Clara had always looked forward to being the saintess, even when her class of Healer practically required her to be. She got some of the rarest achievements for healing, which brought her up to Level 25 at a shockingly young age of 20. The average level for that age range, or really for anyone was 20.
And she had surpassed that with ease just by being herself. She felt good about that, but when it happened it was almost magical.
[Class Evolution; Healer -> Saintess]
She looked on at the notification while her system automatically reoriented the stats of that level. Clara reached out for it and it closed, and she felt her skills and traits shift to match that role slightly better.
She could almost hear the god of light speak to her; “Ah, splendid that you can hear me now. Tell Shadowing-” the voice cut out as soon as the word shadowing was able to be made out, but the echoes were stuck in Clara’s head.
It was like someone walked in and shifted her thoughts around like furniture, and decided to crash on the couch and couldn’t be woken up. And Clara really wanted to wake this stranger up. But she could tell that it was probably the god that was speaking to her.
She couldn’t tell much about this god, but this link felt… awfully good. And important, as she was truly the Saintess who could speak easily to Brightness’s Delight, the god of Light. Unfortunate how the system seemed to get in the way of it.
48 - Queen
Clara looked at the queen as the music filled her veins, the person flying overhead and landing besides Shammus and Pallad. Clara sighed as she looked at the crown of light upon the elvish queen’s head.
Judine ran up besides Clara, and she only now looked at the notification that accompanied the strong music flowing through her.
[Class Evolution; True Blooded Saintess -> Demigod of Life]
And she stared clearly at the foe standing before her and Judine. She felt the very life force all throughout the kingdom, and she could tell she could draw upon it. Her healing was limited but also; she now had complete dominion over life as she felt two feathery wings sprout from her back.
She saw a warm glow as a voice guided her, “Ah, Life is a great dominion, especially for someone as talented as you.” She followed the voice’s instructions as Judine stood there in similar. Her ribbons glowed as they were now covered with clocks.
Time, or space, seemed to warp around Judine and Clara smiled lightly. The two supporting classes just got partial dominion at minimum of the two greatest dominions of magic. Chronomancy and… no, certainly not Biomancy.
Biomancy is the study of biology, but life isn’t only biological. It’s psychological and fundamental to everything as she could feel even the air’s own life. Potentially bacteria, potentially the very floors own vitality.
The queen looked at the two of them with an odd glint, the same as a child seeing candy through the window. Judine’s eyes glowed brighter gold and Clara could only presume her’s glowed a brighter pink alongside her magic.
Judine and Clara both rushed forward, similar to what Pallad would do, and the queen’s arrogance was proven to just simply be pride. As in a singular instant Clara saw the queen collect life around them, as it warped.
Judine seemed just as shocked so Clara pulled at Judine’s lifeforce to pull her back from the rush. The queen seemed a little saddened by that as the beam of life mixed with time shot out at the two of them. Clara dove to the right, in between an alley as Judine ran in a different direction.

The two were split but Clara could still feel Judine’s lifeforce, alongside five other impossibly strong presences. She could guess that one of them was the queen, alongside Bariton, Shammus, and Pallad.
They all probably held similar class evolutions. But who was the fifth? She couldn’t wrap her head around that as more beams of light, lifeforce shot down from above from the queen who was laughing dancing along the sky. Her eyes glowed green, and Clara froze for just a moment.
That was Heavenly. And she felt the life force again, and how it was burning so much brighter than herself, who was considered a demigod. The queen looked down at Clara with a grin, and simply muttered something under her breath.
But Clara heard it clearly. “Oh, finally you recognize me.” Clara wanted to mutter something back, but she was forced to dodge the beams of lifeforce. Heavenly was burning them, and Clara tried to connect her lifeforce to Judine and the other three.
The other three were out of reach, but Clara felt Judine’s life force link to hers for just a moment. She tried to search through the life, looking for the thoughts that made Judine different from the ambient life surrounding everything, the ambient life within the body.
She finally found them and linked them to her own. They were in vastly different spots, but Clara seemed to have some kind of natural knowledge about herself. She narrowly avoided the splitting of the ground in front of her as Heavenly kept wildly swinging the beams of destruction around.
It’s Heavenly. Clara heard her own thoughts ring out through the connecting lifeforce, and she heard Judine’s thoughts return. It’s who?
The linking was successful. It’s Heavenly, the killer of Sornid. Her thoughts were rushing as her focus was split between those and the beams of death that was launching down like tentacles from a tentacle.
Makes sense why I can’t read the queen’s fate then. Judine’s other thought was confusing, but Clara had no time to think it through. She took some life from the attacks that nearly grazed her, and launched it at Heavenly. When it pierced, she could feel Judine’s lifeforce sever from hers as Heavenly’s voice filled the connection instead.
Whatcha guys talkin about? I’m sure you don’t have anything too worth hiding! Clara heard the murderer's voice as she dove back. The queen dodged the attack, as she kept dancing in the air.
The two were in a stalemate, until Judine launched an attack of whatever she had control over. The queen turned a bit too late as they were knocked out of the sky. Clara rushed over to where the damage was sent from, and found Judine standing atop one of the many buildings.
“Now that isn’t very nice of you.” Heavenly rose, no longer bearing the queen as they rose back into the sky. They were being carried by the two wings that were covering their eyes when Clara first saw them.
“You should know better than to piss me off Clara!” Heavenly launches a more directed force of life towards her, bus she dodged quickly. It narrowly missed, as she felt the wind pass by. A large beam of light came from the strike point.
She looked back at Heavenly to see them laugh as they… “NO!” Clara tried to stop Heavenly from doing whatever the hell it was planning, but she was launched back through a chimney, pulled upon by Judine.
Heavenly was replaced by a massive beam of light as the quest was technically completed. She couldn’t even see the notification as the force from the massive pillar was too great.
Pallad landed alongside her as she heard Heavenly’s voice reenter her mind. Probably actually psychomancy disguising as her own partial divinity. I will not forget what you did here today, Clara, Judine! YOU WILL RUE THE DAY YOU MESSED WITH THE GOD OF-
The voice seemed forced off, as the quest completed notification appeared. Clara could barely describe what had just happened, but she managed out something. A partial truth. They were fighting her, and then she made a strange hand signal and now this is occurring.
She felt an incomparable dread fill her core as the flowing kept up. She could hardly hear Pallad’s response as she saw the other two approach.
