8 years later

  Alarm at 6:00 am buzzing.

  “Ummmm….. what time it is “ a deep and sleepy husky voice ,hand stretches from bed to the table and turns the alarm off and sees the time .

  I did some exercise for an hour and went for a shower. After the shower I put it on a navy blue shirt with off white pants and white sneakers with specs

  Taking books and putting them in the bag Going downstairs for breakfast .

  “Kelix you are always on time but see eve doesn’t even wake up she has to go to school at 8 :30 go and get her please or again she misses her school today”.

  Okay mom don’t worry I get her. Knock knock “eve………..eve …”

  I pretended the doorknob wasn’t locked properly.

  “Mom, give me a thin sheet! I’ll slide it through the gap and it’ll open in a second!” I shouted loudly—loud enough for her to hear.

  Then I quickly moved to the side of the door, pressing myself flat against the wall. I made a few fake footsteps,

  as if I had walked away.

  Silence.

  A second later, I heard it—the faint sound of movement from inside.

  She took the bait.

  The knob slowly turned as she checked whether it was secure.

  That was my moment.

  Before she could react, I dashed forward at full speed and grabbed the knob tightly, jamming it in place so she couldn’t shut the door again.

  “Go get ready for school and breakfast.” “Mom is waiting down there .you have to be responsible .”

  “Seriously, if you are the disciplined one, then let others live how they want, I want to sleep more “

  She’s shorter than me ,she’s almost around my shoulder but not perfectly.I take her and put on my shoulder and take her downstairs she’s shouting

  I put her on the chair around the dining table

  “Mom what the hell, I am not a kid. I am in high school now , and he treated me like a kid”.

  “ Because you are a wild cat and yes you have grown up but just a little bit of height and more stubbornness”

  “It’s your first day of college, please focus on that “

  “You don’t have to worry about me, take care of yourself because mom is angry and best of luck for that”.

  “No.. nononono…..brother please help me I promise I do as you say ,I can’t handle mom “.

  “Well I don’t help wild cats”

  “Yes definitely I behave like a very good domestic cat I promise” .

  “What you two are discussing” , mom asking and Eve and I again making excuses.

  “It’s okay mom, actually her alarm clock isn’t working so, I checked it by myself”.

  “I believe what you are saying but Eve careful next time if you do that again I will show who your mom is”.

  “Ohh my mommy I know who you are I will be careful next time I love you ,well I am hungry please give me the breakfast” she cut the hug and got back to the chair .

  And while mom was preparing the food ,she gave me a tight hug.

  “Brother you are so awesome I like you a lot you are the best brother “

  “Welcome wild cat now get your fur away from me”.

  We finished our breakfast with a lot of laughter ,and I went to college taking my bag and with my mask on my mouth and a cap. I always wear a mask. It helps me to stay calm . As the much less attention I get in the childhood the moe I get it now .

  It’s a half hour route between my college and my home. My classes are from 10 am and it’s 9 am. I'll reach at 9:30 .

  And I enter the college and head towards my class and sit at the middle bench in the side row

  The professor walked in and placed his books on the desk.

  “Good morning, students. Welcome. I appreciate all your hard work that brought you here. This is the best college in our city, and we give admission based purely on knowledge. You all earned your place here.”

  He paused and smiled.

  “Before we begin our lecture, let’s start with introductions. Tell us your name and what you want to become.”

  One by one, the students stood up and introduced themselves. The room was filled with nervous voices and small laughter.

  Then it was my turn.

  I stood up slowly.

  “I am Kelix storm ” I said calmly, “and I want to become a cop.”

  The room fell slightly silent.

  A few students turned to look at me with strange expressions. Maybe it was because of my mask and cap. Whispers started spreading across the classroom.

  But I didn’t care.

  The professor adjusted his glasses and looked at me carefully.

  “Any specific reason for choosing that goal?”

  “Yes,” I replied firmly. “It’s my father’s dream… and mine too. He always says, ‘If you can do something to protect others, then do it.’”

  For a moment, the classroom became quiet again.

  The professor nodded with a faint smile.

  “That’s a noble goal. I hope you become an excellent officer and protect many lives.”

  I gave a small nod and sat down.

  The introductions continued until the session finally ended.

  “Now we began our lecture “

  The lectures ended and after that everyone talked about hanging out to make friends and there’s a boy who is cool and asked me to join. I first refused and he insisted and I agreed .

  It’s 2 pm today and we are going to a hill station. There is a famous hotel which is also expensive. I don’t like it but mom and eve go for shopping and I think that it's a good idea to kill the time .

  We reached at our destination and the hotel is palatial ,we sit on our booked table and I was looking it’s beauty and I get a call it’s mom

  “Hello mom, how's your shopping going “.

  Shopping is done and we are waiting for you. Eve is so excited to listen. about your college, that’s why she insisted and we finished our shopping .“

  “Sorry, Mom. I really didn’t expect you to come home this early. I just thought you two were still out, so I went to hang out with my friend.

  “Ohh it’s okay dear you enjoy it, we will wait”.

  “Okay mom I will be at home till dinner”

  “But why when you are with your friends you are not going to eat anything .“

  “I will but I left space for your food also because you are a better cook than a chef for me.”

  Mom chuckled.

  “ My lovely son, I'll wait and make your favourite food too”.

  “Okay bye mom “
