The sermon finished— the priest of Thidos lifted his arms up, arose the room with instance as the flood gates opened. Tens of people left the hall— as Jeremiah turned to the side, the rebels were gone.
“They are probably waiting outside.” Jeremiah’s hood covered his face, he became to follow the crowd and exit the doors but then he felt a weak tug on his legs.
“Mister.” Baruch whimpered.
Jeremiah turned around and saw the boy’s face— it was sad.
“Mister… are you really leaving so early?”
“Got important things to do.” Jeremiah shrugged— awkwardly.
“You should stay for a bit— Thidos’ Angels are coming down today for the checkup!” Baruch’s eyes lit— flames of hope?
Jeremiah twitched, “Angels?”
Fucking angels, those shitters are stronger than me.
Jeremiah concealed his nerves, itching his chin— stroking the faded hears. “I should be going then.” He forced Baruch’s grip off before darting through the doors.
Jeremiah walked out— it was night time, the sermon took a couple hours but the night sky blossoming was unexpected, unwelcome.
Harder to see, is it worth risking that in order to gaze at the beautiful twinkling. The pitch dark world brightened by elegant stars however at any moment— if someone wills it, that’ll be the last time you see it.
Jeremiah looked up at the sky, he shoved a lollipop in his mouth— puffing on it as if a cigar, “I suppose I’d be going to hell at this rate.” He chuckled.
“I’ll test that theory for you.” A voice emerged from behind.
Jeremiah ripped the lollipop from his mouth, pointing it at Anubis who was behind him— the man carried a Scimitar sword; the bright gleam from the blade reflected Jeremiah’s expression as it inched close to his neck.
His face albeit covered— was visible.
“You see you can’t just act all ominous and expect not to die after.” Anubis grinned, “It’s stupidity.”
“You know that the Angels are arriving later today— by later, I mean any moment. It’d be horrible if they caught me or any of you rebels who are surrounding me.” Jeremiah lifted his head away from the knife— putting his hands in the air.
“I call bluff.” Medusa shrieked, she was standing on top of a lamppost, her stance: arms folded and back facing Jeremiah as she spoke looking at the liquor store in front of her. “Who even are you?”
Jeremiah’s eyes darted around, examining if anyone else was near before sighing. “I’m Jeremiah.”
“Plenty of you in the world, your parents think you so special that they don’t need a last name?” Lucius grumbled, he walked up towards Anubis— stretching his neck around and scoffing.
“Parents didn’t actually like me.” Jeremiah snickered, “You shouldn’t keep that close towards me— I make things explode.”
“If I guess alongside your stupid attitude, you’re that exiled Saint.” Anubis belittled, “You think we’ll let an individual like you come along for the ride?”
“You should speed this up— any moment and we’ll all be dead.” Jeremiah darted into the supermarket.
“Hey!”
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Jeremiah clutched inside— he pointed a lollipop at the cashier who simply shrugged it off, he was positioned inside one of the closer aisles to the door, as he saw the other rebels quickly fade away into the night after he left.
Fuck, I probably won’t join them now— what a drag.
Jeremiah rolled his eyes as he heard a loud sound from above— piercing and bellowing. Trumpets.
A divine aura inseminated from the sky as three silhouettes faded down.
Paris Guildford.
Nyx.
Gloxer.
Great, two people I actually was fond of— and also the one person who isn’t even an angel.
Jeremiah hid away as he peeked from the windows— wide and tall, only visible from the inside though.
“Just a weekly check up on this town…. it smells great? Has someone been cooking.” Paris smirked as his eyes darted to Gloxer and Nyx who batted their eyes and levitated down faster.
“It sucks that Saints regenerate.” Nyx budged Gloxer in the shoulder.
“You still believe in that? It’s a fucking lie dude— I bet you a million ricos that Thidos killed Miles.” Gloxer bit his lip, he ended the sentence gloomy.
“You have a million ricos?”
“Thidos pays way better for the tier you’re in, hey you get more than that bastard up there.” Gloxer chuckled as they both began to laugh at Paris.
“Laughing at me?” Paris pointed at himself, feigning confusion as his eyes sparked. He landed on the ground, staring at the Church.
“It’s a beautiful Church— what are we even doing check ups for again?” Nyx tapped over to Paris, his wobbling causing vibrations throughout the ground.
“Just to see if the towns are doing okay— you know we got one of the better ones, apparently Ilya got Lovanka.” Paris lifted his eyebrows, nodding.
“Lovanka…. isn’t that where Famine used to do his shit?” Gloxer smiled, “It’s gonna smell like cocaine.”
“If it does smell, we don’t know. For legal reasons of course.” Nyx nodded.

“You know we shouldn’t of arrived this early— it’s hard to explain but I’m feeling a certain way.” Paris touched his stomach, “I feel weird.”

“I feel weird.” Paris touched his stomach, “This isn’t natural.” He stood still— his legs thundered into the ground, creating a cavity in the pavement he stood on. His eyes floated to each direction as Gloxer nodded.
“What the fuck was that?” He grumbled, his teeth bit into each other as he began to snap his fingers, “Whoever the fuck is clutching in this town— you better leave.”
Jeremiah was confused— clutched in the supermarket he just viewed an unthinkable. What happened? Why?
He turned to look at the cashier— they were gone, so was the receptionist and everyone else present in the building. There weren’t any customers anyway due to the hour however the employees— they just vanished.
“Nyx. Use it.” Gloxer patted the Vampire’s shoulder.
He smiled— gently before closing his eyes.
In an instant his body collapsed to the ground.Then.
It began to convulse— a spasms on the pavement, his body fidgeting and twitching as he jittered along; no foam from his jaws however his eyes rolled back. But then it stopped.
His twitching silenced.
Silenced.
Silenced.
He then arose, feet never leaving the ground as his body floated up, vampire.
“We’ve gotten enough— leave.” Paris snapped his fingers and the others flew into the sky at the speed of light— untraceable.
Jeremiah waited, for a couple of minutes before scrying out of the building— his thoughts, jambed. There was no point attempting to read anyone’s mind here any more— especially when you can’t do anything to stop it.
He felt the sensation of the figures jolting at him though, he stepped backwards and watched as Anubis, Medusa and Lucius fell to the ground one after the other.
Jeremiah’s gaze— it stared into them, his eyes weren’t visible, but they were.
“Take me to Shota Kanae, I’m done.” His voice— pained as he grisped on his chest.
“Now.”
