44 | PEGASUS

Never could have Yggdrasilland perceived time like this as Iker. The assumption many humans made was that if, due to time travel, something changed that would affect everything in the future, the change would be instantaneous. As soon as that change was made, the entire future would too. However, in the dimension Iggy's consciousness was operating, that was not how timelines would change at all, if they ever did. If anything, the aforementioned form of timeline changes was the only way humans could come to comprehend it. And even if they were to comprehend it properly, the gods had the power to change the timeline event that had very real consequences into an inconsequential dream, thus rendering enemy time travelers useless.

The entire goal up to this point was to get Iggy's consciousness to return to the arak spaceship where he knocked out Monica, and where Uzi and Wexil were having their battle. First contact between the human and arak civilizations did not only have ramifications for both parties, the universe, or even all of existence. It had reached to have consequences to the imagination of the creator himself.

Iggy was able to see the past, present and future regardless of how many eons they consisted of, and he had existed before the creator knew a single letter in any kind of alphabet. Those realities that existed were impenetrable by mortals... until Prophet Ameen now gained the capability to change them. Indeed, the events that had determined the beginning and the ending of all realities possible were no longer completely unchangeable. Now Iggy and Spiderland needed to find the existing one too. After all, that was how Spiderland and Iggy remained immortal. As long as those events had remained unchanged, they would always be alive, and Prophet Ameen, prior to the forty-second reset, was unable to reach it.

Iggy always theorized that Prophet Ameen and Bastian had the same power, but now it seemed he was also taking advantage of the resets Fatima was triggering, and perhaps even the loop Bastian was within too. The realities that existed before any of the ones that had stories was called the Wall of Fiction, and Prophet Ameen's four-dimensional self gained influence over it.

Iggy, to fight the messiah and to help Uzi, split his mind into two once more.

Past the headache and his eyes insisting to remain shut, Iker could only see a ravaged hangar and hear the distant booms within the arak spaceship. It had to be Uzi and Wexil fighting.

And when Iker glanced below as he slowly stood up he realized something odd.

Monica's unconscious body was missing, yet Iker's intuition told him it was his own doing somehow. Distant daydreams of an undead centaur played in his mind's eye for what seemed to be for an extremely random reason. With the intention to be gentle with his body to fully recover, Iker realized it was not necessary. Latent expertise in kaya kicked in, and his body was already regenerating quickly. His headache ceased. He had to get to Uzi quickly.

However, Iker was interrupted by a being entering the hangar through an entrance past the destroyed spaceships. Even though the shallow flames made him seem to be a silhouette of a talking horse at first, the being trotted close enough for his folded wings to be perceivable past the rising smoke.

It was Pegasus, real name Kars, from one platoon likely trying to find Monica among the burning debris. His starry-like eyes contrasted the burning glare on them from the flames, especially when they met Iker's stare. From the meters they stood apart, Pegasus's white coat was no longer in shadow.

"What did you do to Monica?" Pegasus asked, dragging his hooves apart on the metallic floor into a battle stance.
