“But it truly will be a serious phenomenon, if— no when, the worlds ends…. it’ll be fireworks.” Teysu itched his collar, he was sitting in a chair, head facing down; outside in the desolate wasteland of Invalia stood three wooden pale chairs, containing three individuals who were conversing. Behind them was a large barrier, it was impenetrable; broad and thick but behind even that was small Civilization— even behind that was the actual castle of Invalia.
Housing the God of Monsters.
“Clearly you haven’t read any of the ‘Loraq’. The ‘Loraq’ states, ‘The worlds will cease with a whimper and no scream, no shout and no visibility.” An individual was holding a thick grey book. A holy book.
Avarie spoke: he had extremely cream skin, a full white beard on his chin as his jawbones were perfect. His blonde hair was flowing, erupting like flames as his cinnamon eyes dilated as he stared at Avarie— sitting in his chair in a reclined position as he sipped a cup of coffee which lied on a coaster on his lap. Avarie was dressed in a jewels, no clothes— pure gold necklaces, platinum signet rings, silver grills and emerald ankle bracelets as his crotch was covered with a pink speedo. His wrinkled skin smiled as he turned to Cerberus beside him.
“You must be free with the world.” He spoke, “Or the world won’t be free with you.”
“You are always speaking with such elegance.” The hound sat a like human, free from masquerading, “Avarie.”
“Enough with the dicksuck.” Teysu muttered under his breath, he faced upward at the sky— it was… it was blue, pitch blue as usual. The clouds floated across as yellow tweeting birds tweeted and did as they typically do. The yellow sun waved at the people— before kissing the sand and making it glow.
“Hey.” Avarie nodded his head at Teysu, smiling, “Can you tell me what day it is today.”
Teysu stared at the sun, “It’s Saturday the 17th of October.”
“It’s funny how we still use the old world’s rhetoric for time.” Avarie grinned.
“Yeah it is actually, I wonder why.” Cerberus whimpered.
“Sad since you guys won’t actually ever find out why.”
“Pardon?”
“I lied—”
“Avarie isn’t a real person.”
Crinkle.Crinkle.
Crinkle.
Crinkle.Crinkle.
Crinkle.
Avarie got up from his seat— it was frozen over, his face looked at the ground— it was frozen over. The desert stopped flowing— it was frozen over.
“Just stay like that you understand?” Avarie kissed the rings on his left hand as he turned toward Teysu and Cerberus.
They were frozen over.
“Hey.” Avarie stared at us— he grabbed us with his right hand….
He grabbed us?
SNAP.
“Hey. Follow my perspective for now— you’re gonna wanna see what happens.” The man was grinning.
His teeth were uneven, he clearly needed braces— his eyes were shut however, he smiled like a lunatic.
“Stop talking about me like that.” Avarie’s face dropped— his eyes flaming. “It’s rude.” He shook his left hand. Before flicking it behind him.
Only being able to see his back as we followed him like a dog on a leash.
He sighed, as he began to skate on the ice— a ballerina, his skill were talented. He performed tricks whilst gliding on the frost, his face— unable to be viewed but it was clear he enjoyed it.
Otherwise why would he do this?
“I’m doing this because the Lord told me to.” He replied, “I’ve been given this task for the five years right now and I’ve done it well. See how those idiots believed every word I said— lucky I ain’t kill them yet, gotta do something worse.” He flung his left hand at the frozen sculptures of Teysu and Cerberus before chuckling to himself.
In due time he reached the barrier, he laid his right hand on it and it froze over instantly. There was no need to build suspense for the inevitable.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Perhaps he snapped? He realised what he was doing was wrong?
“No.” He punched a hole through the wall— walking inside, looking inside.
There were several dirt huts within this small compact area, approximately thirty. Containing families and livelihood, the flooring was sandy but there was a clear attempt to try clear it— seen with the minor visibilities of concrete around. The sky was still blue of course, the floor was orange and the birds chirped.
Children passed by Avarie, smiling— chanting his name as mothers and fathers smiled at seeing his presence.
There were no major buildings such as halls, or libraries or stores— everything was provided by Samiel of course, the castle a couple metres behind provided all the necessities.
As like Thidos—
“She loves her people too.” Avarie nodded, “You enjoying the view?”. He cracked his knuckles, then his neck— then jumped on the spot.
“I’ll provide you a good viewing of madness.”Madness?
A couple of kids walked up to Avarie, smiling— holding a piece of paper and a pen.
“May— may you please sign it Sir Avarie?” The primary child twiddled with his fingers as the other three stared down at the ground.
“Of course— don’t worry.” Avarie took the piece of paper, “I won’t need the pen.”
“Huh?”
Crinkle.
“You are an idiot.”
“Did you seriously black out the whole time? Or maybe you don’t want to show me kill a couple kids, and grown ups.”
Huh?
The view— the view was tarnished. Blood flowed the floor, gallons— more; corpses lied on the ground. Dozens, dozens. Kids, Mothers, Fathers— there weren’t workers but if there were, they’d be dead too. Kids? On the floor, right there— right in front was the same kid who asked for the signature. His hair was brown before, now tainted with blood all over as his freckled face was flayed and destroyed. The huts, they were burning— lit on fire as mud and flammability matched as a flame.
Matched a flame as the smell of decay thickened in the air— corpses were laid upon each other as if it was a totem pole— some were thrown onto the burnt homes however there wasn’t a single scream or touch of agony.
Since they were all long dead.
The sky was blue however— it’ll always stay blue, no matter what chaos emerges from the ground— however the clouds began to form.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
Rain.
But the rain never touched the ground.
Avarie deliberately made so.
“So I do have ice powers if you are wondering— what a contrast to how I look right.” The killer’s voice was disembodied as he no longer was simply in front of us.
The droplets fell like hail as they frozen over instantly, pelting the corpses and desecrating them.
“I’d say this was approximately every Invalian left that isn’t important— how nice for me to clean up some contradictions right?”
What is he talking about?
Crack.
Crack.Crack.
Bones broke— the bones were already broken, he didn’t destroy the bodies to unrecognition however they were deformed.
Decaying already.
“Look up already.”
Already?
Standing upon one of the burning buildings was Avarie— he was smiling, his face finally revealed again his hair blew— blew— blew. He had a small icicle in his hand, however it was contaminated with leagues of blood on the tip.
“They were so desperate to live— so certain I was Avarie the Second, hah.” The evilest man laughed.
“Want to see the castle.” He turned around, pointing an icicle at the castle not too far away.
“I’ll show you it.”
He dropped down from the burning building.
He then stepped through the smoke as if stepping between pages. The desert vanished. The castle’s shadow replaced it.
CREAAAAAAAAAAAAAK.
“I’ll stop doing that I promise.” Avarie promised, showing a pinkie with his left hand as he opened the door to a throne room. “I did skip showing the actual castle— I’m here to show the main event.”
The room was quiet— pitch black, well not necessarily as a beacon of light was sitting on the throne. Decrepit doors, weathered stone, whilst Samiel sat on a throne of ivory white, its back carved with fantastical beasts— orcs, skeletons, wyverns.
“You said that before— getting lazy are we?”
What?
“Samiel. You must see there’s been a massacre out there!”
“What?” The God’s eyes narrowed.
“I know who killed all of your people.”
“Killed all of my what?”
“It was me! Adolla the Madness! Thidos ordered me to be a spy for Invalia— see what you guys have been up to. I hindered all your progress, did alot of fucked up shit right now like all of your people. I froze Cerberus and Teysu— they can only reanimate once I’m dead but you wouldn’t kill me— it’d cause a bigger war between all the worlds. So what you should do is recognise that you lost and just sulk in that disgusting throne— see how good I’m doing for a first appearance you really going to kill such a lovable guy like me? How evil!”
“What?”
“You don’t understand yet, but as soon as you do— I’ll be outside waiting. How unholy of a God to not kno—”
Spears floated above Adolla’s body— ruby spears. Imp spears.
Then they struck.
One pierced through Adolla’s calf — then another through his thigh, his shoulder, his hand. A dozen points of contact, so fast they seemed to arrive before the sound. He didn’t scream at first. His mouth opened, but no noise came. His eyes were fixed on where Samiel had sat. Then the second wave came. The spears didn’t just pierce — they twisted. Spiralled. Tore. Limbs were wrenched apart like rotting cloth. Flesh peeled away in ribbons that didn’t fall, but hung in the air, suspended by threads of glowing red light. One final spear drove through his skull with the sound of cracking porcelain. His head slumped forward, cleaved and caved on one side. The body that fell wasn’t recognizable as a man. The scythes dissolved into smoke. The badge on his chest fluttered, somehow untouched, and landed in a puddle of blackened blood. The Imp stepped lightly through the ruin, its bare feet making no sound. It stopped beside what remained of Elliot — or rather, what hadn’t yet dissolved. The limbs were gone. The torso, hollowed. The face, split and crumpled. But the badge still lay there, half-soaked in blood.
It reminds me of how— how Elliot died.
Dead?
Dead?
Dead?
OUROBOROS
Samiel floated in her throne— the beasts contained within cried blood.
Blue Blood which leaked across the weathered stone on the floor.
