The hands of the clock crept closer to 12 every passing second. While it was currently 11:32 AM, it caused the large grandfather clock to echo loudly throughout the dark room.
A flash of lightning pierced through the glass into the room, revealing a man in a white suit currently standing with his back turned, looking out the window.
It revealed the fierce rain battering against the glass pane in front of him, along with flashes of light and lightning appearing amidst the black clouds in the sky.
Below, it revealed the surrounding buildings, with light shining from each building only from a few spots. But apart from that, other buildings further away within a 1-2 block radius remained in darkness.
The silence inside the room, blanketed by the sound of the rain and the continuously ticking clock, was broken when a knock on the door sounded.
"Boss, Stone is here to see you."
Hearing this, he stood quietly for a moment while watching the rain.
"Come in."
The sound of the door opening followed shortly after, along with light from the hallway shining into the room. This allowed the man in the cloak, wearing a white skull mask devoid of any cracks, to enter.
He walked into the room, his right arm slinging a black box. The man walking into the room then spoke up.
"Sorry for the wait, Boss. Things got a little tight on my end."
Stone walked into the room as the door closed behind him. This made the man, who had glanced slightly at the door, turn back to look at the man in the white suit, who was still standing and looking at the glass.
Seeing this, Stone turned to his left and found a sofa with a glass table situated in the corner of the room. He headed towards it and spoke.
"Boss, do you know who took your stuff? I can say for sure you'll be shocked when you find out who it is."
He placed the box on the table and threw himself onto the sofa, lifting both legs to rest them on the glass table. This caused the man, turning to look at him while raising both hands to his head, to react.
It made the man turn back to him and speak.
"I don't care who it is. I only care about one thing. You got the job done, and that's enough."
He turned to meet Stone's eyes, with a flash of lightning appearing behind him. Seeing this, Stone spoke calmly.
"Ark Morgan, the number 1 courier here, and a legend everyone knows. He's the one who stole your stuff."
The man frowned upon hearing this.
"He's still not dead?"
Stone nodded.
"Tough to kill like a monster. Got sniped from a kilometer away while mid-air, crashed onto a rooftop, and then had a car explode in his face. Even though he should be dead, he still survived to show his face. But now, Boss, you don't have to worry."
Stone, leaning back against the sofa, put both feet down before leaning forward, resting both arms on his knees, and spoke.
"I managed to bury a bullet in his head. No matter how tough he is to kill, there's no way he's surviving getting his brains blown out."
"You're saying you managed to take care of him, then."
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
The man smiled, which made Stone nod.
"Of course, and the goods are here right now."
Stone placed his right hand on the box. This made the man walk out from behind the desk, heading towards him, and sit on the sofa opposite him before reaching out to grab the box.
But Stone pulled the box toward himself, dodging the man's hand. Consequently, the man, seeing this, looked up to meet Stone's eyes. That made Stone speak up.
"Since the enemy we faced this time was a literal legend, and even the sniper who came to help you this time couldn't take him out. Therefore, I want more of the goods, from 2 pieces to 4 pieces."
"You-"
The man in front bared his teeth, revealing them grinding together. This prompted Stone to speak immediately.
"Think carefully, Boss. If I hadn't gone to take care of him, how much longer would it have taken you to get this item? And how many men would you have to use or lose before you could hunt that bastard down? So, adding just 2 more pieces is nothing compared to the time you've gotten back."
The Boss, sitting and looking at Stone's face, inhaled deeply and stood up.
"Fine, but I need to see the goods first."
"Of course."
Stone opened the box. The man leaned in to look and found something resembling a crystal, as large as a hand, lying inside the box, wrapped in bandages until the inside couldn't be seen.
The box was then closed, accompanied by the slamming sound of the lid.
"Now, can you confirm the goods are here?"
The man took his eyes off the box and looked up at Stone before exhaling forcefully through his nose, turning his back to Stone, and walking behind the desk.
Stone watched the man's back until he opened a drawer and picked up a golden key. It made him walk to the wooden grandfather clock set closely against the wall.
As a result, he used his left hand to push the door open to the left, revealing a black iron door the same size as the grandfather clock.
He inserted the key and twisted it, causing him to let go of the key while using his hand to turn the keyhole.
That caused a slight turning sound before, shortly after, he grabbed the key and twisted it all the way. A sound of something unlocking followed, along with the door popping forward slightly.
The man opened the iron door with his left hand, revealing the inside, which held boxes resembling water flasks on 5 shelves.
On each shelf, there were 3 boxes, but he didn't reach out to touch any of them at all, instead using his left hand to push those shelves inwards.
As a result, the shelves were pushed in before rotating to the left after he pushed them, revealing another security safe sliding out in front of him.
The safe slid into place, replacing the shelves, as he placed his right hand on the fingerprint scanner. A red light passed over his hand before turning green.
Seeing this, he grabbed the iron lever pointing towards the sky and turned it downwards before pulling that iron door open. White light fell upon his body, along with the items placed on the shelf.
The sight of 5 boxes in total sitting on 5 shelves, with 3 boxes on the top and 2 boxes next to them. Seeing this, he reached out to grab those boxes one by one and placed them on the floor.
Before turning back to look at the safe, which had only 1 box left inside, and closing the safe. It didn't take long before he pulled out the golden key and slid the clock back to cover it. Before turning to look at Stone, who was still sitting on the sofa.
Seeing this, he spoke up.
"Come get your stuff and get the hell out."
"So impatient, Boss."
Stone stood up from the sofa by using his right hand to push himself up. That made him stand up on the floor and turn towards the boxes.
With the Boss now walking towards him, it made him step out. A violent tremor then caused his body to sway back and forth!
Accompanied by the sound of an explosion that made him fall, crashing into the sofa! When the sound of the explosion and the tremor faded, it left Stone sitting still on the sofa for a moment before he muttered softly.
"That cowboy bastard."
Stone turned to face the Boss, who was balancing himself on the floor. This made the Boss turn to face Stone, but before he could say anything, the sound of the door opening echoed, and a young woman in a black suit appeared.
As a result, she immediately shouted.
"Boss! We have a major problem! A large truck crashed into us, and the back of it was loaded with explosives! And it just blew up our ground floor!"
"Who did this!"
The Boss turned to her immediately. That made her swallow hard before speaking up, sweat pouring down her forehead.
"A metal plate flew out from the truck during the explosion. And on that metal plate, it said the name Ark Morgan."
The Boss frowned and turned his face towards Stone, who was sitting on the sofa. This caused Stone to use his right hand to grab the gun on his left waist and shoot the Boss right in the face!
As a result, the Boss's head jerked slightly! But that made him slowly turn his face back to Stone. On the left side of the Boss's forehead, a flattened bullet was revealed.
Before that bullet fell to the floor, along with a flash of lightning lighting up the room, revealing his forehead, which had turned into steel.
Before the steel on that forehead slowly disappeared and was replaced by skin. That made the Boss stare at Stone, his eyes shrinking.
While he bared his teeth, veins clearly appearing on his temples and neck.
Which made him immediately roar loudly!
"Stone!!!"
