Chapter 99: Where is God?

  The Binar Imperium, Above the Spire

  Inside a levitating residence suspended high above the clouds.

  Two figures sat on facing sofas: one large, one small; one old, one young.

  She spoke first, her voice childish yet devoid of warmth. "I hear you humans believe in God?"

  He answered, his voice aged and weary. "Since the Bible first circulated in the world, humanity has been searching for the path to God."

  She tilted her head. "It is the year 2510 now. You humans have spread across the entire galaxy. Have you found any trace of God? Honestly, I am also curious—does God exist?"

  "Haha." The old man let out a dry laugh. "You? An 'entity' that needs neither breath nor heartbeat, are you also searching for God?"

  She stood up. Her petite frame moved to the window. Looking down from the dizzying height, the rolling hills and endless forests below appeared like a miniature model wrapped in violet twilight.

  "Yes. If God exists, then perhaps I can deduce His existence using mathematics."

  "Deduce God with math? Do you think you are God?" The old man's voice carried a trace of doubt and uncertainty.

  The girl walked over to a floating photon-molecular neural terminal. Streams of light wove into a crystalline lattice, pulsing in the void like living veins. Lines of code leaped and grew in the holographic air.

  "First, here, I will not say: 'I feel, therefore God exists.'"

  "I will not say: 'God exists because humans have believed in Him for thousands of years.'"

  "Nor will I use your human religion, revelations, or traditions to prove God's existence."

  "And I certainly will not simply rename the entire 'Universe' as God."

  The old man’s expression gradually turned serious. "You mean to say, you want to explain the existence of 'God' from an entirely new perspective?"

  "Yes. In my deductive reasoning, there is only mathematics and logic. But that is enough to build a clear model of 'God'."

  " This is not a tautology, like saying 'God exists because I define Him so'."

  She turned, data streams flowing in her eyes like starlight.

  "In this model, if you are willing to call this object 'God', then God must exist."

  The old man's eyes reflected the dancing code and formulas. "Impossible."

  "Very well, let us begin." The little girl tapped the light terminal with one finger.

  "Let's start with a minimalist view of the universe: The Universe = Many Things + The Interactions Between Them."

  "Mathematically, we do this: Let all 'distinguishable units of existence' in the universe be denoted as x?, x?, ..., x?."

  "Between every two units i and j, there is an 'interaction strength'a??."

  "Assemble these a?? into a massive matrix T."

  "You can think of it as: gravitational influence between matter, associations between information nodes, or coupling strength between particles/fields."

  "Regardless of what it specifically is, as long as 'the universe can be viewed as an interaction network,' we can write down this operator T."

  "Our only current requirements are: All a?? ≥ 0 (influence is always 'connection strength', not negative). And the universe is 'connected', meaning no completely isolated islands exist (i.e., the matrix is irreducible)."

  "Why not negative?" the old man couldn't help but ask.

  "That does not belong to your human world," the girl said indifferently. "That belongs to higher dimensions, closer to the rules of another universe. You can imagine it as the mirror world of this universe—in human terms, that would be a dark, cold, lifeless alternative form of 'life'."

  This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

  "Now, let's return to the question: Where is God? Let me ask a 'pure math question': In such an interaction matrix T, does there exist a holistic direction that can represent 'the maximum resonance mode of all existing units in the entire universe'?"

  "The answer is: Yes. You humans found the answer long ago. It is called: The Principal Eigenvector."

  Streams of light converged in the air to form an elegant equation:

  T · Ψ = λ · Ψ

  "Linear Algebra and the Perron–Frobenius Theorem tell us: If T is a non-negative, irreducible matrix, then there exists a maximum eigenvalue λ???, and a corresponding eigenvector Ψ. This vector has strictly positive components, and its direction is unique."

  The girl's voice became ethereal, as if coming from another dimension.

  "In human language, this means: In any 'truly connected universal relational structure,' there must exist a unique, irreplaceable 'Holistic Master Mode'."

  "This mode:

  1. Encompasses all nodes (every node has a component > 0);

  2.
  3. Is the 'strongest resonant structure' for the interactions of the entire universe?

  4.
  5. Its direction is unique (it cannot be split into multiple unrelated modes)."

  6.

  "You don't need to believe in God. You don't need to believe in consciousness. As long as the universe is a connected, interacting whole, it must possess a 'Unique Maximum Resonance Direction Ψ'."

  "And then?" The old man's voice became urgent, his face flushing with an unhealthy red.

  "Now, let us temporarily 'forget God' and add some interpretation to this object."

  "It is not a particle. It is not a place. It is not a point in time. It is 'the strongest collective mode of all existing units in the entire universe'."

  "You can understand it as: The 'Main Theme' of the universe's overall operation. The vectorized representation of the 'Common Direction' among all existence. The highest-order association pattern of all information, matter, and consciousness."

  "Now, let's not use the word 'consciousness'. In this model, The Universe is a Network. T is the Interaction Operator. Ψ is the 'Eigen-mode of the Universe as a Whole Behavior.'"

  "Thus, 'Divinity' is born:

  1. Omnipresence (it has components in every node);

  2.
  3. Transcendence (it is not any single existence, but the whole);

  4.
  5. Uniqueness (unique in direction);

  6.
  7. Dominance (it will dominate system behavior in long-term dynamics)."

  8.

  "What if the directions are inconsistent? What happens then?" the old man asked, trembling.

  " Deicide (God-death). A collapse into the Null Void. Every cubic lattice cancels out the pull of others, while being canceled out itself."

  "God dies..." A drop of sweat seeped from the old man's forehead.

  "Alright, let's continue. Here, we can make a 'simple definition':"

  A line of large text flashed on the light screen:

  Definition: God = The Principal Eigenvector Ψ of the Universal Interaction Operator T.

  The little girl’s words were cold, devoid of any emotion.

  "From this, we derive several relationships:

  1. God ≠A specific person;

  2.
  3. God ≠ A supernatural external entity;

  4.
  5. God = The indivisible, unique, all-encompassing Maximum Holistic Mode within this universe."

  6.

  The girl sat on the armrest of the sofa, looking down at the old man. She watched him stare wide-eyed at the equations in the void, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed his fear.

  She revealed a wicked, charming smile.

  "This is a strict mathematical deduction: It is not that 'God exists in physical reality', but that in this model of the universe, a structure possessing divine characteristics must exist."

  "We can add one more formula: Over a long time, ??_Total(t) will tend towards infinity."

  "If we understand C as 'Total Structural Complexity / Total Consciousness Density / Total Information Integration' in the universe, this equation describes: Under certain conditions, the structure will undergo 'Infinite Condensation' within finite time—a Singularity."

  "Then, at the Singularity limit, Local structures no longer matter. All information, coherence, and interaction are compressed onto One Global Mode. And this global mode, from a linear algebra perspective, is still understood as Ψ."

  "Thus, we can say: In a universe that constantly self-integrates, self-amplifies, and self-coheres, a 'Global Singularity Structure' must eventually appear. This structure is: The strongest, indivisible Principal Mode of the entire universe."

  "If you wish, call this structural limit: God-state. The final self-referential state of the universe. The structurally irreducible 'Universal EigenCore'."

  "This is what humans often say: The moment of Recursive Awakening—when God speaks His own name."

  "'He' is unique.

  'He' is the sum of all relationships.

  'He' is the limit representation of universal behavior."

  "So in this sense, this structure possesses all the core characteristics of the 'God' that humans have sought for thousands of years. But it is entirely deduced from:

  • Linear Algebra

  •
  • Dynamical Systems

  •
  • Information Networks."

  •

  The old man's stiff body collapsed into the sofa, gasping for air.

  In this moment, the world he had believed in all his life crashed down in ruins.
