Iteration 5 - On the Other Side

As the unit prepared for battle, awaiting firing orders, they were shocked to see nothing but an empty field and town. The captain then ordered to send a task force to perform reconnaissance in the village and investigate. However, they were surprised to see another unit. Added to that, the unit was Eurasian, the prime rival of the NADUR.

"Sir, aren't they NADUR forces? What should we do with them?", asked a Eurasian soldier.

"Calm down Natalia, we're allies now remember?", reminded their captain.

  "But sir!"

"I understand your concern, but there is no concern."

  "Y-yes sir."

Meanwhile, everyone was getting bad looks from everyone as almost instinctively, men from both sides had a feeling of disgust against the other side.

"Men, lay your guns at rest, they are allies.", ordered the Eurasian captain.

The Eurasians looked at each other confused. Hesitatingly, one soldier finally laid his gun at rest. The others seeing this also laid their guns down. However, suspicion was still amongst the two units.

"NADUR Task Force, of the Space Battleship Nova, group leader Arthur Real."

"Eurasian Recon Group Leader, Petrov Andrestov. Nice to meet you. I assume, we are in fair grounds now. I look forward to cooperating with you."

"Now if you may excuse me for a moment."

"Of course.", answered the Eurasian to Arthur.

He then slowly walked to the back of his group and used his radio to communicate back to ship.

"Captain, we've found another task force, a Eurasian one. What are we supposed to do?"

The captain was shocked. It seems to be that not even she was informed of the Eurasians.

"They seem to be of good intention.", Arthur added.

The captain hesitated. Again, that instinct to be disgusted of Eurasians kicked in. However, as allies, she would follow usual military traditions.

"Invite them unto the ship, we'll land a transport vehicle east of your position."

  "Understood, captain."

He slowly went back to the front and went face to face once again with the Eurasians.

"Our captain invites you to our ship. A transport vehicle will land shortly just near here."

The leader then looked back at his group and made a quick radio call."

"We accept your offer, however, in return, you are to visit our ship."

  "Deal."

They soon made their way to the landing site and awaited as the VTOL craft descended down. After a short moment of hesitation from the Eurasians, they soon got aboard the craft.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Soon after, the craft landed back in the Nova and again, almost instinctively, the NADUR crew members gave sick looks at the Eurasians.

"Eleanor Turner, captain of the Nova and commander of the unit. Nice to meet old allies."

"Petrov Andrestov, recon group leader. Nice to meet you too"

"Would you like a tour of our ship?"

  "Oh, yes please."

"Then, please, follow me. What you can see now, the room we are in is Hangar 1. It serves as deployment and storage zones for our Challenger tanks and FOPBA's. Please excuse the eyes of our crew members, we really didn't expect that Eurasians would show up in this kind of place."

"What do you mean? Eurasia was all and well against those T'vars. In fact, in Kamchatka, we've managed to bring down 3 harbingers in total! However, we are still slowly being pushed back. But hey, at least we are starting to fight back."

Shocked were the members of the unit.

"What? But it was stated by the government back 2081 that Eurasia had fallen."

"That's false! Yes, we were almost destroyed in the early years of the war, however, we never came close to collapsing. Let me tell you just how wrong your government was."

  April 5, 2076

It was the late evening, and everyone was headed to sleep. However, as I was to join them, an alarm rang like crazy! Everyone had shot awake. Me and my comrades were stationed in the Rostov-on-Don Military and Research Facility. We grabbed our rifles and headed out of the barracks only to see this massive robotic creature which screamed a deafening sound, forcing us to duck for cover and shield our ears.

Unlike in your military bases, command was quick to issue an evacuation order to create a frontline against these things. We hopped on High-Speed Rail and got out of the area as fast as possible. In the cabins, we saw the news. Throughout the world, these things were popping out of nowhere and destroying military facilities. However, we were surprised as to how the IOA had the tech too.

Nevertheless, we were in the defense lines in no time and were quick to be ordered into defense positions. My comrades and I in particular were given back the Volks that we managed to bring with us for defense. We were positioned well using the terrain and when the time came, in the distance, we saw a monstrously huge robotic something.

"It is a monster!", one of our comrades shouted, in Russian of course, and for some reason, the name just stuck. As the beast creeped closer and closer to us, we gripped the triggers of our cannons and when the time came, "Fire!", ordered our commander. Seemingly however, it didn't even get a scratch and after the first volley, the inexperienced soldiers quickly deserted. First it was one man, then two, then suddenly 10.

However, those that had experienced fighting before in Poland, the Middle East and whatnot stayed and kept on firing at the beast. Suddenly, the sky lit up, and high screeches could be heard throughout the trenches as command ordered to absolutely bombard the enemy without hesitation. With that, Eurasia had secured the first kill on those beings in the world.

Now, 10 years later, here we are, still alive, still standing. While we heard the IOA, Neo-Oceania and CSA lose ground, we defended well. Sure, we loss quite a bit of territory, lives, funds and other stuff, but hey, that's better than being gone.

Shocked was the NADUR unit, they could not believe that Eurasia had never fallen but actually stood the strongest out of the powers of the world. In fact, some of them even teared up upon hearing the story.

"Now, may we resume in that tour?"

However, the alarms on the Nova rang in an aggressive rhythm.

"I'm sorry, I don't think we can continue the tour, it seems that a harbinger has caught its sights on us.", Eleanor replied.

  "I'm sorry a what?"

"It's the thing you call T'var.", a crew member replied.

"What kind of name even is that?', he thought.

  "Please, excuse me.", she added.

She then ran to the bridge.

  "What's with the radar?"

"Harbinger, heading to our location at 80Kmph!"

"What? That's crazy!", but she didn't mishear it, the harbinger really was moving that fast.

"Looks like were in a tough situation. Status:R, lower the bridge, bring our Eurasian guests into the safe room."

"All crew members, proceed to battle stations. Calling Suzina Rinmann to Hangar 3, prepare for takeoff."

  In Hangar 3...

"Rinmann, you don't have the element of surprise this time, so take it easy."

  "Understood, Sir Franks."

  "Break a leg, soldier."

"Transferring launch controls to the Aegis.", said the voice on the radio."

  "Suzina Rinmann, Aegis, launch!"
