over the next six months.”

“Will they manage it in six months?”

“I think this time the president won’t tolerate any delay. When they want to, they can get things done properly.”

  “Ah,” said Niajin.

I watched the general step down onto the newly completed airstrip, fitted for the multiple requirements of the new facilities.

I didn’t like him—but the man at his side I liked even less. His uniform clearly showed a high rank in the air force, the very same branch to which I belonged.

“What’s he doing here?” I wondered.

He could hold functions very similar to mine. My instinct told me to stay alert around him.
