New Moon 17 : Reunion

"There, leaning against the pillar. A loner."

Sugar pointed at a tall, chocolate-skinned teenager. His back leaned against one of the two rows of 40 meter tall pillars that sectioned the 100 meter wide hall into three along its length, his focus on the kneeling boy in the distance who has his black hair in locs, just like his.

Although he is far away with about a hundred and eighty meters between them, Masa Ed was able to capture his strong figure; confident pose; and mysterious, alienating energy which unlike that of the kneeling boy—a pathetic loser—impressed him well enough.

"Are they related?" He asked. He judged that if their hair and skin color are nearly identical, there might be a possibility they have a lineage connection which is what he wants to confirm.

"No," Sugar replied, she shook her head. "They are from the same town but different villages... Ah—I can't talk about their background... master I am sorry."

"What are you sorry for?" Masa Ed glanced at her. As his eyes laid on her, catching sight of her twirling with a tendril of her long platinum-blonde hair, blushing faintly with a subtle shy look on her face, he smiled. He finds her girly reaction—even though she has the appearance of a girl—to be a great contrast to her usual calm and composed look that borders the coldness of an adult.

"Master, there are some rules and protocols of the order that will stop me and my sister from divulging some information to you in the future," Sugar bowed. "We apologize in advance."

"Tch," Masa Ed clicked his tongue. "You don't really have to apologize to me, its not like I am your actual master. By the way..."

Masa Ed paused; he ignored the commotion far in front having to do with the scythe girl who is about to engage five of the teenage-looking people that surrounded her earlier in a fight. Instead, he turned left and resumed his march, going in the direction of the hall length-side wall—a seamless expanse of transparent glass wall, offering a view of the vast stretch of cloud the ship is flying over.

With Sugar—who is particularly focused on the fight scene in the distance about to commence—trailing behind him, he specifically walked towards a short structure that looks like a round fountain pool with beautiful flowers near it, making the particular spot look like a mini garden.

Moments later, he paused in front of it, and automatically, his eyes was drawn to a small white fish with golden pattern that is chasing at its apparent top speed after a similar purple fish in the clear water it contains—a profound scene that stunned him for a moment as it enlightened him, making clear something he once read in the Book Of Witness.

"He won't catch her," a voice beside him remarked. "If he keeps chasing her, he will only get tired; she is as fast as him."

"True," he nodded slowly, not yet looking at the speaker. "He has to stop and wonder why she is running in the first place—its the basics. But then... is he capable of thought? He is a fish, you know?"

  "Who can tell?"

"You are right, we only see what we see, nothing else." Masa Ed smiled; he quoted a sentence from the Book Of Witness.

Meanwhile, inside the pool, the white fish with golden pattern having tirelessly chased the purple fish for apparently so long stopped and paused for some time before it swam towards a moss coated stone at the depth of the pool which it circled around nine times as Masa Ed counted, before it swam back to the surface where the purple fish right away swam towards him before they both started swimming around the water side by side with their identical movement looking like a choreography.

"He finally got what he wants, so sweet."

"Indeed, how sweet," Masa Ed concurred with the voice. Meanwhile, his eyes went from the fish couple as they swam into a crack amongst sparkling and dazzling stones at the bottom of the pool, to the small golden tree thriving at the center of the pool. Specifically, he focused his eyes on the tree's very beautiful golden fruit that has white markings.

"Here, that one is poisonous, this one is not."

"Oh..." For the first time, Masa Ed turned to the person he has been conversing with; he turned his face down-right—his eyes pausing on a teenage girl whose plum-colored hair is tied in twin-tails with bangs. Then after a glance at her eyes looking like they are filled with plum petals, he naturally collected a fruit from her raised hand, curious as to what is it.

As he focused, examining the fruit that looks similar to a plum fruit in shape and color, the teenage girl kneeling in front of the pool wall rose and sat on its edge's flat top. The baggy sweater and maxi skirt she wore clung to her curves that they could barely hide, especially that of her remarkably large bust that for a moment drew Masa Ed's attention. In a sense, her curvaceous plump figure could be mistaken for that of a woman if her girly face is not in view and her tiny girly voice has never been heard.

"Here," she beckoned; she patted a space near her on the flat edge of the pool; and again, Masa Ed who is still examining the fruit naturally sat on it, his back to the pool water just like hers.

"This is how you do it," she collected the fruit from Masa Ed and after she squeezed it by pinching it, it split in two, revealing a mass of purple seeds nestled inside its hollow center.

"Its the seed you take, try it," she picked a seed from the mass of seeds and she casually held it near his lips, her intent to feed him obvious, which he understood and he responded to by opening his mouth she then placed the seed in.

"You like it?" She asked the next moment, mischief hidden in her big round eyes.

However, Masa Ed having licked the seed a few times before it dissolve in his mouth froze for a spell—unresponsive and eyes unfocused—after which he turned to face her dramatically like a zombie and in the same manner took the fruit she yielded to him.

"You like it," she giggled excitedly. She smiled sweetly and as she dangled her shoe-cladded feet, making her maxi skirt featuring plum floral print billow, she watched him reduce the size of the seed mass by stuffing his mouth.

"...!" As realization suddenly struck her, she turned to her other side where a teddy-bear backpack sits, which from it she hastily bring out a bottle of water she opened before she held it near Masa Ed mouth just as he choked on a seed he mistakenly swallowed, seeming like she anticipated it.

  "Two gulps," she said softly.

As she instructed, Masa Ed drank from the bottle she held for him, gaining relief which made him sigh deeply as he took a deep breath after clearing his food pipe.

"It was fucking sweet," he shook his head.

Like he did not just choke on the seeds just now, he returned his focus to the fruit, thinking he can continue where he left; however, what he found in its hollow center was nothing; the seed mass is massing, he has devoured it already.

"I have more, but they are—"

Before the girl completed her sentence, Masa Ed dropped the fruit, having anticipated something approaching him at full speed. In the same instant, he suddenly welcomed along a gust of wind, the shocking impact of the sickle girl who landed safely on his laps, his hands wrapped around her lace-up corset belt, holding her firmly in place. Although he felt the overwhelming force of her impact that should have sent her beyond the pool that he neutralized by his calculated slow backward movement as he caught her, Masa Ed held it in. His aim specifically was to avoid getting sent into the pool by all means, even if he will suffer the burden of cushioning her impact which he did.

"Sera!" The plum-haired girl sitting beside him blurted.

He turned to look at her.

  "You know her?" He inquired.

  "Yes, she is popular."

"Will you let me go already?" The scythe girl, sera demanded before Masa Ed can continue. Sera wiggled, trying to break free from his firm but gentle hold but to no avail.

Masa Ed chuckled. He watched her thrashing in his hold, his mind reeling back to the time he first saw her, which was some minutes ago, but then the circumstances surrounding her at the time remind him right away of what might have made her crash into him.

So, with eyes narrowed, he raised his head, and at that same moment, he watched as Snow casually caught a black ball heading for his direction with momentum capable of snapping a large tree in half, thus his escape from the trouble of dealing with it or the suffering that will follow its deadly impact if it hits him and sera in his firm hold.

  In that same instant;

"Playtime is over, return to your quarters," Snow ordered, her stern and powerful voice permeating the entirety of the ridiculously vast hall, reaching everyone except three with intent that made them lowered their heads in submission.

As she instructed, the sparse crowd of less than hundred teenage-looking adult that paused in horror before they lowered their head all dispersed, leaving the hall through different exits, the lifts at its far end being the most popular choice for the ladies.

Meanwhile, as Masa Ed released Sera—letting her go and join the voluptuous, plum-haired girl he very much wants to continue to be with, but he can't as the two are also leaving the hall—Snow turned to him, the ball nowhere to be found on her.

"Master, we apologise for our negligence," she bowed, unbothered by his piercing stare that express both annoyance and amusement.

"I will show you the rest of the ship," she added; another way of telling him to let go of what happened and he should instead follow her lead—Masa Ed interpreted from her tone, micro gesture and look.

  But ignoring her suggestion,

This bitch is tactless, He shook his head at her—a gesture that left her confused—after which he stood to his feet and he began stretching his muscles, preparing to return to mother Jas which he did a moment later.
