Twenty minutes later, my cart is set up in an open stall on market street. I’ve got a dozen pancake corndogs ready to go, and six more in the fryer. While they are cooking I start the prep work for the cheese crepes. The cart’s system can do most of the prep for me, but there is something special about putting a recipe together on a beautiful morning.
The warmth of the milk and cheese melting together in the saucepan chased away the lingering morning chill. I pulled the pot off the plate heater and whisked the milk and cheese mixture like it owed me money.
I gave a cheerful smile and a wave to a few of the pedestrians passing by as I prepped the Crepe batter. I did a few tricks juggling the eggs to catch a few eyes on the cart. I caught cracked and then dropped the eggs into the milk and cheese blend. I had a few observers who had paused on their morning shopping. I tossed a few winks and smiles at some young maids and housekeepers, while setting out the most recent batch of Pancake corndogs on the display stand to cool.
A few young men, in the ninja uniform of pocketed jackets over blue jumpsuits, walked past the cart, then one of them turned around and took a big sniff of the air. After he did so, a small puppy popped its head out of the man’s pocket and did the same.
“Greetings gentlemen! Care to try a sample of my new breakfast dish?” I called out to them. Doing my best to wrangle that all important first sale. I chopped up one of the pancake corn dogs into bite size pieces. With a flourish of my hand four of the bites were impaled on toothpicks and presented to the three ninjas and their dog.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“Sure but what is this?” The ninja with the dog reached out but the blonde one with glasses slapped his hand away before he could grab a bite. “I don't recognize the fruit used in the pastry, or this merchant, It might be poison.”
“Nah, Kabi, it's not poison. Koumaru can tell. She likes the smell though.” The man reaches out again and grabs two samples, feeds one to the dog and then eats the other.
The blond ninja scowls, then his face shifts to a pleasant mask and he takes a sample, holds it near his face and wafts the air towards himself.
“Vendor, what is this fruit? I can confirm that I have never encountered it before, but I believe it may have medical properties.”
“You are correct sir, Blueberries are known in my homeland as something of a superfood. Some say they combat aging and improve memory. They are a very rare delicacy but I can sell you a cup of uncooked berries for you to test.” I checked my system to see what the appropriate market value of the berries was then added 20% “100 Ryo should be enough. If they work out for you we can determine bulk pricing later”
“Bulk? How much of these berries do you have?” he asked as the third ninja ate his sample with an appreciative look on his face.
“Kabuto we don't have time for this right now, and Merchant please sell me all of the rest of these sausage and fruit buns on a stick,” said the ninja with the pocket dog.
“That will be 120 Ryo, 220 if you would like a cup of berries.”
“Hando, pay him 220, get Kabuto the berries. You know how he is with medicine,” said the third ninja who had a face I can only describe as forgettable, extraordinarily so.

Well that can't be good.
