An orb of light shot out from the purple core cube and hovered over the construction site.
This magical orb started boiling and quickly turned into a little blazing sun!
Using the sun as a furnace, construction resources like sand flowed in and out flew refined material like tempered glass…
With the birth of the alchemized articles, the construction foundation visibly started building itself up according to the blueprint…
Stone laid out the foundation, wood constructed a towering frame, and glass panes walled up the entire structure…
The heat from the sun furnace soon died down and the last of its flames dispersed, melting into the structure to give the mage tower a mystical finishing touch!
The result was a glass tower that looked like a beautiful crystal prism! This was the…
[Observatory (Lv. 1)]
A lookout to scry the world beyond.
[Upgrade]
x8 wood, x8 cobblestone, x32 sand, x1 emerald, 5 core energy
“Hmm? Looks like the upgrade cost actually dropped back to the average upgrade requisites for a level one building, but with a special gem requirement…”
Yu Zhiye felt this makes sense. Establishing the foundation always costs more than tiny upgrades. As for the gem?
“Sweet stars above, how convenient! I just so happen to possess a useless emerald! Haha.”
Now, it’s just a matter of collecting other basic resources… again.
“The grind shall never end.” Yu Zhiye sighed but didn’t think there was anything wrong with it.
“Meh, time to check out this new observatory of mine.” In-person.
After restarting the wood generator using his last point, Yu Zhiye’s consciousness left god mode and returned to his body.
Out the shack he went. Cross over the pond of sand and he quickly arrived at his destination.
Yu Zhiye looked up at the tall crystal tower and smacked his lips. “Uwah, looking at it in person really makes it feel all that more grand.”
Stepping inside, he was greeted by an interior that looked like a gypsy’s tent, except with walls made from crystal-clear glass possessing a mystical glow from time to time.
Okay, though he said gypsy’s tent, the place was mostly empty, save for the crystal ball on a waist-high pedestal that took root at the center.

“Well? What did I expect? A fortune teller’s crystal ball really did match the theme.”
Yu Zhiye walked up to the pedestal and circled around it like an art inspector.
At a glance, the crystal ball was filled with the same foggy gray mist that makes up the gloomy dome outside. It was impossible to see anything special here.
What attracted his attention next was the pedestal holding the ball.
Inlaid into the front of the pedestal right beneath that crystal ball was a royal-purple gem alongside nine hollow gemstone grooves that wrapped around the crystal ball like a ring.
“One for each level I guess? But will the max only be ten?”
Unsure. He won’t know until he stands at the peak.
Yu Zhiye’s sight then fell further...
Not far down, there appeared to be a card dispenser slot on the pedestal block.
He wasn’t sure about this slot’s function. For all he knew, it could be a card reader or deposit slot.
“Whatever it’s for, I’ll eventually know.”
For now, Yu Zhiye was more interested in the crystal ball’s function.
“How does this work? Will it let me see the future like a seer? Or will it work like a certain Third Hokage’s favorite crystal ball? Hehe.”
Yu Zhiye hovered his hands over the ball and moved it around like gypsies do in movies. “Fate is a shadow, and truth is a mirror. Show me the path, make the unseen clearer!”
He willed for something to show up, but… nothing happened.
“Uh…?” Yu Zhiye paused his magical motion. “How do I use this? Is there a button somewhere that I need to press? Or...”
Yu Zhiye tried touching the purple gem that stood out like a sore thumb.
On contact, the gem glowed and the gray fog in the crystal ball stirred!
The swirling gray mist gradually pulled aside like a curtain, presenting a crystal clear scene at the heart of it all.
Yu Zhiye leaned in and observed the picture. “Um? This is… the toilet stall outside?”
And going by this perspective, the corresponding location should be exactly the spot he placed his portal door!
“Ah, looks like the observatory unlocks a door camera? What’s next? A door bell at level two?”
Yu Zhiye felt it was a bit of a letdown, but this little convenience wasn’t unacceptable.
“Meh. Whatever. At least I can now check if there are campers outside before going out.”
Security rating +1!
Once Yu Zhiye let go of the gem, the glow faded away and the gray fog caved back in, turning everything back into a crystal globe of gray.
“Well, that’s that.”
Since there was nothing else worth exploring here, Yu Zhiye hurried back to the shack to finish up what he officially came to do.
The new game chest got placed in a corner. Then, he moved all his raw fish, edible food, fruits, drinks, and even some of the junk like empty bottles into the new bank!
Stackable loot occupied a grid. Small non-stackable stuff got packed into treasure caskets.
With this method, out of 27 grids, barely 24 got filled up!
His living space? Clean! His inventory? 5 slots free!
Spatial storage device for the win!
“Cool, cool! But to think this is only a blue-grade item!”
Then again, the chest’s function was pretty singular and added nothing to combat power. It was basically a storage container like the treasure casket—just a much more advanced version.
For one, each grid of this inventory chest can carry a max stack just like his inventory bar!
He can’t store x64 cobblestones inside the small treasure casket, but there’s no problem packing all that in here! Even the treasure caskets could be stored in a grid!
What an amazing item!
“From now on, getting more chests should be another priority! One day, I shall own a full room of chests!”
Of course, collecting more treasure caskets was similarly on the agenda.
Though the inventory chest was awesome, it was fixed in place and can’t hold anything once it enters the player inventory.
The treasure casket didn’t have such a flaw!
“Speaking of treasure casket…”
Yu Zhiye went over to the new treasure casket he just fished out today. “Wonder what I’ll find in here…”
The lid flipped open without much suspense.
Inside, there was actually none of the usual junk he expected!
Instead, there was a worn-out steel-nibbed pen and next to that was a few tattered parchment!
“What’s this?” Yu Zhiye carefully picked up the pages to avoid damaging them and skimmed through it. “This is… a diary?”
