Magic Noises!
Instead, it seems I hit a wall dead on with the tip of the blade. A wall that is sturdier than the strongest metals known to mankind. Harder than the hardened scales of a Dragon. Sturdier than the most durable barriers. Anything that you can imagine as my Tempest spell did absolutely nothing to him... Well, not really, while I didn’t directly stab or pierced him per say, I still hit him. More so something akin to a barrier, one that surrounds his entire body and the very reason for why each time I “hit” him with my sword that loud acute sound would follow. However, the force and momentum from my attack was not stopped by the barrier, nor the impact, meaning that he was basically hit by a dull blade, one that broke all of the bones on his spine, smashing him towards the ground where he stands, creating quite the spectacle with it. This time around thanks to the force behind my strike, my sword didn’t bounce back like before but instead “pushed” him towards the ground with such violence behind that allowed this to happen.
Bam! Woosh!
Yep, quite the loud a visible “Bam” follows the initial impact, forcing the Cerberus to be violently smashed towards the ground he stands on, creating a massive crater thanks to the incredible force behind my Tempest spell. If everything went as planned, I would have gone through his body with ease and to make it a much more gruesome scene, the “wind aura” that surrounds the blade would have been “left behind” where I struck, creating a rather small but incredibly powerful explosion afterwards. This explosion is basically the “winds” being thrown out of balance with such force that they are sent towards all directions, cutting anything and everything that comes in contact with them, all thanks to a shock wave that is created once they are out of balance, the very culprit for the massacre that will follow next. If for some miracle, the “winds” happen to miss you as you might not be the one that got directly hit, the shock wave will definitely reach you, consequently hit you in the process as not only it has a shape of a ball, slicing through anything on its path. However, while the shock wave is capable of doing tremendous amounts of damage, the blast radius of this event is a miserly 5 meters. A distance that would seal the fate of this battle as it would’ve sliced the entire middle part of Cerberus body but, given these circumstances, it seems it won’t be happening.
“Argh, you’ve got to be kidding me…”
My tone of voice is one filled with annoyance and the look on my face does match it. Seriously, thanks to this magnificent and totally predictable situation, I’m currently in a position that I was not expecting nor one that I want to be. Thankfully Cerberus is “stuck” to the ground thanks to my Tempest spell; however, I’m currently standing on top of him, baffled at what just happened and of course doubting my own strength. I mean, I think I used strength in S+ rank but maybe I didn’t? Impossible, I’m still perfectly sane to how much strength I use. It’s that barrier thingy he has, that’s the reason for all of this. Though, I think I was able to hear a few “crack” noises as I was “stabbing” him and from the violent impact I will guess that I did some type of damage- Ah, I should get off the top of him as he seems to be this close to do something.
Fire noises!
Yep, I was right as he’s sending fire through all of his mouth in random directions, desperately trying to hit me. Since we are a few ways from missy, I don’t have to worry about her getting hit by his rampage. Though the same can be said about me as I'm currently mid-air, the moment that I noticed that he was about to do something was the moment I jumped out of his back. While doing so I noticed that he seems to be desperately using the spell Flamethrower at roughly A rank strength. Quite a step down from all of his previous spells but, can you really judge him? He just got his spine smashed into several small bones thanks to what I did so, he must be in pain that I can only imagine and the fact that he can still move is actually unbelieve as I doubt I could do it if I was in his shoes. I can easily understand his rampage as he tries to murder, kill, and destroy the “fly” that caused such unbearable pain although he seems to be moving a little too much for this occasion… Actually, can you even move with your spine broken?
GROAR!
No seriously, he’s already standing up!
“Hahaha!”
And why am I laughing now? Especially like a maniac would. If someone saw me do this, they would quickly think that I have lost my mind and I wouldn’t blame them however, the truth is the complete and utterly opposite. After seeing this, after seeing him struggle desperately but actually be able to get back up on his feet, it makes me…
Hyped for the battle.
“This is starting to get interesting! Are you truly immune to slashing and stabbing? I should do a few more tests before reaching this conclusion…”
Ah, I’m sounding just like a villain would as he tells the Hero and his party that the power he has shown until now is nothing more than a mere fraction of the totality of his tremendous strength. I’m not exaggerating though, I do have quite the smile on my face as I say this, as I loudly respond back to the growls of Cerberus. Though, how couldn’t you be excited? If my theory is right and he’s surrounded by a barrier that protects him against slashing, stabbing and most probably magic, then it means that I actually have to use my head as simply overpowering him won’t work at all. Maybe if I used SS rank strength, I could do something to him. However, as I briefly and indirectly mentioned, I doubt that my surroundings would handle such strength and since I’m not alone, I don’t want to put her in unnecessary danger. But, enough of my usual yapping, time to do some tests.
“See if you can handle this! Inferno Strike!”
Step! Lightning noises!
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
With a simple Electro spell, Lightning Dash, I close the distance between us in the blink of an eye, far faster than what he was expecting. However, right as I got ready to dash, it was the moment that his middle head started to prepare a magic spell. It's more than evident that he wanted to hit me as I dashed towards him but I simply was far too quick for him. I on the other hand, I was expecting this to happen and that’s exactly why I first prepared my strike before dashing. If I did so after the dash, it would give him some time to react to my upcoming attack but since I didn’t do so, this allowed me or it would allow me to hit him without him being able to do anything about it.
A simple horizontal swing from left to right, where I strike the neck of the middle head. In a normal circumstance I would’ve sliced through his neck with ease but in this case, I instead hit him, forcefully and violently sending his neck a meter or so to the side. However, his neck movement it’s not normal at all as it seems to be quite “flaccid”. It’s basically something akin to what a broken neck would do as it moved far too much after I stroke it with the blazing blade of my sword. Just like it happened before, the moment that I hit him, an acute sound followed the initial impact but thanks to the flames that are consuming the blame I was just about to hear it (they are that loud) instead of having the sound ringing on my ear for a few moments, then a “bam” sound follows up as the blade was not able to slice anything, blunting hitting the “neck” of the beast.
Roar! Bite!
Opah, that was a close one and it seems what happens to one of his heads does not affect the others at all, as they were able to quickly react to the atrocity that I committed to their fellow head. Huh, the more you know, I guess? Even though I basically broke the neck of one of them, his right head (seeing it from his perspective not mine as it would be the left instead) was still more than able to try to bite me in half. A much more gruesome scene in the case he succeeded as I do believe he could easily tear my body in half but in this case, he seemed to use Shadow Bite for such or in other terms, if for some reason he couldn’t do it now, he can. I dodge it quite easily as I was able to see it coming from a kilometre away however, I won’t let him come unscaled as I will be taking my precious revenge! Yes, indeed!
“If blazing hot flames can’t seal the deal then! Swordfish Strike!”
I understand. The name is not the best but! I have no fault in such!
Moving on from that awful name. I dodge his early bite by short dashing towards him, since I saw it coming, I was able to do such dash, positioning myself in a way that allows me to strike the head that just tried to bite me, right where it would be the collar bone but just a little bit above that and to the side even as otherwise, I would have to use a different swing. This time it was a simple down swing, I first gained a little of height, followed up with me raising my arms upwards as much as I could and then “bam!”, with a Hydro spell powering up my down swing I hit him roughly in the area that I just mentioned and the same happens as before. Somewhat… The previous spell the blade of my sword had flames whose temperatures scraped the realm of 2000 degrees but this one however, the complete opposite happens. The blade of my Paladin White Sword was drowned in water, one whose temperature is nothing more than a normal day in the spring, with temperatures close to 20 degrees. It wasn’t also consumed by winds that can cut through anything that comes in contact either, it really was a simple swing that happens to be wet but it was vastly powered up with magic. The moment I hit the side of the neck dead on, the same and regular acute sound follows it, even with the blade wet it seems that same happens. Thanks to the sheer force behind said impact, you can guess that his head was thrown towards the ground with such violence that it actually smashed the ground itself, creating a crater the size of his face, somewhat destabilizing his entire body this time around. With this I should have smashed his skull into small pieces killing him in the process and yet, the middle head is up again, shaking the confusion from my previous deadly strike. This means that either I actually didn’t break his neck or somehow, he has recovered already. Is that even possible? In the spam of a few seconds, he was able to recover from a deadly injury. How many healing spells out there can even achieve this? I’m missing something…
“Do I have to defeat all of his heads at once? Otherwise, will he keep going?”
Ups, it seems my surprise forced me to let this out into the world. However, if that truly is the case then, I have to use a strike powerful enough to defeat all of the heads at once and to be honest, I do have such a strike in my arsenal, one that I’ve been eager to use ever since I’ve seen her use. Though for now, I will have to focus on defence and all of that jazz as this thing, is not happy at all after being forced to receive my love.
GROAR!
See?
Even with one of his heads basically swinging around with no will whatsoever as it seems to be unconscious, the other two do not care about it at all, ruthlessly attacking me left and right, up and down. He’s not fast at all in fact, he seems to be a little slower than normal so maybe I’m actually doing damage to him? Or maybe it’s the fact that one of his heads is out of consciousness? Maybe it affects how his body works? Is there a main head that controls the body and I happen to miss said head? I mean, from my strikes I’m only missing one head… Rather than being only one head that controls everything, maybe all three have some sort of combined control and since one is down, it’s causing some sort of problems as they have to work more than normal, making it move slower than normal? Actually, why the hell am I thinking about this as I dodge his barrage of attacks? Even if he’s slower than normal, I cannot say the same about the power behind each swing, not only that, he’s powering them up with magic. It’s always the same spell (Metal Claws) over and over, but, if those hit me, I will be precisely and most probably also cleanly cut in three. Now that’s something that we don’t want to happen to me, now, is it? That’s why I’m currently in front of him, right in front of the middle head to be more precise, all while taking a stance and of course, with a big smile on my face as I’m getting far too excited about what's about to happen.
“While I haven’t heard or even seen the Setsuna dance, the other one however, I do know quite well.”
I say this with a confident look on my face, with my blue eyes staring right at Cerberus and with my body ready to unleash something akin to a bird being rebirthed. I’m exaggerating, somewhat that is. If I really do unleash something like that, nothing would be left behind and I mean it. Everything in this chaotic and secluded world would’ve been annihilated. And yes, this includes the beast right in front of me, the grand library above us and unfortunately, Miss Pink Orb would also suffer the same fate as without beyond a doubt, the barrier that I surrounded her with wouldn’t be able to protect her at all. Anyway, I’m yapping yet again but while I did so, I’m now more than in perfect position to end this once and for all and even though all of his heads are aiming towards me with a magic spell ready to be unleashed, it will all be for naught as I will end his miserable life before he’s able to do anything.
