Franco found himself floating in what he knew to be a dream space; he must have fallen asleep after the Goblin healer had fixed his shattered ankle and back as best it could. A blue light filled the area he was in. He didn't see or feel his body and knew it wasn't here, but he had been here before and with that thought the blue light coalesced into a pillar. A basalt column stood in front of him, its blackness pulled at the defused light around them. A world unto itself as it stretched upwards and downwards as far as Franco could see. It was laced with clear and golden crystals throughout it. Their veins thick at times while at other spots they were just specks against the black rock. That blue light filled the crystals and moved throughout them in a chaotic wave, always moving. He reached out with his essence in this place, knowing but not knowing how to act here and touched the basalt column. Golden letters appeared before him. He had leveled up again, he knew he would after what they had just been through but four levels in two weeks was unheard of.

Franco took in the golden words and it was shocking. Like his mind was opening locked doors he remembered now that he had two titles before he had lost his memories. Son of Abigail and Adventurer.
For a Level 5 that had done adventuring since level 1, which he hadn't. It would be amazing, for everyone else it was unheard of. Now he had five. The memories of knowledge once known and then relearned in the same moment sent his mind spinning for what felt like minutes. A Title was a combination of an Enhancement, an Ability and a Skill. Sometimes all three and sometimes just a mix of two. They never explained exactly what they did but Franco had a sense now that I have Walked the Dark Halls was some mix of Skill and Enhancement improving all future explorations or time spent in dark underground or lost places. He would see better, survive better, know how to travel or unlock them. Not direct knowledge he sensed but more that he would know a lock would need a password, not what that password was.
Greater than thee has Tempted Me. Was very clear to him, he would more easily resist any mental, soul or magical means of compulsion, manipulation or trickery. He looked at what attributes both Titles improved and the Demon had been right, his Fate had greatly increased which worried him. Fate as his past knowledge told him was not something any sane person wanted. It was the thing of stories, so children and young boys often wished for great Fate but it was what had happened at the Temple. It makes you more likely to get involved in politics. To be asked to right some ancient wrong. To be the one to fulfill some old prophecy that got half your friends killed in the doing and now of course his Fate had doubled and Franco felt his life was on a course that would lead him to places he did not want to go. He was done looking at the Titles and the basalt column knew that, so new golden words appeared in front of him.

At level 9 In the Way of Might one of two Ways you could choose from at level 1, you got to choose an Enhancement and like Abilities and Skills you were given choices and his were:
Fated
Lucky
Lesser Dexterity
He looked at the three and thought the God that over saw this world was curl in their humor at times. All three were amazing choices, he knew that, and all three were represented by actions in the past that led him here. He had enough Fate and more than he wanted, he also knew that Fate always begat more Fate so he knew he would see it forced on him again.
Now Lucky and Lesser Dexterity. If Franco had only been faster he could have saved Sarah but it would have taken 30 levels and much more than Lesser Dexterity to stop that Demon from killing Sarah. Now Lucky might mean he wins a little more than he loses or that an unseen monster sneezes at the wrong time near him but it would not have saved Sarah. He chose Lesser Dexterity and quickly scanned over his Status before willing himself out of this place.
