CHAPTER 2

  VECARUS

  Date: 10.01.2173

  Adam Kowalski

  Breslau Ruins

The road was filled with abandoned cars and corpses. The lands were scorched, with some radiation lasting for years. Nukes were used yearly, with factions and nations fighting each other since the Los Angeles massacre that started World War 3.

"Sweet home Breslau..." said Susan, recalling memories of when she was living underground while her family was still alive in Breslau.

"The city has gone downhill since the Nazis took over. Why are people still fighting each other..." said Adam, keeping a lookout for any German patrols.

"It reminds me of when I was fighting in Russia, the land so destroyed. But even Russia is now split into the Russian Empire and the Black League. No surprise, the son of the monarch never came back..." said Hank, with a slight Russian accent, though he still maintained his fake American one.

"Let's stop to fill up on gas, shall we?..." said Adam, avoiding ghouls on the road.

"Sure, let's stop. I see a gas station nearby..." said Susan, looking at the laggy GPS.

Adam stops at a nearby gas station, and as we get out, we notice something moving in the bushes.

"Guys, get the rifles ready..." says Adam, preparing his rifle.

Then four ghouls emerge from the bushes. We start shooting at them, but one lunges at Susan and bites her, taking some flesh from her arm.

"Guys, help! I'm bleeding a lot..." Susan says with the little energy she has left.

"Hank, get the fuel! We're going to the car now!" says Adam, helping Susan to the car.

Hank runs to the gas station, grabs a canister, fills it with fuel, and rushes to the car. He fills the car with fuel, joins us inside, and we drive away.
