Beyond my new stats, passives, skills, and spells, this is one of the biggest changes to my status screen after reaching level 10: My main class now has extra, definitive abilities related to it and my sub classes have effects and aren't just there to list out the skills I got from them.

My skills still exist, but they're in their own section of my system.

Unfortunately, none of these sub classes existed in Firelight Chronicles– since the game was combat oriented. – so I'm not sure what any of them do. If I want more, in depth information on them I'd have to ask an expert in that specific class but even just reading allows me to understand at least the basic implications of these things.

[+Clothing Durability], [+Wooden Items Durability], and [+Construction Tools Durability] are self explanatory and makes it so that the things they listed are tougher. As seen in the [Juggernaut] sub class in the game, which increases armor durability and gives the player more Physicality when wearing a full set of heavy armor.

[+Urban Navigation] is vague but it most likely makes it easier for me to move through villages, towns, and cities so I guess that would be useful. It probably also has other effects, like making it easier for me to move in urban settings.

Should I try parkour? Nah. That sounds stupid.

[+Palette] and [+Scent] confused me for a moment, does it mean that my tongue and nose are incredibly sensitive now?

I worried for a moment and decided to sniff the air... Nothing much seemed to change and I can't tell the difference. Thank god. I thought I'd have to constantly suffer through headache inducing scents and tastes. Whatever the effects are, it's related to cooking.

There's probably a sub class or even a class out there that does that. I don't ever want to go through that even if I like the thought of licking the air and knowing the direction of something like I'm some kind of snake.

Having stronger senses is just too much of a hassle in my day-to-day life for it to be worth it, simply put.

Besides my classes, there's also the thing that I've been waiting for: Passives.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

The ones I currently got are these things:

  Passives:

  *Minor Poison Resistance

  *Minor Magical Sense

  *Minor Physical Resistance

  *Intermediate Physical Recovery

  *Intermediate Mental Resistance

  Which yeah, aren't much.

But they're the ones that I got starting out and honestly, they aren't even that bad. Having [Minor Magical Sense] means that I don't have to work hard to get it in the future and I suspect my main class gave it to me.

[Intermediate Physical Recovery] on the other hand is a god send. Or light send since that's the god in this place... the point is! In the game that passive allows the player to not just resist physical harm, but also recover their stamina quicker and I suspect the same goes in this world too!

With it, it'll be hard for me to get tired and I can spend all day making traps and still not be exhausted. Guess all the labor I did while studying under the church as an acolyte finally paid off!

The only other outlier in my passives would be [Intermediate Mental Resistance] which I think I got from the church too? I really, really refused to listen to their indoctrination back then since I knew it was all bullshit.

Who thinks that a light house is a god anyway? Insane people. Definitely.

That or I got the passive because of my reincarnation, which I don't like the implications of. But that's besides the point.

  And lastly, my stats.

  Name: Rontress Owelline.

  Level: 10

  Stats:

  MAGIC: 30

  PHYS: 13

  DEX: 21

  RES: 18

Back then I only had [Physical Affinity] and [Magical Affinity] but those got upgraded into these four after reaching level 10.

Some of my stats are bloated, mostly because of the benefits I got from my sub classes and main class but they aren't that good, in fact they are around the level teenagers will normally have.

If I want to be considered "strong" then I need these stats to be bloated with numbers.

Adventurers, for example, are required to start out with at least 2 stats in 100 and to rank up, they need to add a hundred more points to those stats. For example, a low rank adventurer would have 100 in either Phys or Dex, while someone higher than them would have 200.

The strongest ones have around a thousand or so.

I'm not sure how each stat got translated into this world but back in the game, Physicality covers all aspects of the body— toughness, stamina, strength, things like that.

I assume that Dexterity probably wouldn't just make my hits efficient but also make my hands more deft, my reflexes quicker, and my eyesight better. I'm pretty sure thinking faster is covered under this stat as well.

Magic is self explanatory, it's magical ability.

Meanwhile Resistance is essentially just the body's way of tanking curses and offensive magic. I guess it also helps with diseases? I'm not really sure. In the game Resistance only protected the player against enemy magic, it might work differently in this world.

"And that's basically all the changes... It's more or less all the same. Neat." I closed my system and nodded in self satisfaction. The only thing that I didn't check as a refresher are my skills since other than knowing I'll get a skill even without a sub class there's nothing much to it.

Well I guess that's another thing I should have reminded myself with: Gaining sub classes is now harder while gaining skills is much easier.

Not that getting the three sub classes that I have had been easy to begin with but still! All I had to do to get them in the past is repeat stuff over and over again.

I need to fulfill requirements to get sub classes now, most of them only need me to be "experienced" at a specific thing to get that class but doing that will only get me the lesser versions of those sub classes, which isn't ideal. Upgrading common versions of sub classes is optimal but why bother doing that when you can upgrade stronger and better sub classes?

Then again, I am a fresh level 10 so I'll force myself to use a common sub class since now would be the perfect time for me to get the class [Hedge Mage].

It's a starter class, but one that I will use to expand my magic and get better classes in the future. I'll also be able to use minor spells if I have it and my [Minor Magical Sense] would get a substantial boost after I get it.

Now, how does one get it? Well the requirement in the game is to use a magical scroll so I'll have to buy one of those. I don't have the money right now but I'm confident I'll be able to buy one for cheap from an adventurer.

"Cheap" is relative of course and I still need to earn a lot of money before I even come close to reaching my goal. How do I do that? By selling food in the next town over of course!

Ghorise has a lot of visitors this time of year thanks to the Day of Piling coming near and most of them are adventurers. Low ranking ones sure but they have money and so can be my customers.

Going down stairs, I put on my slippers– last on the staircase, as always. – and ran to my mother. "I want to go to Ghorise."

"Sure, just bring someone to protect you and be back before sundown." Huh, she agreed easily? I thought she'd be against it.

"I also want to grab the aberrant meat we have on storage."

"They're yours so take them." My mother paused, she turned to me, realization dawning in her eyes. "You bought that pot, are you planning on selling food there?"

Seriously? She guessed it that quickly? I thought she wasn't putting thought into our conversation and was just manually replying but apparently not?

"Yeah?" My admittance caused her to raise an eyebrow. "I wanna earn money to buy something."

"Well, whatever it is, it better not be so expensive that you'd go into debt. You're gonna have to pay for that on your own."

"Don't worry, I'll make sure I won't go into debt." How does that even happen anyway? I would never willingly buy something that I can't afford, that's just stupid. "And thanks, I guess? But I gave the aberrant meat to you though so you own them."

"They're still yours. You hunted them, didn't you? That's like me saying I own the fish your dad gives me." She shook her head, voice amused. "Now go fix the table, your dad and brother are about to come home."

"Got it." This was how my morning usually went, I wake up and clean the tables and then work. It's been like this ever since I could walk, back then my work happened in the church and now it's things related to my class.

When I finished preparing the table, a thought came over me. "Wait, only dad gives you his catch?"

"Yes. Your brother sells his, he needs to save up for his future family don't you think?" My mom's reply was casual while I am reeling from the shock. "You need to do that, too."

Hm? So Howaph likes someone? I wonder if I can use it against him... It's my right as his little sister! But going back to what mom said, I can't help but scowl just from thinking about it.

"I'm still way too young." I scoffed and sat down. My mom only chuckled.
