Chapter A45: Agile Eye

  The Children’s Game

The two children, one with brown hair named Quen-alla, the other with black coiled hair similar to the woman named Tigeralla, created the sandy mist, which blocked the view. Yet despite the heavy mist, I could faintly make out the three figures standing across the field. One was Coven, the other being Aureolo, and lastly, the native of this land, Tigeralla.

There was something about that woman that made my eyes draw toward her.

I waited until the dust settled a bit before I made my move.

Taking Aureolo down would be too easy.

  I trained him.

I knew the frequency of his heartbeat.

I was familiar with his style.

Coven, on the other hand, was a tricky man. Had tricks up his sleeves. He was one of the few members of the GOU who had taken me down during sparring.

I moved steadily, swiftly, and soundlessly towards the obscured figures.

My steps came to a halt as I noticed Coven and Aureolo squabbling in the distance, blurred by the mist.

I should let them defeat each other before making a move.

Luckily for me, Coven engaged with Aureolo. And he took Aureolo out.

Now it was my turn. I made my way to Coven.

My feet were light against the floor as I inched closer to Coven. He remained unaware of my presence—

“Got you,” he whispered, turning around and throwing the dark-colored sand in my way.

I lowered myself, dodging his attack. The sand rained down before my eyes. I swung my left leg, kicking him down.

  Thud.

Swiftly, I grabbed a handful of the sand and leaned closer to his lying form, staring down at him.

“Are you really going to do it?”

he asked, staring up at me.

  “Of course.”

I gingerly pressed the sand against his forehead, covered by the mask.

  And he was out.

It was just Tigeralla and me who remained within this children’s game.
