My mission… my important mission.
And my end goal.
I want to make my dream come true.
It was the reason why I did everything until now.
For it, I’d gladly die.
And yet, his words managed to shake my strong belief, albeit for a while.
Could I live my life if all my friends died? I couldn’t!
Would I regret my actions? Yes, I would!
But was my end goal worth all that? Yes, it was.
To make sure there were no more children like Lily, to make my country a better place and maybe even to help restore humanity to its former glory… my life was a small price to pay for all that.

I couldn’t know if all my compatriots thought the same way.
The only thing I knew was that they were with me on this hellish journey.
I couldn’t stop now and trample on all their trust in me. I had to move forwards, until my end.
After all, this was just the beginning; none of my goals had been accomplished.
How could I stop now when I’m yet to do anything I wish for?

Even if we were all wiped out, as a sole survivor, you would finish my mission.

When I saw the sunrise on the horizon, I concluded my reflection.
I kissed him on his cheek. I wanted to do something else, but didn’t want the others to find out. I needed to keep such thoughts out of my head until the mission was over. Then, I would like to repeat that experience with him.
“Thank you for worrying about me. I really appreciate it. I decided to finish what I started. With you by my side, I know we will be successful.”
“As you wish,” he said flatly, accepting my decision and saying no more on this matter.
We woke our teammates, had breakfast and continued travelling.
We still had a long way to go.
