Yazmina, who was pying with Koda, finally saw other sorhebi arrive, as everyone had an hour break to recollect themselves for the day and spend time with their Sorhebi, eat, and bathe if need be.
She spshed water on Koda and unched herself at him, she knocked him off his bance and he swatted at her pyfully.
Landon had nded first, he got off his sorhebi named Isabel and went to greet her, “Yazmina, I’m guessing Adam is with Sammy?”.
Yazmina nodded and said, “Yeah they went on a little flying exercise, they are gonna join us soon”. Landon nodded and turned back to his sorhebi, to his surprise Isabel tackled him into the water.
Yazmina ughed and Koda copied Isabel, Landon ughed back at her and tackled Isabel pyfully.
After a few minutes, she let Koda go catch his fish and she sat down to watch him, Landon approached her and said “May I sit with you?”.
Yazmina nodded and asked, “What can I help you with?”. Landon sighed and said, “I was wondering what you have gotten out of the alien? Any key details or giveaways to what country he hails from?”.
She sat back and said, “Well, Sammy has confirmed that he’s harmless and does not have any special powers; he has not been talking, so Sammy is trying to get him more comfortable so we can learn more about where he comes from”.
Landon nodded and his eyes seeming to lock on something in the distance, saying
“Um, isn’t that Yena?”
She looked in the direction he was looking and could see Yena with Adam on her back.
As they got closer, she did not sense any sign of her sister, so once they nded, she ran over there and asked in English, “Adam, where is Sammy?”.
Adam looked traumatized as he was shaking and had a look like he was gonna cry. Adam had clumsily jumped off and said,
“...........something knocked us down from the sky, a rge and lengthy creature. Sammy put me on Yelena and assumed Sammy told her to come here”.
His voice was shaky, and Yasmina knew what he was describing.
There was only one creature that would challenge an Sorhebi.
She looked to Landon and asked him, “Can you send an attack patrol towards Sammy?”. He nodded and called it in on his comms.
She then went up to Yelena and told her to go back to Sammy. Yena took off and headed back in that direction.
She looked back at Adam and sighed. “Let's take you back to the base, as you have a lot of questions ahead of you”.
She whistled to Koda, who was chewing on a fish. He came at her call and helped Adam get on.
She called to Landon and said, “Alright meet with you ter, gonna go get some info and i'll report back”.
Landon nodded and beckoned her to go.
They took off, and Adam clung to her as Koda reached the ideal altitude. Once they got back to base, she put Koda up and led Adam to a room used for questioning. Elvis was retrieved on their way to the room, Adam insisted he come with them.
She had him sit down and asked, “Where do you come from? And why are you here?”. Adam had taken a moment to choose his words carefully.
He said, “I come from a pnet named Earth. One of the leaders of Earth had sent me to ….. sent me here to check if there was life on this pnet”.
She was skeptical but wrote it down. She had brought a notebook to write down notes and keep information.
She asked, “Well if you're smart enough to know that our atmosphere is breathable then how would you not know there was life”.
Adam stopped for a moment and seemed to think.
“I wasn’t informed the air was breathable until I was asked to go. I was just following orders”. Yazmina wrote this down and also asked,
“Who is your leader you mentioned?”.
Adam answered with “We call her the President, she's a person in power that controls a certain Territory on earth. Her name is Annaliese”.
Yazmiana wrote down everything he said, challenging his logic she asked “So you don’t question authority? If you were smart enough to be chosen to go explore another pnet, then you should have figured out that there was life to begin with. Meaning you are either lying about your true objective or your “president” has been lying about important information.”
She was thinking this was just a spy from an enemy country but it wasn’t impossible that he was from a different pnet.
Adam told her more details about how they work as a pnet, he also told her about their traditions. He seemed proud of his pnet, and she kept notes and gave him a break from questioning.
Adam asked her, “Hey, I haven’t eaten in a while, if it wouldn’t be a bother, can I have something to eat?”.
Yazmina said, “Ah, let me call Tom and I'll have him bring something”.She got up and opened the door, she yelled down the hall and said “toooom, get your ass down here”.
The only reason why Tom was not out pying with his sorhebi was because they always left one person behind at the base, usually picked by a random machine, and it was his turn.
She heard a faint “for God’s sake” and then some running down the hall. She recognized his blueish grey face and dark blue curly hair; she could tell he was annoyed by his slit pupils, and his blue fluffy tail whipped around in annoyance.
Once he stopped and breathed in, Yazmina said, “I heard that. Can you go to the fridge and get our friend here some fruit? He is hungry, and it would be great if you could do it”.
Tom rolled his eyes and said, “Sure, sure, let me go get it for you.” He ran back down the hall, and to the right, she could faintly hear “Your Majesty”.
Yazmina chuckled and went back into the room, where Adam was. Elvis stretched out and looked around, he spotted Adam nearby and jumped up to his p, and settled down, making that purring sound.
Once Tom came back he knocked on the door and Yazmina got up to open the door, he said in a “royal pain in the ass” voice
.“Here you go, oh great general, I hope it satisfies thy hunger it would please me so so much”,
He bowed and showed the pte of fruit, Yazmina ughed and said back “Hah yes peasant, thank you for your contribution in this trivial task, you will be greatly rewarded with such respect”.
She also bowed and put her hand on her chest to express her gratitude. She took the pte and looked back at Adam, who had a confused look.
He had no idea what they said, so it was a little expected that he was confused.
She handed him the pte of berries and crackers; they were called wakaton berries, very sweet but pretty nutritious. Adam was hesitant but took a bite, his eyes lit up, and he made an “mmmm” sound.
She watched him devour his food, Tom turned to her and asked “So what's the deal with you and Mr.Landon? I mean he’s so in love with you like-”, Yasmina raised an eyebrow and said, “Landon? really? My boss? no hah you're funny. It’s not possible, we are friends nothing more”.
She did not like talking about it, as Landon was her boss, she would never cross that line, and she didn’t see him like that.
She then tried to change the subject, “Okay then, what about you and Elizebeth, huh? I can see you too are heading to the love boat”.
Tom raised his eyebrow and said, “I see you changing the subject, but Elizabeth asked me out yesterday. Pretty excited, and she is going to take me to the Umasakbe grill”.
As they were talking, Yasmina kept an eye on Adam and watched his moves.
She did not trust him fully yet, as he did show up by himself without Sammy on her sorhebi, so it made her suspicious.
A sudden loud arm went off, the lights went off, and a blue dim light repced the lights.
It signaled code blue; someone was trying to hack into their mainframe.
She told Adam to stay while they dealt with it, Tom nodded his head to her, and they both closed the door and then started to run towards the server room
. They skid across the floor as they tuned into a different hallway and ran full speed down to the red door with “staff members only”.
Once they reached the door, she fumbled with her key card and swiped the card to get in.
There was a rge screen in the middle of multiple screens on the sides for the workers to update stuff in their system.
It was a bluely dimmed room until a message in English fshed on the big screen saying “pre-recorded message”.
Tom’s eyes followed it, but he couldn’t understand it, so he asked: “What does it say?”.
Yazmina said, “Pre-recorded message, meaning someone hacked in to leave us a message”.
Tom got out on his comms, he switched on the channel that broadcast it to all members, speaking into it,
“We have a code Blue, I repeat a code blue. All essential personnel please return to base.”
Yazmina did not want to mess with the video until Landon came. They both waited about 10 minutes before everyone came rushing into the room.
All of the server workers returned to their seats and started to decode where the message came from.
Landon rushed to Tom and asked, “What’s going on? Did they bring anything offline?”.
Tom simply pointed up to the rge screen with the fshing letters “Pre-recorded message.”
Landon looked to Yazmina, who was talking to one of the server workers, telling them everything. She saw Landon’s stare and looked up at the screen.
She said, “Oh, it means pre-recorded message, I’m pretty sure someone left us a message. Do you wanna py the video?”.
Landon nodded and looked at the screen. Yazmina beckoned the worker named Chloe to turn it on.
With a click of a button, the video started to py. A red-haired dy with brown eyes appeared on the screen. She said with a bone-chilling voice,
“Hello, I am Annaliese, one of many leaders on earth. We had sent a shuttle to make peace with y’all, yet what I have heard has been heated. You have captured one of my own and killed off the rest. This makes you a threat and, as such, will be dealt with as one. We will be sending another shuttle in one month to retrieve the one you captured. If they don’t come back, then it will be seen as a decration of war. Again, one more time, I will wage war if that shuttle does not come back.”
Everyone looked to Yazmina, who was speechless, the message was in English and she was the only one in the room who spoke English. She looked to Landon, and before she got to speak, Chloe said,
“I have found the origins of the video, it was sent from a pnet called Earth. It’s not too far from our pnet.”
Yazmina sighed and said, “Her name was Annaliese; she's one of the many leaders from Earth. She somehow found out about how her shuttle was attacked and that we captured Adam. She said she will send another shuttle for Adam, and if it does not come back…..She will wage war on Bishingo”.
There was a deathly silence in the room as everyone processed what she had said. Landon then said with a chilling voice, “Then we must prepare for war.”
People around her gasped, and Landon sighed.
He called one of the personnel in the room and asked, "Please contact Nanatome, we need their aid in this endeavor". They rushed out of the room, then Landon called over Chloe and said,
" I need you to call Anomutaka's government and notify them of this, see if they are willing to aid us as well".
Chloe rushed back to her monitor and, using the government emergency phone, she called them.
Yazmina looked over to Landon and asked, "I can get in contact with the Kingdom of Borumia, or Danofuno. I have worked with their governments before".
Landon turned to her; his scaly tail swishing behind him, "You can contact Danofuno, I can get a hold of Borumia".
She nodded, and everyone got busy.
Throughout the day, she has been checking up with others and making sure they did their jobs. Once it was around the right time to call Danofuno, she went to her office.
Yazmina stood in front of the rge communication console, her hands steady but her heart beating like a war drum.
Yazmina paced in her quarters, her heart pounding as the weight of the pre-recorded message settled over her.
The words of Earth’s president—Annaliese—still rang in her ears: “We will be sending another shuttle in two weeks to retrieve the one you captured. If they don’t come back, it will be seen as a decration of war.” Yazmina didn’t have the luxury of time or confusion.
She had to act—and fast.
But delicately.
Very few people on this pnet knew what they were dealing with. Adam was telling the truth. She couldn’t risk mass panic, or worse—leaking cssified information that could tip Earth off even further.
She sat at her console, the secure connection pad glowing softly in front of her. Landon had gone to contact Borumia’s high council, and Chloe was still reaching out to Anomutaka’s defense liaison.
Yazmina had one job—to reach out to Danofuno, specifically Atasi, their regal yet cunning leader.
A soft knock at her door interrupted her just as she began inputting the encryption code. “Come in,” she called. It was Tom, his tail flicking behind him, expression uncertain.
You sure you want to do this alone?” he asked. “I could stay and—” “No,” Yazmina interrupted gently. “This is a personal call. Governmental. I’ve worked with Atasi before. I’ll handle it.”
He nodded, though suspicious. “Alright. If you need backup, you know where to find me.”
The door closed behind him, and Yazmina activated the encrypted channel.
A rotating symbol shimmered on the screen as the call was reyed through Danofuno’s government servers. After nearly two minutes, a regal figure appeared on the screen—Atasi.
She sat in her ornate office, fine robes stitched with metallic threads in the background. Her violet eyes narrowed slightly at the surprise call.
“Yazmina,” Atasi said, voice smooth like running water. “To what do I owe the pleasure? Is this another training request for your soldiers?” Yazmina took a steady breath and smiled politely.
“I wish it were that simple, Atasi. I’m afraid I will bring troubling news. We’ve received a threat—one that will escate into war. We need to prepare.”
Atasi leaned in, her tone sharpening. “War? From whom?” Yazmina hesitated.
“A highly advanced civilization. One we were unaware of until recently. They call themselves humans unlike our own. They sent a shuttle—armed. One of their agents nded near our base, and… we captured him before he could vanish into our territory.”
Atasi arched a brow. “Other Humans? This is new. Why haven’t I heard of them before? Do they hail from the Ankara Belt?”
“No,” Yazmina replied, voice quiet.
“They come from beyond our system. A pnet called Earth.” Atasi tilted her head. “Beyond the Belt? That’s unprecedented.”
Her tone shifted from curiosity to suspicion. “How long have you known about this?”
Yazmina’s lips tightened. “Found out today. We kept the matter cssified to avoid widespread panic and to ensure that our first impressions of this species were accurate. Only a few of us have interacted with the being—his name is Adam. He’s not hostile… but his people—his government—are.”
Atasi frowned, digesting this. “And now… the threat?” Yazmina nodded.
“His leader, a woman named Annaliese, somehow learned that her scout was captured. She has sent a warning: return him within a month or face full-scale war.”
There was a long pause. Then Atasi leaned back.
“You want Danofuno’s aid.”
“Yes,” Yazmina said.
“If it comes to conflict, we cannot face this alone. Their technology is foreign and unpredictable. We don’t yet understand their full capabilities.”
Atasi studied her for a moment, then said, “Why should we get involved in a conflict based on your region’s decision to detain a visitor?”
Yazmina looked her directly in the eye. “Because if they come for us and succeed, Danofuno will be next.
They have spacefaring technology, advanced weaponry, and a history of colonization. Earth has likely sent scouts to other locations, too—we may have just been the first to intercept them. Helping us is helping yourselves.”
Atasi went quiet. “Send me a file,” she finally said. “A report on their biology, culture, military capabilities—whatever you’ve gathered. I will call my council.”
“I’ll have it sent immediately,” Yazmina said, already tapping out a command for a redacted dossier. She listed his species only as a “Human-css foreign entity.”
“You’ll have our answer by sunrise,” Atasi said. Before Yazmina could respond, Atasi added, “And Yazmina… if this War comes, I expect you to fight it at our side, not just behind your walls.”
“You have my word,” Yazmina said firmly.
“Thank you.”
The call disconnected.
Yazmina slumped back in her chair, exhaling deeply. The weight of this all burned behind her eyes.
She rubbed her temples and stood.
Stepping out into the corridor.
Outside, soldiers were moving swiftly between stations, emergency drills were being run, and patrols were preparing to unch.
Landon walked toward her from the opposite end, a tablet in hand and his expression grim. “Borumia is on standby,” he said. “They’ll aid us if the shuttle arrives and they confirm the threat. Typical political caution.”
“Danofuno is reviewing the data,” Yazmina reported.
“Atasi seemed receptive. We should hear back soon.”
(Sorry guys I am 2 chapters behind, its been so crazy)
