Chapter 34: Farewell, People I Protected!

Dark Kid Buu's attack—no warning. Most fighters instinctively avoid destroying the planet beneath them. But Kid Buu? Chaos first.

Perilla moved to intercept. Someone beat her.

  Fat Buu.

He knew this version of himself. Pure destruction. No hesitation.

Fat Buu deflected the energy blast skyward. It vanished into space.

  Kid Buu's grin widened. "Hee!"

"Your opponent's me. I won't let you destroy Jack's planet."

Fat Buu raised his fists. Kid Buu beckoned. Come.

"Please watch over Jack. I'll handle this."

Perilla shook her head. "Not to discourage you, but you're weaker now. He's stronger. Plus the Dark Dragon Ball's boost—you can't win."

"I know. But I'm this town's superhero. My mess. My responsibility. I can't let Jack and the townspeople down."

He charged. Perilla heard it—resolve to die.

Kid Buu raised one hand. Blocked. His leg stretched like rubber. Kicked Fat Buu's gut. Dented inward.

Fat Buu grimaced. Sweat dripped. "Doesn't... hurt. And I've got you!"

He grabbed Kid Buu's leg. Swung him. Released. Fired a barrage—Vegeta's Prince strategy. Energy blasts exploded. Smoke engulfed Kid Buu.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

  Jack cheered. "Mr. Buu's winning!"

But the others' faces stayed grim. His Ki didn't drop.

Smoke cleared. Kid Buu—unscathed. Dusted himself off. Laughed. "Hee hee hee!"

Jack's face fell. "How...? Mr. Buu's so strong..."

Fat Buu exhaled. "My past self's annoying. Don't know how my old enemies stood it. But I won't back down!"

He charged again. Kid Buu struck first. Grabbed Fat Buu's antenna. Slammed him repeatedly. Ground cratered.

Jack's eyes welled. "Please, sister! Help Mr. Buu! Beat that bad guy together!"

Fat Buu stood. "No. I don't need help."

  Jack didn't understand.

"This villain—I created him. My evil past. I must finish it. I'm Jack's hero!"

"But you can't win! How will you—"

"Don't worry. I know me best."

He charged again. Kid Buu toyed with him. Beat him. Fat Buu fell. Rose. Fell again.

  Jack couldn't watch.

Supreme Kai Shin stared. "Just like... Grand Supreme Kai. He protected me the same way. Even when outmatched, he stood. Again. Again."

Grand Supreme Kai's sacrifice let me—the weakest Kai—survive. Now Fat Buu inherited not just his appearance, but his gentleness. His will to protect the weak.

Kid Buu played. Fat Buu endured. Finally—an opening.

Fat Buu wrapped around Kid Buu. "Finally!"

  "Hee?!"

"I'll seal you in endless darkness. My sin. My solution. I'll seal you with my life! Farewell, Jack. Farewell, townspeople. I can't protect you anymore. Complete Seal!"

  "HEE HEE HEE!"

Kid Buu panicked. Struggled. Fat Buu held firm.

He chanted. His body expanded—a pink sphere. Sealed Kid Buu inside.

Memories flashed. Once, I was a mindless monster. Destruction. Slaughter. Then I absorbed Grand Supreme Kai. Gained reason. Became Bibidi's tool. Candy satisfied my hunger, but something felt wrong. I grew tired of orders. Learned to make my own candy. Refused Bibidi. He sealed me.

Babidi freed me. Worse than his father. Threatened to seal me again. I obeyed. Then that terrifying human appeared. Long golden hair. Obliterated me. Even my cells burned. I regenerated. But the pain... I fell unconscious. Lost my memory.

Rain poured. Jack found me. His family took me in. I felt strange. Safe. Respected. Bibidi never respected me. Only used me.

I became a superhero by accident. Defeated criminals. Healed the sick. Children loved me. Their smiles... sweeter than any candy.

That's why I must destroy my evil self. Protect their smiles.

"Farewell, Jack. Farewell, townspeople. You showed me smiles sweeter than any treat."

Fat Buu sealed himself and Kid Buu together.

Jack collapsed. Tears streamed. "MR. BUU! No! NOOOO!"
